From time to time, we here at Razzball like to take a look at some guys who are doing well in the league in one particular category but remain less than x% owned; in this case, the ceiling is 65% ownership. One man who fits that criteria is a guy whose name keeps creeping into the roundups, Larry Sanders. He is averaging 3.1 blocks per game, tied with Serge Ibaka, the Lord of Blocks. He is good for about 7 1/2 points and rebounds per game, but his FT% is typical big man garbage. He is close to the 65% cut off, however, so act quickly. He”s owned in too many leagues to officially be a buy, and let’s face it, every league that is deep enough to need him probably already has him, but someone, somewhere, could probably use a Larry Sanders. Robin Lopez – The Hornets/Pelicans center has been swatting balls at a rate of 1.9 per game, good for 13th overall in the league. He has great percentages and won’t hurt you with points (11.9 per night) either.
Derrick Favors – Despite missing a few games with an injury, Favors still has a favors-able 1.9 BPG with 7.5 RPG and 9.3 PPG. He’s also close to the 65% cut off and will probably pass that once he gets some games under his belt again.
Bismack Biyombo – This is more of a deep league option, some might say a desperation option, with his palty 4.1 PPG and anemic FT%. However, 1.8 blocks every night is still good for something.
Kosta Koufos – He has been good for an average of a block and a half per game, and his rebounds and points are enough to keep you alive, but they certainly won’t entice. Like Biyombo, the FT% is poor, but like Bis, he barely takes any free throws, so it won’t affect the ratios that much.
Jason Maxiell – He has been up and down all year about where he’ll stand with the Pistons, but regardless, his 8.6/6.5 average with 1.5 blocks is good enough that he should be owned in greater than 13% of leagues.
Jermaine O’Neal – As noted the other day, his production has really dropped off, but he has been good for 1 1/2 blocks per night all season. I’m not sure I can get past his paltry minutes, however.
