Hi all, this marks the start of a weekly series where I’ll break down who you should consider adding to your team in standard leagues. However, before picking any of these guys up, you must evaluate your own team to see what it is you need. These guys all have different strengths in terms of categories that they excel at, so it is very important to pick the one that best fits your team. I’ll limit this weekly list to players owned in 45% or under of Yahoo! Leagues, as I wouldn’t want people to see a player that’d be a great addition to their team only to find that he’s already owned and has been for a while. So without further ado, let’s get into this week’s list! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Daily/weekly player projections for the next 7 days + rest of season projections per game/36M + today’s lineups with integrated projections!
Tatum is the man in Bean-town. The prince who assisted the former alpha in Kemba, has now taken the crown. All hail this efficient volume scorer! Starting to feel just like another regular game from Tatum. 21 shots in 37 minutes is the kind of usage that makes Tatum so valuable this season. His youthful pairing with Brown is a huge reason the Boston Celtics are now 6-3 out the gate. Please, blog, may I have some more?
I did okay last time I posted my picks here, so why not try again yeah? I won 24% of my bet on 1/5, but I didn’t take my own advice and faded Jarrett Allen. Woof.
No sweat, there’s another chance tonight my dudes and dudettes. It’s another five-game slate that starts at 7:30 ET. Keeping an eye on Anthony Davis’s status would be advisable. If he sits you can find some really great value in Montrezl Harrell, and then LeBron James becomes a more viable play obviously. It’s possible LBJ sits too as the Lakers have a back-to-back, but I would wager if AD sits he’s a go.Please, blog, may I have some more?
And yes, indeed, he was a good friend of mine. He’ll be a friend of yours, too, after you’re done reading this article, assuming you haven’t drooled all over your phone that the screen has become unusable. For you monitor monkeys, I really hope you’re not horizontally drooling. If so, you may want to consult your nearest witch doctor.
ENYWHEY. Today we’re looking at Jarrett Allen, who’s been getting a ton of write-up on the site and I’ll make it the official coming out party right now. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Those of you who have been with me for the last four years know of my love for Nikola Jokic. I was rooting for him from the moment he entered the league because I had been watching him from his days playing for Mega Basket in the Adriatic League and his steady rise to superstardom has been a pleasure to behold. Centers were pretty dominant earlier in basketball but the super teams during the last decade in Miami (Lebron, Wade, Bosh) and Golden State pushed the sport toward small-ball lineups, evident by the fact that Shaq was the last center to win the MVP award in 2000. Jokic looks like the only center from his generation that can be as effective in his team’s play and a candidate to win that award again for centers. But I’m personally in love with his passing and court awareness. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Now that we are two and a half weeks into the NBA season, players are starting to settle into their roles and we are able to identify which players are the real deal. This article is meant to help clarify which players will continue their breakout seasons and can be beneficial to add to your fantasy squad. If you already have them, cheers! If not, I would consider trading for them if they alleviate your team’s needs. Without further ado, here are my picks for early breakout players this NBA season. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Razzball Nation, what’s good?
Another week in our beloved fantasy basketball landscape has revealed another player with a high ceiling who is currently hanging out in the basement, patting his beer gut, and brushing chip crumbs off his jersey.
His (or her) current GM has without question become tired of the low-end lines being pumped out nightly especially considering the high pick that was used to snag this stat-stuffing center.
This big man has the ability to be a top 25 player and a key cog to your championship run, ladies and gentleman I give to you…Please, blog, may I have some more?
The Nets were mired in a two-game losing streak, dropping games to the Hawks and Wizards no less. Then he heard the news that Kevin Durant would miss the next four games due to COVID protocols. Frustrated, Nash stood up from the couch, heel kicked the soccer ball conveniently laying on the floor, then began heading it against the wall. At first, it was a slow rhythmic pace….thump…..thump…..thump
Then thump..thump..thump..thump..thumpthumpthumpthumpthump. The woodpeckers in the neighborhood all flocked to the noise and gawked in amazement at the display of pecking dexterity. Then he heard it. “Honey, rewind that. And turn up the volume.”Please, blog, may I have some more?
When I drafted from the 11 or 12 slot, I was so confident with my choice. Well, at least I was when I selected Devin Booker. Oh gosh, how you have made me look silly Devin. It seems he has forgotten how to shoot free throws, as he’s converted at a ridiculously low 73.5% on the season. For context, he’s a career 86% shooter from the stripe. Booker has averaged 21.1 points and 1.9 three-pointers, down from his career averages of 22.4 points and 2 three-pointers per game. He’s also turning the ball over at an elevated 5.3 per game. I don’t care about turnovers but they do affect his overall value. As a result, he’s been the 162nd player on a per-game basis. Here’s why Booker will be fine and is my bounce-back player of the week. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Through two weeks, Mikal Bridges has posted 14-5-1 with a block and almost a steal a game. Bridges is also doing so efficiently shooting 49% from the field and 46% from deep with 2.7 triples a game. As of now, Bridges has more than exceeded his ADP which was in the ’90s for a lot of people’s drafts. The question now is, is it for real? Please, blog, may I have some more?
