I don’t know today’s title has a Boston accent, just sorta happened!  Tyreke Evans absolutely tore up the Thunder last night, slashing-n-gashing his way to a 41/9/8/3/0 line with only one turnover.  I don’t know what’s crazier, that line or a Pelicans win!  That starting NO line-up other than Evans was scrub city.  If you followed the news leading up to this game, it went from Evans being unlikely to play a mere hour-and-a-half before tip, to getting the start right before the game started.  The emotional toil on fantasy owners was bigger than in Silver Linings Playbook!  Since the All-Star Break, right around when the Pels finally decided to start this guy, Evans has been a monster averaging 17.1/5.4/6.1.  He’s also boosted his FG% and actually made a three or two, despite a 3PT% even Josh Smith thinks is poopy.  But despite a big second half, the Pelicans owner isn’t too impressed.  Haha, that was hilarious – I made highlights for this game if you couldn’t tell.  Been a lucky run for my games the past two, getting this one and the Corey Brewer one Friday!  Almost 100 points from those two!  Hopefully the Pelicans realize they need Evans as a starter in 14-15, but it’s tough to see another stretch with 6+ dimes next year with a healthy Jrue Holiday.  If the price is right, I’ll be a buyer next season, however Evans seems to always have a little more hype than substance ever since his rookie year.  If this second half inflates some big buzz next year, I’ll be about as deadpan as the Pelicans owner!  Here’s what else I saw last night in fantasy basketball action:

Austin Rivers – I semi-hyped him up for next year yesterday, and the first game he plays after that he tries to start a fight with Nick Collison.  Rivers was looking pretty good, but got ejected after only 14 minutes which was another factor in the big Evans game.

Serge Ibaka – Was the only OKC player that seemed to show up.  22/16/5/1/1 and fueling another high rank from me for next year.

Rajon Rondo – Trip-dub missed because not enough points?!  Be aggressive, be be aggressive!  Going to love Rondo next year.

Jeff Green – Oh sure, nowwwww you pick a time to near rainbow with 27/3/1/3/2.  Well, wait, it was against the 76ers…  Doesn’t count.

Michael Carter-Williams – Legit rainbowed.  21/14/6/4/2.  I can remember the past, despite me not admitting to being horribly wrong on this yet, and I can remember saying I thought MCW would get shut down.  Shows a little faith in his durability if ya ask me.

DeMar DeRozan – Sat last night, but just want to reflect on how nice a sleeper call that was…

Chris Douglas-Roberts – You could list, well, pretty much the whole Bobcats roster before you’d guess CDR would hit a game-winner for em…  I need CPR after that CDR!  Or maybe I should nickname him “blank disc”.  Haha, I hope people can get that…

Gerald Henderson – Where there was a good DeRozan call, there was a horrible Hendo call…

Mike Scott – Took 23 shots?!  That’s like me pushing the limit in college!  Well, the Hawks rested everyone including Dominique Wilkins, so I guess that makes a little more sense.  Still, next highest was 13 from Sweet Lou Williams, and on top of it all the Hawks almost won!  Psshhh, end of season weirdness galore!

Wesley Johnson – Super rainbow!  12/6/4/5/3.  The Lakers have been awesome at cranking out crooked stats, mainly their L column.

Nick Young – Whoopty dah, the world’s biggest ballhog puts up 41 on the Jazz playing for a scrub team.  I still think his haircut looks like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, so I can’t take him serious.

Zach Randolph – Man I miss T Dawg from The Walking Dead!  32/9/2/1/0 from Z-Bo in a critical Grizz win.

Gorgui Dieng – Unstoppable.  14/11/3/1/2.  Please tell me the hype dies down, please tell me the hype dies down!

Draymond Green – WHOA!  #OccupyDraymondGreen with a slugfest of a start!  20/12/5/4/2 in a rainbow, shooting 7-9 FG (4-5 3PTM 2-2 FT) and absolutely demolishing the Wolves with a +/- of +27 in 38 minutes.  Klay Thompson had the second-highest +/- at +13 this game for reference.  Man, if Green can get consistent minutes next year as the sixth man, I’m gonna occupy it so hard…

Next Game:  Another TNT OT tonight!  Last regular season TNT Overtime, so be sure to hop over if you’re watching on TNT anyway.  Which for NYK @ BKN, I don’t blame ya if you’re not!  And sadly but truly, tomorrow will be the last wrap-up of the season, with previews for the final Wednesday for Roto players.  Then a slight break for me until next week when we start reviewing the rankings and build out the Way Too Early Rankings for 2014-15!  So basketball will be here all year long and looking forward to what should be an explosive NBA draft!
