There was wide speculation yesterday afternoon that Baron Davis would make his season debut against the team that released him five weeks ago after he told them he wouldn’t be healthy for at least eight. Whoops. Davis didn’t show his mug last night, but all signs point to this weekend.

Mike Miller is set to to make his season debut with the Heat today, which is particularly fortuitous (if I may use that term on a family blog) as the news makes the rounds of Dwyane Wade likely missing more games has resulted in thousands of monkey-punches to the groins of thousands of fantasy basketball teams.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Let’s just get it out of the way now: I don’t follow college basketball. Every year, a new line of freshman enter the league and I think, “It would really be helpful if I knew anything about these guys.” Then a squirrel passes outside my window or a dust particle hitting the sunlight catches my eye and I’ve already forgotten what I was just thinking about.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Every once in a while when my DVR is empty and there are no dead cats in the alley for me to watch the raccoons chew on, I take a slow walk on over to my local post office and do a little pre-holiday shopping for my girlfriend.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Delonte West started in place of Rajon Rondo‘s nagging pinky injury. Or is it pinkie? Does it matter? You know what I mean either way. I could have typed “pinkee” and you would have accepted it. But that’s poor spelling and you ought not let me get away with lazy writing.
Please, blog, may I have some more? After a small hubbub over Kevin Love‘s return date, the smoke has cleared a bit and tells us that he’s still targeting Sunday as his return date. I’m not sure how smoke clearing can tell anyone anything, or whether I should have gone with kerfuffle instead of hubbub, but the point is, your Anthony Randolph pickup has a shelf-life.
Please, blog, may I have some more?I know Toney Douglas and his nine threes deserves to kickoff today’s daily notes, but sometime early in the fourth quarter of the Bulls-Nets game, today’s headline came to me and I jumped on it. I’m not sure you guys realize a) how few things sound like Douglas or b) how difficult it is to come up with terrible puns five days a week.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Serge Ibaka had 14 rebounds and seven blocks yesterday. Danny Ainge is smart, but Darrell Morey Sam Presti is smarter. A full year of Ibaka at PF next season is going to be huge. After just seven games this month, Ibaka has more blocks (25) than in either of the last two.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Danny Granger didn’t score his first two points until 7:16 in the second quarter. By the time he sank his first shot he had already bricked seven – four of which were from downtown – and I had long ago hurled my plate full of Hot Pockets at my TV.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Houston’s Kyle Lowry dropped seven threes last night, making it 24 bombs in six games. That’s a league-high, the current franchise best and a wicked, wicked third-tier keeper option for your team come the fall. Lowry is ranked 16th in the league in assists and 15th in the league in steals per game, which ain’t too shabby considering he was just a seagull on the submarine’s radar during the preseason and was drafted in fewer than 25 percent of this season’s drafts.
