People had grown increasingly frustrated with Robin Lopez. With Anthony Davis back, he saw a mere 15 minutes the day before, and in the past week, he was only averaging 7.5 PPG and 3.3 RPG. Well, Davis finished with 16/5/0 and a block while Lopez earned 22 points, 9 rebounds, an assist and 2 blocks.

I’ve seen enough. Injury prone label be damned, Stephen Curry rises to the second tier of the point guard rankings. I’ve always loved the talent but that ankle injury is frightening (I drafted him in the 2nd round last year…sigh). Through 25 games this year Curry has stayed healthy and hasn’t missed a start. He’s also averaging 19.4 points (career high), 4.1 boards, 6.4 assists (career high), 1.6 steals, 2.6 three’s (career high), 89.7% FT, and 42.2% FG (career low). Yeah that’s right, 19.4 points on a career low FG… and it’s not even close to his second lowest percent of 46.2% his rookie season. The guy is a stud and COULD be better if his FG% rises some. Did I also mention his 3P% is a career low 41.7%? These percentages will keep rising, especially since Klay Thompson has regained some of his shooting touch. If you have Curry, you’re probably sitting in a good place because of the draft value you got for him.
Please, blog, may I have some more?I never thought I’d talk about him again this season, unless he got a DUI or something, but Lamar Odom had a pretty good night with 6 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. The game before, he went 10/5/1/0/1 and before that, 5/9/2/2/3.
Please, blog, may I have some more?In Kyrie Irving’s first game back from injury, he helped the Cavs beat the Lakers. Surprised? You shouldn’t be, because the Lakers stink right now. Now a confession… the headline was lying. Now are you surprised? Irving punished the Lakers going 28/6/11/1 with four 3PM and shooting 11-21 from the field. Now that he has shaken off the rust, we should expect him to score 100 points in his next game. Sorry that’s irrational me. Rational me says if you own Irving then be very happy, and if you traded for him, then make fun of the owner that traded him to you immediately. Like right now. DO IT NOW. Yikes!

DeMar DeRozan played an hour of basketball and produced 37 points (16-33 FG, 1-6 3P), 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Maurice Williams played only 50 minutes and had 17 points (3 threes), 14 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks (and 7 turnovers.

Every Wednesday morning I’ll update my tiers on a rotating basis for guards, forwards, and centers (i.e. Guards this week, Forwards next week, etc.) The first run through of tiered rankings may not differ much from my original rankings because there haven’t been many games played. Don’t like it? Well there will be no vote on this since this is a dictatorship. However, you can destroy me in the comments as much as you please.
Please, blog, may I have some more?After another solid game of 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks, Marcin Gortat is looking like quite the deal from draft day. On Friday, he went 16/16 with 3 blocks, and on Halloween, he went 10/9 with 5 blocks. Before that, he had 14/11 with 4 blocks.

“The Bearded One” James Harden remains the story in the young NBA season as he put up 45 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists in Atlanta last night to lead the Rockets to their second win. Harden shot 14-19 from the floor and hit 2 3-pointers.
