Well, there won’t be too many rainbows though!

Coming into the season, I thought it would be really hard for Devin Booker to do much this year. Then both Suns combo guards go down, and Booker took off, playing some really solid ball in his first full month as the starting 2, scoring 17 PPG on 45% from the field. But February was unkind, as the grind caught up to him and the FG% fell to 33.6% and the scoring down to 13.5. He has been able to maintain a great FT volume though even in cold stretches, so he doesn’t completely turn into a dirty pirate Booker. Last night against the Heat he found his stroke again, breaking out of his ice cold slump and hitting 11-21 from the field (3-7 3PTM), along with 9-9 freebies, for 34/3/4.  LeVar Burton ain’t got nothin’ on me!  I could see a lot of owners dumping him in this cold stretch, so it might be worth double-checking on his availability in shallowers.  Long-term, it kinda sounds like the Suns have soured on Brandon Knight a little, so I could see them moving his contract this offseason, especially with caps expanding and teams more able to adsorb the $.  If that happens, I could see the Suns starting Booker but making him overrated on draft day.  I like the kid’s game for how raw he came into the league, but the AST have been sporadic at best and he doesn’t get steals.  If not for a little FT volume he’d be a pretty clear-cut ThrAGNOF.  Don’t overpay!  And let’s get my boyfriend Knight a better job…  Here’s what else went down last night in fantasy hoops action:

Tyson Chandler – You big Tyson Chicken you!  6/3 and nada.  Welcome to the drop zone!

Alex Len – He’s sooooo much better.  12/13/1/0/1.  40 minutes too, compared to 19 for the Big Chicken.

Joe Johnson – Ohhhhhhh, maybe sommemmmmememeeebody got this one right!  Paltry 8/3/2/0/0 in 31 minutes.  I think he’ll usually be a little better than THAT, but averaging out his Heats numbers thus far is now ho-hum.  Which isn’t a 12er must-hold to me.

Goran Dragic – Really improving since his calf strain, with a nice 25/7/4/1/0 line hitting 10-18 FG with 3 treys.   Just needed a matchup against the Suns scrubs to whip out his dragon again.

Anthony Davis – With Tim Duncan on him, the Pels only fed him for 12 shots?!  17/13/1/2/2 on 7-12 shooting, which is yet another travesty in coaching and management for the worst NBA franchise.

LaMarcus Aldridge – Finally fitting into his niche, for a nice 26/8/1/0/1 line on 11-19 shooting.  his numbers haven’t had a dramatic pre/post All-Star split, but it has taken off since February, and his numbers by month keep improving.  I could see his boring start deflating some draft value next year.

Kawhi Leonard – 30 Pts last night which was awesome for me, but even awesomer for Paul on the 30-pt Challenge Board!  I didn’t think the Pels would hang in the game like that…  Then again, it was on the road, the only place the Spurs can lose…

Dallas Mavericks – Lost to the Kings?!?!?!?!  At home?!??!?!?!  What is going on out here?!?!?!?!  Who is to blame?!?!?!?!?!  Well, probably Wesley Matthews and his 2-9 FG for 4 Pts.  Way to just tank on my No Halftime selection, Wes.  That contract could end up being an Achilles heel for Dallas…

David Lee – 12/11/1/1/1 in only 18 minutes.  6-9 FG too.  I can’t believe I’m arguing for MORE playing time for Lee, but looks like he shoulda gotten more run in this one!

Rudy Gay – With the trade deadline passing in a lot of leagues, it’ll be tough to get Gay on the cheap, but his 9/7/1/2/0 line of meh last night seems like a good buy low.

Stephen Curry – To the game of the night, Curry remains a deity.  33/4/4/1/1, “only” 5-15 from deep, but only 1 TO as well.  Warriors are unstoppable.

Kevin Durant – Quaddub flirt!  32/10/9/9  Ah, always fun to make the TO joke…  32/10/9 with 9 TO, but dide hit 11-17 FG and 10-11 FT.

Sorry for the shorter update this morning, epic exhaustion of my pitcher ranks took all my time!  I need a breather, coach!  I need a water break!  If you’re gearing up for fantasy baseball, check out my Top 100 SP, and good luck in your matchups this weekend, Razzball Nation!
