Bledsoe has scored in single digits 25 times this season. He's outside the top 200 on a per-game basis. There was a time when he was a perennial top 40 player. Life comes at us fast. On what was championship Sunday for many, Eric Bledsoe turned back the clock and produced his best performance of the season. PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT 24 4 11 2 0 1 3/9 8/17 5/10 Now, Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram did not play in this one but whatever. A chip is a chip. If Bledsoe led any of you to a chip, you are obligated to buy a jersey of his. And you better wear that bad boy proudly. If anyone starts clowning you, just punch them in the face and say that your face Bledsoe that I could wear this jersey proudly around town. Here's what else I saw last night:
I used to walk 500 Myles for Turner but he's hurt and I'm a fantasy slut. Plus, I walked way more than 500 Myles. Go check the receipts. I was walking before people were talking. Anyways, the new campaign is to walk 500 Miles for Bridges. Remember back in the day when they'd have those heart challenges at school and you'd have to ask for donations for a walk? It's similar except we are not asking for money. We are demanding respect for Miles Bridges. Last night was just the latest example of his dominance this season. PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT 15 14 3 1 1 4 3/9 6/16 0/2 In 38 minutes. Bridges has started the last nine games and been a top 35 player. He's averaged 38 minutes, 21 points, 3.3 tres, 7.5 boards, 2.4 dimes, 0.9 steals, and 0.9 blocks while shooting 54% from the field and 77% from the line. The usage rate has been 21. That number was at 16 for most of the season. He's benefited from injuries but the genie is out of the bag now. There's no stuffing it back in. If it happens, then we walking, and walking, and walking until it's water under the Bridges. Here's what else I saw last night:
Welcome to your midweek guidance for week 12!  The trajectory of your matchup should be starting to take shape in terms of your team's category strengths and weaknesses.  It’s time to grab the win!  To help get you over the top, I've identified some players who are excelling in common punt strategies. If you see a player listed across multiple formats below, he's worth a closer look.  Keep in mind that these suggestions are primarily for streaming towards the end of close matchups.  If there is a player that I believe is a long-term option for 12-team leagues, I will specify that in the write up.  Otherwise, I only recommend adding these players if you have an obvious drop candidate. The players listed below have two or more games remaining in the current week and are rostered in 50% or less of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues.
Welcome to your midweek guidance, All-Star break edition!  Most of you find yourselves in the midst of a two-week duel, so you already have five days' worth of stats determining the direction of your contest.  To help get you over the top, I've identified some players that excel in common punt strategies. If you see a player listed across multiple formats below, he's probably worth a closer look.  During week ten, that player was Robert Williams III.  In week nine, I covered Jae'Sean Tate and Saddiq Bey as their minutes and value increased.  Yes, there have been a couple of landmines, but just remember that these suggestions are primarily for streaming towards the end of close matchups.  If there is a player that I believe is a long-term option, I will specify that in the write-up.  Otherwise, I only recommend adding these players if you have an obvious drop candidate. The players listed below have two or more games remaining in the current week and are rostered in 50% or less of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues.
Welcome to your midweek guidance for week 10! It’s time to identify the competitive categories in your matchup and fortify the categories in which you already have an advantage. Based on various punt strategies, I’ll be profiling a few stream options that will increase your chances of winning the week. Last week’s recommendations featured some players who boosted your win probability (Robert Williams III, Saddiq Bey, Jae’sean Tate) along with a dud (Grayson Allen), so hopefully you were able to find the players that helped your specific situation. The players listed below players have two or more games remaining in the current week and are rostered in 50% or less of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues.
Yep, I'm going to subject you all to my friends and family league yet again. We're at the midway point of our regular season after today, so I wanted to go back and see where my predictions from the preseason were right and wrong, and which fantasy players are performing better or worse than their average draft position (ADP). What I hope you can take from this is how to better formulate your strategy in your own leagues, and what seems to work best for people in a relatively average league. Our league is listed as a "silver" league on Yahoo!, which isn't really scientific but indicates our team levels combined are slightly below the average of "gold." We have two platinum, one gold, four silver, and five bronze managers. It's a top-heavy league, which is the case in most scenarios as the people who run the league seem to be far more invested. Anyways, the below records and rankings are based on if the scores stay the same as they are at the writing of this article. Those are subject to change, but not by much.
If you’re in a H2H categories league, you know by now that the direction of your matchup usually starts to come into focus around this time each week. For those of you in ultra-competitive leagues, you’ve also probably learned that victory is often found on the margins, and winning or losing can hinge on a single rebound, block, or free throw. Although the week’s final few days always bring some plot twists, you can help yourself out by identifying players on the waiver wire who will help you carve out a path to victory. To help out, I’ve listed a few punt builds that are common across the fantasy hoops landscape, and provided some recommendations for player additions based on those scenarios. For instance, if you have a streaming spot and find your team getting mercilessly bludgeoned in threes, assists, and FT%, check out strategy 1 for players who can provide value in your more winnable categories. The players listed below have two or more games remaining in the current week and are rostered in 50% or less of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues.
"Living off borrowed time the clock tick faster That'd be the hour they knock the slick blaster". Razz Nation, we are in the place to be for another look into a possible high end stud that can certainly be had at a reduced price today based on his performance thus far into the season. This cat was near the top of many draft boards throughout the fantasy landscape, as there was high expectations for this dynamic scorer who many GM's hoped would be a pillar of their backcourt. It's been a wild  ride so far for his owners, who are certainly losing faith by this point and if you have a top 50 guy at your disposal, you should entertain the idea of lobbing him out there to a frustrated GM.
When I asked Son if I could write for Razzball he said I could on one condition: More. Kings. Content. Regretfully being the man for the job, I accepted his terms and spent much of the days around the holiday soaking up some of that quality Sacramento basketball product. I also caught a few non-Kings games and took notes, opened some gifts (alpaca socks for our first Wisconsin winter), finished watching The Young Pope (quite good), and then looked through my scribblings for a single shard of wisdom. And while I can’t promise that I found any, I do have some thoughts on this first week of NBA basketball.
I've been running the same fantasy basketball league with roughly the same players for nearly a decade now and a while back we converted it into a keeper league. This past Tuesday we had our fantasy draft. We are like most leagues in that there are a few players nearly always on the top and the rest of the league is a mixture of people who don't care nearly as much or are just novices trying to learn. If you're in a casual league, it probably looks a lot like this. One important thing to keep in mind is that this is a KEEPER league, and as such 41 of Yahoo!'s top 50 players were kept and unavailable to be drafted. You'll see them pop up in rounds much later, in most scenarios, as they were kept on the cheap. It's a 9-cat H2H league as well with nothing to play for but a trophy we have engraved every season. We added two more teams this season that did not play at all last season and held an expansion draft before the actual draft, and we replaced one manager who decided to focus on his life instead (which is totally okay and encouraged, btw.)
Fantasy projections are hard. We look to others in the industry for guidance without plagiarizing or pilfering, overanalyze quotes from team personnel, and process the preseason (paltry as this one is) like we’re being given tea leaves to read -- when by and large they should be treated like used tea bags and be tossed. Yet, we try to put forth the best information possible -- even if some of it is conjured from the Ether -- because, above all, NONE of us want to hear about it later if we miss poorly.
What's up everybody? I'm aiming this article at those people who are Googling "How to win my fantasy basketball league" or are Bing-ing (make sure the hyphen is in that word!) "Winning a fantasy basketball league." Or maybe, you've played but never really thought about the underpinnings of fantasy sports. Either way, I hope this article gives you a quick run-down of the best ways to play fantasy sports -- including basketball! -- and maybe turn this hobby we have into a lifelong passion.
