Oh-ah No-ah, JoaNoah

So this is a blow to your team. Or a blow-ah, if you’re into continuous rhyming patterns. Joakim Noah will have surgery on his thumb that, by most accounts, will lay him low until February or March. Before you continue reading, go grab Taj Gibson.

“Ak-ron! Hates You!”

LeBron James felt, for a fleeting moment, like Bruce Springsteen. A stadium full of Midwesterners wearing t-shirts with his face on it, signs requesting that he do stuff; all waiting for the man of the night to put on a show.

In The Land O’Lakes, Beasley’s Like Buttah

The Minnesota brass tried to warn us. They told the whole world Michael Beasley had cleaned up his act, rededicated himself and bought, like, five braid pattern books for his hair in the offseason. And so far, dude is charging through defenses and those cornrow styling publications at an alarming clip.

Jamal Shook Up

I’ve never liked Jamal Crawford‘s game. A sharpshooter with a .409 career FG% has always seemed like a headache I don’t need. I’ve never owned him in any league during any season, so perhaps I’m just not used to his charm.

The Most Disappointing Center? Andrea. Bar None-i

Look, I’m not going to go nuts here and tell you that Andrea Bargnani is terrible or overrated or any other hyperbolic fluff that clearly isn’t true. Bargs can play. He’s averaging 19 points in 32 minutes per NBA game. That’s something even I can’t do, and I’m great at basketball, according to my rec-league teammates.

Yellin’ Of Troy

New Jersey’s Troy Murphy started not only the first game of the season Wednesday, but also his first as a Net. I know to you and me that sounds like bad news, but apparently he was really looking forward to it.

2010 Fantasy Basketball, Risky Picks

October 14, 2010 | 2010 Fantasy Basketball Draft | 7 Comments

by: Adam+

You gotta love risk. In the end, risk is the reason any of us enjoy fantasy sports. If risk didn’t permeate every facet of fantasy, what’s left? Is that rhetorical or are you asking for real? Meh. Let’s say I’m asking for real.

Even the Boozers Get Unlucky Sometimes

October 8, 2010 | Fantasy Basketball Daily Notes | 6 Comments

by: Adam+

In a tragedy fit for Dick Van Dyke, Chicago’s Carlos Boozer threw off everyone’s draft rosters earlier this week by tripping over a bag on his way to answering the doorbell and breaking his hand. What is Boozer’s house like that there is no clear path to the front door?

2010 Fantasy Team Preview, Phoenix Suns

It’s not always easy to keep perspective. Like when the 410 lb. orca whale purchasing $30-worth of Burger King for himself double-checks with the cashier that the soda he was served is Diet. But we here at Razzball know how difficult maintaining perspective can be, especially when you’re drunk and trying to sketch moving objects.
