It’s been the Kobe Bryant show over in LA and will remain that way until Steve Nash comes back. This is an extremely small sample size but Pau Gasol arguably had his best game this year when Nash was handling the ball (the first game of the year!).Please, blog, may I have some more?
Kris Humphries (3/4/0 with 2 blocks) fouled Kevin Garnett (16/10/1) somewhat hard (his flopping made it look worse than it was). Rajon Rondo (6/1/3 with 2 steals) took exception to the contact, and since NBA players are mature, emotionally well-adjusted individuals, a brawl ensued, resulting in the ejection of Humpy and Rondo. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Last night, Kobe Bryant scored over half his team’s points (40) and reached a triple double. No, not the good kind of triple double…the kind where you also have 10 turnovers. An absurd line of 40/10/3/3 with 5 3PM, 12-28 FG, 11-13 FT, and the aforementioned 10 turnovers. Please, blog, may I have some more?
As I mentioned the past couple weeks, every Wednesday I will release tiers for G/F/C in rotating fashion. Here’s the original tiers, updated Guard tiers, and last week’s Forward tiers. Starting next week, I’ll split this into a morning and afternoon post (morning for recap and afternoon for tiers) to better explain the movement taking place. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Thanks to a triple overtime game between the Raptors and Jazz, there were some crazy minutes played. DeMar DeRozan played an hour of basketball and produced 37 points (16-33 FG, 1-6 3P), 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Maurice Williams played only 50 minutes and had 17 points (3 threes), 14 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks (and 7 turnovers. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Like his white gooey namesake, O.J. Mayo globbed on 32 points thanks in part to 6 of 8 three point attempts (that’s 18 points from downtown for those of you keeping score at home). He only had 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals, but the guy was busy carrying the entire team on his shoulders, so we can probably give him a pass. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Before I get into draft stuff, I wanted to give everyone a head’s up that Steve Nash has a boo-boo and is likely to miss four or so weeks. More news as it develops. Now on to draft stuff…
Due to some last minute procrastinators (I can relate!), I ended up commishing two of the Razzball Commenter Leagues, both of which drafted last week. Please, blog, may I have some more?
After another solid game of 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks, Marcin Gortat is looking like quite the deal from draft day. On Friday, he went 16/16 with 3 blocks, and on Halloween, he went 10/9 with 5 blocks. Before that, he had 14/11 with 4 blocks. Please, blog, may I have some more?
“The Bearded One” James Harden remains the story in the young NBA season as he put up 45 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists in Atlanta last night to lead the Rockets to their second win. Harden shot 14-19 from the floor and hit 2 3-pointers.Please, blog, may I have some more?
Ask and ye shall receive (unless it’s money, I’m broke). If you see anyone I missed or guys that you think should be included (I did NOT miss Hasheem Thabeet), shout it out in the comments. I’ll tell you which tier I’d put em in or why I did not/would not include them. Please, blog, may I have some more?
