Sup fellas. What do you guys think about Mudiay vs. Payne in a dynasty? Someone is trying to trade up to my 5th pick (hoping Mudiay) for their 8th pick (then I’d probably grab C.Payne). I’ll probably ask for either J.Henson or M.Smart as compensation for trading down. Is that something you guys would do, or should I stick with Mudiay since he probably has the highest ceiling? Thanks.

@Drez: Idk man. I like Cameron Payne A LOT, but look where he’s likely to be drafted. All the teams between 13-16 already have PG’s, so I think he is unlikely to get serious minutes within the next year or two barring an injury or trade. No matter how I slice it, I see Payne winding up in a situation like Dennis Schroeder. Man its so tough to evaluate Mudiay though. I think most of the hype around him stems from the fact that his size and athleticism are off the charts.

He did good in the CBA, but I’d take that with a grain of salt because the competition there really isn’t that good (trust me I’ve gone to a couple games in Shanghai).. On another note, I heard Marbury lit him up for 38 points(!?) which makes me seriously question the defensive potential people see in him… The highlights I’ve seen gives me the impression that he is another freak athlete that needs a lot of time to polish his game.

He has a real ugly shot and makes a lot of poor decisions that lead to careless turnovers. Being ineligible from NCAA play and then suffering a nearly season ending injury in the CBA certainly hasn’t helped his development. Some may disagree with me, but I think he becomes a project. At the very least, I see MCW-level TO’s in his future if he starts for the Knicks/Nuggs right away. Smart on the other hand, has a secure role as the Celtics’ starting PG, also has a high ceiling, and is likely three years further into his development. Mudiay might have a higher ceiling, but I’d probably take that “downgrade” of a trade based on the safety factor alone.

@JB Gilpin: haha yea.. I mean I like Bledsoe, I defended him all thru out last season when suns’ fan were ganging up on him, saying he should’ve been the one who got traded instead of Dragic. LOL And now we got Knight, and we suns fans are gonna witness that stupid 2-PG system again next season! Ugh… It’s just that in my opinion I’d rather have Knight stay! If the Knicks aren’t so high on the available rookies in their 4th pick then give it to us for Bledsoe!

@JB Gilpin: yea I have to agree! Man, your thoughts on Covington? He had a very nice brief run where he showed he could be a threat from beyond the arc and can be a steals specialist too… Until his coach decided to give his minutes to JRich instead! How many mins do u think he’ll average this upcoming season?
