The Razzball Hoops Pod is back, covering the few pieces of news over the past week including Dante Exum‘s torn ACL, then another lively debate of the ranks thus far, mainly between JB and Slim arguing the first rookie off the board.  Hint – it’s two centers!  We also talk where to take aging vets, and the remaining players which will crack into the top 100.

Thanks for that long pause there post-geometry joke. Gives us a chance to compose ourselves.

I’ll throw out there that I think I read somewhere that the schedule comes out tomorrow. You guys are supposed to know these things aren’t you, ha-ha. Slim sounds so prepared there. “How are your Slim vs Slim posts coming?”, “Meh, I’m sorta working on it, might have something, someday. Maybe when you’re gone, maybe”. “When’s the schedule come out?”, “Meh, I don’t know”, ha! Too funny.

Slim, what big do you think we bid back and forth this year at the draft? Year one it was Steven Adams. Year two it was Jusuf Nurkic. You may notice you got both these guys over me, I’m not bitter though. Who is it this year, Turner? He certainly won’t be anywhere near as cheap as Adams or Nurkic. Might have to wait and see what happens in the preseason when a new sleeper emerges.

@A Hill O’ Beans: Hah we’re still way in the off-season! Both for bad jokes and preparedness!

You guys enjoy your bidding wars, I need littles!

@JB Gilpin: If its PGs you’re after than I’ll be all up in there. The only actual PG I have is Schroder. Sadly I’m not overly impressed with the rookie crop, so hopefully some decent guys get released.

@A Hill O’ Beans: Yeah I was surprised Rubio got let go last year. Of course, he wasn’t worth $30, but I think he’s an easy hold for a while. Guys that can hit a couple cats hard are so valuable (AST/STL)

@A Hill O’ Beans: I think I know which rookie I want whose price tag could get kinda high… Stanley Johnson. He’s a good one. Hopefully people still think Detroit made a mistake and go Winslow instead. Yeah both Stevens and Nurk really caught my attention in the preseason. I’m not real sure which big man it’ll be this year. After Turner and Lyles it looks like Bobby Portis is the only other big who might get minutes. Oubre and Justin Anderson are the only wings, I guess Hollis-Jefferson too but he’s a niche guy. But yeah I’m going to assume I get priced out of Towns at $40ish, Turner’s hype pushes him to $30ish, I won’t be in on Okafor for $25ish, but I’ll be in on Porzingis at $30ish I’m sure. As long as I get one of these rookie bigs I’ll be happy. I think I need one more big name player to put with Lillard and Wiggins and I’m in no hurry to win immediately. Kaminsky and Willie are the 2 who should come at a reasonable price. I’m not too sure they are for me.

@Slim: Yeah you love you some StanJo. I think his summer league was too buzzy to be under Winslow. Porzingis you think gets to $30? I guess he kinda has to…

I wish to have both TJones and Clarkson on my team this year!! You mentioned about Yahoo’s ranking on Draymond Green, then I suddenly remembered ESPN’s 2014-2015 projection on him last year… Man, I’m thinking about it now but I’m pretty sure it was BLANK! Nothing! They projected 0 minutes, pts, 0 everything! Hah.

@Dante Green: Nice! Those guys have some solid upside and likely to be very underrated. Hah well that was probably a glitch, but either way everyone had him ranked too low, at least we were highest!

Or Gobert the magnificent (if you prefer) the latter.
