I trust everyone has been a good boy or girl this year, and has sent their wish list to Santa already, right? I have it on good authority that jolly old St. Nick is a huge NBA fan, so naturally I suggest you ask for fantasy help. And I have a strategy: bear in mind, if you ask for too much, you get burned for being greedy, and you will get coal bricks under your tree (like Drummond at the free throw line, amirite?? Awful, sorry.). So, that in mind, I’m simply asking for dimes. I need help with assists in my 2 leagues, I took Kyrie in both leagues, and he is not exactly packing that stat line, I have Jameer, and he’s been on and off the court… well, whining to you guys won’t do anything about it. But whining to Santa will. It has to, as there is no quality points on my waiver. And with that let me bend your eyeballs to a few guys that might make excellent stocking stuffers:Please, blog, may I have some more?
So Russell Westbrook played yesterday… Ummm… What?
After hurting his knee in last year’s playoffs, then requiring a second surgery on October 1st, Westbrook was one of the biggest fantasy news stories early in preseason with an uncertain timetable. Well that table has expired much earlier than anyone expected, and Westbrook was out there without a minutes restriction last night. It’s like the first surgery was done in Hostel, then the next one at the X-Mansion. Seriously, reports ranged from from early to mid-December as a target return date, but a little Adamantium in your bones goes a long way! The good news is he’s back, but the bad (and frankly, not shocking) news is he was mighty rusty. In nearly 33 minutes, Westbrook shot only 5-16 (0-2 3PTM 11-14 FT) for 21 points, with 4 Reb and 7 Ast and 4 TOs. Besides shooting like Michael Chiklis, you’ll take that line any day. Very encouraging to see Westbrook get to the line that frequently, and the minutes were indeed non-limited. He looked pretty Westbrook-ish in highlights as well. Even if Westbrook isn’t quite the player he was the past few seasons, all owners are looking at a steal for where they got him post-second surgery. Here’s what else I saw over the weekend in fantasy hoops action:Please, blog, may I have some more?
In my brief period bringing you the fantasy basketball goods, I feel like I have been steadfast with my picks and decisions as the doings and goings of the NBA facilitate. Somebody yesterday made an outrageous claim that I wasn’t on Tobias Harris early on with a hokum situation. Never head back from ya, bro!
But as I responded, I was way wrong on Thomas Robinson and have admitted that numerous times. Who deals their two biggest-minute PFs at the same time bringing in a PF only not to play him? C’mon Rockets! I still think Robinson is a great raw talent and depending on how things shake out in the offseason might be a sleeper for me in 2013-2014.
And that brings me to that other Robinson who I have been down on all year. Last night, Nate Robinson played 33 minutes off the bench and shot 10-18 (5-11 3PTM 10-10 FT) 35 Pts 3 Rebs 2 Asts and 1 Blk. Despite the huge burst of points, that’s all Robinson’s big contribution is: points. Not that that’s a bad thing, but it’s the easiest category to fill. Then you move to the 3’s and ThrAGNOFF! I was wrong OK, dude can play well enough to be fantasy usable! He’s owned in most leagues, so if he burned you at all in the finals, feel free to troll comment. I was watching this game and the Bulls were running isos for him down the stretch. Shows how much they need his offense.
Here’s what else happened last night in the 2 NBA games:Please, blog, may I have some more?
K-Mart, the retail store I’m talking here, has always been a joke. The one next to campus where I went to college always got robbed and there was always someone with a gun. I know there’s a popular site People of Walmart, which would be pretty interesting for K-Mart too if there ever actually was people in K-Marts. Maybe shoppers there treat the store like Dawn of the Dead. They’re just ducking and covering, and steal supplies stealthily which is why the shelves are always empty. Well I guess they have been in the news recently because of their great Black Friday deals. Hey, if DeMarcus Cousins can’t shoot better than 1-10 or 2-10 like he has in the last two ganes, he might be in one of the lines. “We’re moving to Seattle, but we’re not taking you!” Good thing the NBA version’s of K-Mart showed he isn’t completely chapter 11, going a respectable 16 Pts (4-6 FG 3-5 3PTM) 4 Rebs 4 Asts and 2 Stls. Hey I just said Kevin Martin wasn’t bankrupt… Not that he is suddenly on fire! Damn K-Mart (the smoldering store). Most rebounds since Jan. 9th, first 30+ min game in 7 games, and luckily he’s still in the OKC mix. Only two games last night, but let’s check out what went down:Please, blog, may I have some more?
Greetings Razzball nation! It is I, Tehol Beddict, your indebted servant, scrutinizing player performances yet again to help you win your fantasy league. Let’s just say that Chris Bosh has had a trying last few days. The guy already gets blasted mercilessly for his resemblance to prehistoric creatures, flaccid rebounding numbers and his many peculiar moments on camera, some which of are on this video. Please, blog, may I have some more?
The man with a name that would drive King George VI off his throne in fits of anger, Thabo Sefolosha shot 7 of 11 from the field, including 5 of 7 from the perimeter, to accumulate 20 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Please, blog, may I have some more?
It’s Wednesday, which means the NBA’s biggest night of the week, and what better way to stay involved then a daily contest from our friends at DraftKings? For some of you out there, you may be thinking your regular fantasy season is dead, so this is a great way to get back in the (fantasy basketball) game. Please, blog, may I have some more?
It was a big night for Bradley Beal. King B.B. hit 5 of 7 from beyond the arc to finish with 22 points (tied for team high), 5 rebound, 4 assists and a steal. However, that was overshadowed by news that John Wall expects to return this Saturday, or soon thereafter. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Mike D’Antoni is basically the only coach I ever talk about, and it’s partly because of the mustache, partly because of his offensive style. Chris Duhon has become revitalized under his old coach’s system. Last night, he shot for 12 points with 11 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 of 5 from downtown. Please, blog, may I have some more?
One thing I absolutely hate, I mean really despise, is when teams relocate. I think it’s a giant middle finger to fans and a blemish on the legacy of the team. That also leads to bizarre team names, like the Lakers in L.A.Please, blog, may I have some more?
