At this point, any news involving anyone on the Nuggets can be considered Carmelo news. It’s ‘Melo’s galaxy, everyone else is just orbiting in it, baby! That includes Al Harrington, who left in the first quarter with what was described as a dislocated thumb.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Marvin Williams
When Bob Geldof gathered dozens of European musicians together to sing Do They Know It’s Christmas? in the mid-’80s, he did it presumably because of the famine rampant in Ethiopia. I say presumably, because it’s possible Geldof just assumed all Ethiopians were atheists and would have no reason to know that it is the birthday of someone who they don’t even believe exists.
Please, blog, may I have some more?I discussed Thaddeus Young earlier today. It was awesome! You shoulda been there! You were? Well, then no wonder you don’t remember what I said. That’s how awesome it was. It erased your brain! I’ll make this blurb a little less awesome so you’ll remember it long enough to add Young to your team.
Please, blog, may I have some more? How do you pronounce Shawne Williams‘ first name? Is he going to add an apostrophe after a few more games like Stoudemire? Make it Shawn’e? Or is it pronounced “Shawn-E?” Weren’t the Shawnee an American Indian tribe wiped out by smallpox in the mid-1800s?
Please, blog, may I have some more?Marvin Williams strung together a trio of decent games this week (15/8 while shooting .586 from the field) and now Joe Johnson is recovering from having ‘loose bodies’ in his elbow. It’s not as bad as Robert Mapplethorpe’s collection of elbows in loose bodies, but still.
Please, blog, may I have some more? The Atlanta Hawks, record-wise, are winners. They’re 12-7 so far this season. But, really, there isn’t a bigger batch of losers with winning records out there. They rely on Mike Bibby to give ‘em 29 minutes per game. Marvin Williams still hasn’t turned into the dynamic swingman they hoped for … yet still starts for Atlanta.
Please, blog, may I have some more?I’ve never liked Jamal Crawford‘s game. A sharpshooter with a .409 career FG% has always seemed like a headache I don’t need. I’ve never owned him in any league during any season, so perhaps I’m just not used to his charm.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Look, I’m not going to go nuts here and tell you that Andrea Bargnani is terrible or overrated or any other hyperbolic fluff that clearly isn’t true. Bargs can play. He’s averaging 19 points in 32 minutes per NBA game. That’s something even I can’t do, and I’m great at basketball, according to my rec-league teammates.
Please, blog, may I have some more? With thousands of fantasy teams floating hither and yon, there’s bound to be one out there that started Bogut, Camby, Jeff Green, Brooks, Nelson, Martin, Carter, Delfino and Harris. To that team I ask, can I interest you in fantasy hockey?
Please, blog, may I have some more?Above all else, remember this: you should ignore the preseason. There are myriad reasons to ignore it. It’s inaccurate for one. For two, it’s not representational of what the regular season team rotations will be. For hirds, many of the starters (i.e the guys that will end up on your fantasy team come draft day) are going at 60 percent.
