Ugh, the Razzball Basketball Podcast was a Razzball Basketball Triage today! But like Michael Jordan, we persevered through me having a cold and Slim waking up with hiccups to bring ya the goods.  On today’s show, we recap news and notes from the weekend including the absurdity that is Curry,  play another edition of Can We Make Slim Look Stupid, then preview tonight’s games with our 30-Point Challenge picks.

I’ll buy into the gambler’s fallacy! Give me Kemba for 30. Law of averages, be on my side tonight!

@jdubs: Haha nice! Yeah he was really close to being mine anyway 🙂

Skip the Curry and go straight for the Lamb Vindaloo. Much spicier at most places. I’m also taking Klay for 30 because GS is likely to skip the Curry tonight themselves.

Btw, I just landed Lillard in a trade that was way too good to pass up. (Ibaka+Elfrid for Dame!) I’m ecstatic because I was practically trying to get rid of those two, but Lillard isn’t exactly the best fit on my team either.

I am punting threes and would like to improve my TO. Also kinda worried about how much he’ll tank my FG%. The dream is to flip Lillard for KAT or package him for KD, but would you do Lillard for Kyrie+Tobias or Lillard for Butler and KCP?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Ryan: Oh nice call! I wish there was an Indian place near my work… Yeah I saw that Curry news, glad I picked Klay myself!

Whoa, awesome move! Def not doing the Butler one. Too much risk. Kyrie/Tobias… Eh, I would hold out for KAT or a deal that high end

      • Ryan says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Love me some Indian food and have the fortune of living near a couple good places. Already sent in my offers for KAT and KD, but I doubt I can pry them away without jeopardizing my playoff run.

Idk, Jimmy is supposedly expected to return to practice sometime this week. Pretty encouraging news to me since I have the bye locked up and can afford to wait three weeks for his return. Perhaps it’s still too risky, but he is such an ideal fit for my team. Same high volume FT, no FG drain, and not as many TO. Plus 5 games in the finals! I probably should try to get more than KCP in return in order to better hedge my risk, but the Butler trade seems like a decent plan B to me

I’m not so keen on Kyrie, but he is much more efficient than Dame and his owner is actively shopping him (CLE also has the better schedule). I should try to get much more out of that too though, which means no trade will happen there because that team doesn’t have many tradeable assets.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Ryan: Damn, very jealous. Also doesn’t help my wife doesn’t like Indian food…

Ah yeah the bye helps, but I still think lillard is better and KCP I dunno is a good enough sweetener, even though it does help your needs. if you got a better sweetener I might be more apt to endorse it.

Well, how many of those could be DNPs for Kyrie? That scares me a little too, while Portland will be fighting for a playoff spot

@JashFath: Also, screw JaMaychal Green. Cost me big time in FanDuel too. I was even more pissed off when I found out he wasn’t hurt! JOERGERRRRRRRRRR!

@JashFath: I HAVE BEEN SAYING THE SAME THING ABOUT BETTER ANKLE SUPPORT TOO! Especially back when Curry had glass ankles. It was so frustrating. High-tops for everyone!

@JashFath: Nice! Hahaha I miss it too, that was harder to track tho 🙂

Hah Joerger now in Skiles territory?!?! Yeah that was a frustrating one…

Thanks for listening man! Let’s start working on our anti-ankle sprain footwear patents 🙂

Late request for help! 10 team h2h.

Team: Wall, Teague, Clarkson, A.Bradley, Redick, Middleton, Batum, Durant, Zingis, Gortat, Gobert

    1. Which of my players should I be trying to push the hardest to deal? Deadline is tonight. Teague because of late season schedule? Batum because of his recent struggles and injury risk? Gortat because why have two Wizards?

    2. Would you trade Redick for Ibaka? What if it required Redick + a 7th round pick for Ibaka and a 9th round?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Joe: 1. Hah two wizards isn’t the worst thing. Seems like Gortat fits (although if you got Ibaka it would make him more expendable). Yeah I think Teague, something likely has to give there in ATL, he’s had a lot of injuries lately… I think he could bring back the most for a guy I’m not huge on in that keeper. 2. Sure! Would try straight 1-for-1 first but that change in draft picks wouldnt keep me from doing it

      • Joe says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

What about Teague for Tobias? (And would you try to do both Teague for Tobias and Redick for Ibaka, or is that giving up too much guard power?)

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Joe: I think I like the Ibaka one more… Teague for Tobias… It’s close, I know Teague got benched last night, but I still think he can be OK. Gun to my head I still like it too. I think with the out of position dimes you got you should be OK doing both!

  6. Kevin says:

    Let’s see… Klay’s last 3 games. 33, 9, 32. Guess which one I picked for the 30 point challenge? Well I’m picking him again!

@Kevin: Hah nice! Let’s do this Klay, I need this one!

    Collison for Gary Harris?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Jake: An itsy bitsy need dependent. If stls, Harris. If assists Collison. If Rondo were to miss more time it’s definitely Collison. but…

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Jake: @Slim: Yup agree with that, I’d prob own Collison right now if I had to choose

Great stuff as per usual! Gimme Melo to be different tonight

    • Slim

      • JB Gilpin

@The Gintern: @Slim: Nope another 0fer, only winner was Russell

  10. Hand of Justise says:
    (link)

I was offered Meyers Leonard in exchange for Justise Winslow in a keeper auction league- similar low salaries. Which side do you take? My team is not particularly inspiring, looking to the future so I think I keep Justise. Thanks.

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Hand of Justise: Yeah easy one. Definitely Winslow.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Hand of Justise: @Slim: Yeah totally agree, Winslow by a large margain

  11. That Feetwork says:
    (link)

Hadn’t listened to a podcast in a while, but they’re as great as I remember them to be.

Playoffs start on the 14th for me and I just wanted your opinion on this:

Danny Green, Eric Gordon, Demarre Carroll, Danilo Gallinari, and Blake Griffin

If I’m just stashing for the playoffs (clinched first) which three would you hold?

    As always, thanks!

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@That Feetwork: I’ll go with the healthy 2 1st and only 1 of the injured guys. Definitely not Gallo. He won’t be back by then. I’ll go with Blake since the upside is significantly greater. But my guess is that you wind up moving on from all 3 by the 14th.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@That Feetwork: @Slim: Thanks so much man! We got a goodun for tomo too, got an awesome guest 🙂

Yeah agree, I don’t want all the injuries. Totally with Slim, Green, Gordon Blake are my 3

  12. Mari says:
    (link)

    Hey JB,

My team consists of: Teague, Smart, Clarkson, D Collison, Aaron Gordon, Sullinger, Harden, Gobert, Dieng, Dray Green, Rolo, and Milsap.

Should drop any for Keif and/or Deng?

    Thanks!

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Mari: Tough. PG is more of a need than these 2. I’m guessing this is a shallower league. Damn… Can you afford to lose a PG? and who… you have good assists with Harden and Draymond. I’d say Smart is 1st to go and yeah it won’t hurt much. For which… I’ll take Luol. With Bosh down he has a ton of responsibility in the offense. It’s a killer team you’ve got.

      • Mari says:
        (link)

@Slim: It is shallower, I think. 10 team. And I think I can afford to lose a PG. But do I really need to pick up Deng?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Slim: @Mari: Yeah that is a pretty crazy team haha. Tough bc Deng and Kieff probably should be owned. He’s been better, but I think I’d rather have them both over rolo too. I’d lose Smart and Rolo and get both

          • Mari says:
            (link)

@JB Gilpin: OK, I did it. Did I just make my team crazier?

            • JB Gilpin

              JB Gilpin says:
              (link)

@Mari: Hah I think so, but crazy in the good way!

  13. Lasandro says:
    (link)

Starvin Marvin, Colli, Garry Harri(s), Bazemore/less or K(P)CP aka Angeldust in a vacuum ROS (trying out some new nicknames)?

Currently have Starvin for the 3s, some brds and D stats. What kinda line do you think we can expect from Harris for however long Rooster’s out? Baze was beastly early in the season but can we expect that kinda prod again?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Lasandro: I’ll take a stab at Garry Harris ROS.

      .445/.780/1.8/14.0/3.2/2.0/1.7/0.2/1.4 :34 min

This feels a tad conservative to me though. He could be closer to 80% FTs and 14 points feels like the floor.

      • Slim

        Slim says:
        (link)

@Slim: I like the KpCP. I might use that again. I think Josh Richardson needs a nickname too. Obviously JRich is taken…

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Lasandro: @Slim: Haha he is soooooom my KPCP! I don’t see anything wrong with that Garry Harry projection haha. I’ll narrowly stick with my KPCP 🙂

  14. Jerry says:
    (link)

Hey, JB! Joe Johnson, Bazemore, or Fournier ros? Thanks!

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Jerry: I’ll take Fournier out with the wrist. Other 2 options are good enough to avoid that mess, and Skiles for that matter. I kind like Joe Johnson on the Heat and he offers a bit more on the stat sheet with some assists. I’ll go Joe but I do think Bazemore is still a top 100 guy moving forward.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Jerry: @Slim: Yeah wrist is scary. Johnson was good last night and Bazemore fading is scary, I’m not huge on either. I guess Iso Joe, I think last night will be one of his better games as a… Heat?

  15. OldMilwaukeePounders says:
    (link)

    JB/Slim,

I’m looking to make a run at making the playoffs in a 12 team H2H (no TO) keeper league (up to 4 per team).

My keepers are real solid (PG-13,Whiteside, Curry, CP3), but the rest of my team is mostly role players and not that appealing to deal. Would you consider dealing any of those (except Curry) for a package of 2 players like DeAngelo Russell and Monta Ellis? I need PTS, AST, STLs mainly.

Thanks, I really like Russell going forward, but i’m not sure if it is worth breaking up my “core” group or not.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@OldMilwaukeePounders: Yeah I don’t think I would break up that core either, and with it all reshuffling, you would have a great roster next yr. I’d prob hold, or get something better than Ellis as the throw in

      • OldMilwaukeePounders says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: JB, I just hit you up on Twitter too, sorry for spamming you with questions bro! What about something like DeAngelo + Wiggins for PG-13? The guy is way out of contention and said he wants PG13 and everyone is available.

  16. Jake says:
    (link)

    JB and Slim –

Put Andrew Goudelock on your radar. He just signed with the Rockets. I think he will take Ty Lawson’s old minutes. This dude can SHOOT!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Jake: Hah aight, I’ll bring him up on the pod tomorrow!

  17. Dante Green says:
    (link)

Sup bud! I failed to add Knight, a guy with a higher claim got him! And our wire is pretty barren, though I dropped Aminu and stream Shabazz Muhammad..

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Dante Green: Sup man! Boooooo, that sucks! Def good with the move you ended up making though…

  18. Threekola says:
    (link)

    Yo Slim!

Are you dropping Darren Collison for Zach Lavine in a 10-team? Rondo isn’t looking too healthy but Zach played over 40 minutes today. Also, I plan on dropping Colly tomorrow to use Zach for 2 more games as opposed to Colly for 1 more.

But without taking that into account, you think I should?

    THANKS!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Threekola: Yo! I’m no Slim, but I would. I like the more consistent playing time coming his way. Any time!

  19. Tyler says:
    (link)

    Monta Ellis or Avery Bradley?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Tyler: I’d prob stick with Ellis, but if AST wasn’t a need and you needed more 3s, I could see going Bradley
