What’s a good playoff intro? Should I do the completely played out Jim Mora thing? “Playofffs? Playoffs? You’re talking about playoffs?” Yea, let’s not do that. Let’s just get to the information you crave in the same fashion Beluga whales do fresh Salmon. My chicken and I have a long day tomorrow of watching Game Of Thrones episodes so I’m gonna cut it short. Here’s what happened this weekend in fantasy basketball:Please, blog, may I have some more?
This was a good game following a good game for Jeff Teague, which is the first time he’s done that since December. On Wednesday, he went for 28 points (3-5 from deep, 12-18 from the line) with 4 rebounds and 11 assists. Please, blog, may I have some more?
It’s Wednesday, which means a metric ass ton of NBA games tonight. If you’re involved with daily play sites like our dear friends DraftKings, especially if you’re looking to take advantage of their $5K Clash ($1,000 to the winner, $5,000 worth of payouts guaranteed!), you may be wondering which guys to target for tonight. Please, blog, may I have some more?
There is a very interesting situation brewing in Toronto, this time involving the guards instead of the big men. Kyle Lowry is still coming off the bench, last night playing 22 minutes, taking 2 shots (missing both from downtown), and throwing in 2 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals. Please, blog, may I have some more?
You see many interesting things on New Year’s Eve, particularly on a train departing from New York. For example, I saw a group of Scottish people, two men, two women, approach a group of college students who had flipped the seats and were using them as footrests. Please, blog, may I have some more?
On Saturday night, Eric Gordon made his season debut in impressive fashion, going for 24 points (5 of 13 FG, 12 of 14 FT), including 2 threes, plus 7 assists and 2 steals. As of early Monday morning, he is only 40% owned in Yahoo! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Last night, O.J. Mayo finished with 4 points on 1-7 shooting (1-5 from downtown), with 3 boards, 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and 6 turnovers. Before that game, he was averaging 8.8 points per game, down from 19.3 on the season. Please, blog, may I have some more?
I’ve seen enough. Injury prone label be damned, Stephen Curry rises to the second tier of the point guard rankings. I’ve always loved the talent but that ankle injury is frightening (I drafted him in the 2nd round last year…sigh). Through 25 games this year Curry has stayed healthy and hasn’t missed a start. He’s also averaging 19.4 points (career high), 4.1 boards, 6.4 assists (career high), 1.6 steals, 2.6 three’s (career high), 89.7% FT, and 42.2% FG (career low). Yeah that’s right, 19.4 points on a career low FG… and it’s not even close to his second lowest percent of 46.2% his rookie season. The guy is a stud and COULD be better if his FG% rises some. Did I also mention his 3P% is a career low 41.7%? These percentages will keep rising, especially since Klay Thompson has regained some of his shooting touch. If you have Curry, you’re probably sitting in a good place because of the draft value you got for him. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Admit it, your palms were getting sweaty when you saw Jeremy Lin come off the bench the other day. He had 7 or fewer points in the prior 5 games. You felt a little ill. “I need some ginger ale,” you tried to say, but your voice was raspy. Please, blog, may I have some more?
One of the frequent names that comes up in Razzball comments is Luis Scola. His 13 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists line is fairly on par with the season (12.7/7.0/1.7) and his career (14.4/7.7/1.9). He has 5 years in the NBA and is 32 years old. Please, blog, may I have some more?
