Mike D’Antoni is basically the only coach I ever talk about, and it’s partly because of the mustache, partly because of his offensive style. Chris Duhon has become revitalized under his old coach’s system. Last night, he shot for 12 points with 11 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 of 5 from downtown.

Alexey Shved scored 17 points last night in Philadelphia making it three straight 15+ point games (17, 16, 17) in a row now. He chipped in 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 block, and hit four three pointers. Not too bad for a guy who’s just 15% owned in yahoo leagues.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Orlando may contain the happiest place on earth (a meth den a mile from Interstate 4), but for the Magic, the season has been a little less than magical. Nevertheless, fans took some joy last night when the team flew into L.A.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Last night, Kobe Bryant scored over half his team’s points (40) and reached a triple double. No, not the good kind of triple double…the kind where you also have 10 turnovers. An absurd line of 40/10/3/3 with 5 3PM, 12-28 FG, 11-13 FT, and the aforementioned 10 turnovers. You’ll live with the high TO’s but the Lakers can’t. In a night of high profile college basketball, the game turned out to be very similar. I didn’t watch, but George Hill (19/5/5/1) hit the game winning shot to win 79-77 over Kobe Bryant. Not to mention that the teams combined for 57 personal fouls (that’s an actual number, not some sarcastic number). Did anybody enjoy watching that? Glad I watched the ACC/Big 10 challenge instead. Anyway, here’s what else happened in the NBA last night:
Darren Collison – Sometimes a coach likes to put a slumping player on the bench and see how he responds.
Please, blog, may I have some more?As I mentioned the past couple weeks, every Wednesday I will release tiers for G/F/C in rotating fashion. Here’s the original tiers, updated Guard tiers, and last week’s Forward tiers. Starting next week, I’ll split this into a morning and afternoon post (morning for recap and afternoon for tiers) to better explain the movement taking place. As always, if you disagree with the tiers then go f*ck yourself. BUT FIRST, the recap of last night’s games:
Nene Hilario – Nope, the Wizards did not play last night but he will return TONIGHT! We’ll see how much playing time he gets, but he is the most offensively-talented big man on the Wizards’ roster. If you own Kevin Seraphin, this is probably the time to drop him if you haven’t already.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Waaarriors! Can you dig it!? Harrison Barnes was diggin’ something last night. He’s struggled in the early going of his NBA career (averaging under 10 points through his first nine games), but with 18 points and 9 rebounds in 35 minutes last night its looking like he might be starting to put it all together.
Please, blog, may I have some more? With significant court time of 34 minutes (he had previously been averaging a mere 22:30 MPG), Kris Humphries scored 14 points, 21 rebounds (6 offensive and 15 defensive) and 1 block. I think Kris will have a very productive season, both for his own team and for your fantasy teams.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Bradley Beal is learning how tough it is to be a Wizard. Now he understands why Harry was always so stressed out. Expelliarmus! Last night Beal scored 22 points night adding 4 rebounds and dishing out 2 assists. The rookie had his best game of the young season and clearly wasn’t even at his best (0-4 on 3 point attempts, but he did go 8-8 from the free throw line).
Please, blog, may I have some more?I considered leading with Greg Monroe and his triple double (and in some ways, I just did), but I decided to comment about Jrue Holiday. He has been off to a great start this season, and last night he put up 14 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists and a block.
Please, blog, may I have some more? After another solid game of 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks, Marcin Gortat is looking like quite the deal from draft day. On Friday, he went 16/16 with 3 blocks, and on Halloween, he went 10/9 with 5 blocks. Before that, he had 14/11 with 4 blocks.
