Kevin Love should have listened to those before him, put the workout aside and found some place to rock out, but noooo, he had to try and keep his body in tip top shape. We know that those who try are the first to fail, and Mr. Love broke the third and fourth metacarpals on his shooting hand during a morning workout. I hope that’s not also his “this hotel room gets Cinemax” hand. According to team doctors, he will miss the next 6-8 weeks, which means he won’t be back until December, possibly as late as that big holiday in December, St. Stephen’s Day. If you already have Love in your heart and on your team, nothing to do but suck it up and remind yourself that’s one reason not to hold your draft on October 3. If you still have a draft to look forward to, Love will have value when he returns, but he’s not worth a top five pick. He should probably be grabbed by the 4th round, but where he is taken all depends on your league. Chances are, someone in autodraft will snag him well before then.

In more “Power Forwards Dropping Like Panties At A  Justin Bieber Concert” news, Dirk Nowitzki is considering surgery, which is never a good thing. Of course, having your knee swell is also never a good thing, unless you are from an alien planet and the knee is the reproductive organ, and also it’s important for your reproductive organ to swell. Mine is doing swell, thanks for asking. Nowitzki is going to take it easy over the next few days to see if the knee improves, but if not, he will have surgery, which will likely keep him out through December. Boy, it’s starting to look like we should just nap until January and then do our drafts then. Maybe Derrick Rose will be back by then.
