We’ve all been guilty of it at one point or another.  Maybe the great ones, you know, someone like The Dude, haven’t been guilty of trying to look into the future.  For us mere mortals life isn’t so easy that all we need to do is throw on our best pair of Birkenstocks and face the day as it comes to us.  At this time of year in fantasy, it’s time to forget about the prospects and focus on the here and now.  There aren’t any September call-ups… wait, where are you all going?  Baseball hasn’t started yet.  Fine, go, be gone with you then!  Ahem…  For those of us still playing for a championship – ohhh *snaps fingers* out of the playoffs burn!  Excuse me.  For those of us still playing for championships, *smirk*, we can’t afford to worry about the what ifs, we can only concern ourselves now with the what has, so here are my weekend streamers of who wills:

Patrick Beverley – PG/SG – Hou – Pat Bev Devoe is a hot add right now and I think he is in for a big weekend.  We’re looking for 3’s, a bunch of steals, and even a block or 2.  He shouldn’t hurt us anywhere he just doesn’t help the assists like we would expect from a starting PG not named George Hill.  Friday vsInd and Sun vsPor look daunting, but I don’t expect either game to be a blow out which should mean Beverley sees 35 minutes in both games.

Alec Burks – PG/SG – Uta – Burks’ minutes have fluctuated a bit but he’s still averaging right about 30 per game regardless.  He should chip in a ton of points with a smattering of other stats.  Friday @NY is a plus match-up and it doesn’t get much better than Saturday @Phi.  I believe Burks is due for a monster weekend.  Burks gets another 4 game week next week including a game on Monday if you’re already looking ahead to next week.

Brian Roberts – PG/SG – NO – This was a bad call of mine last weekend but Roberts got his minutes back on Monday and Tuesday so once again I think he’s in for a nice weekend.  I don’t expect his stat lines to be crazy but Friday vsMil and Sunday vsDen are plus match-ups for anyone seeing big minutes.

Jerryd Bayless – PG/SG – Bos – Bayless is still under 10% owned after seeing 30+ minutes for 4 straight games so luckily he’s probably available in your league.  With all the injuries still plaguing the Boston back court I expect no less than 30 more minutes in both games this weekend.  I expect plenty of points, some 3s, some steals, and the chance at 3 or 4 assists per game.  Friday vsBkn and Sun vsDet are both plus match-ups as far as I can tell and then maybe Bayless will have earned your trust enough to keep him around for his 4 game week next week.

Corey Brewer – SG/SF – Min – Brewer is another guy who’s been hot recently.  I don’t expect much help in boards or assists but if I was desperately scouring the wire for steals this weekend Brewer would be my first choice.  Friday vsDet and Sunday vsTor should help to make him a solid all around weekend play.

Kyle Singler – SG/SF – Det – The returns from Singler look to be diminishing, but I’m not so sure that’s the case.  He only saw 22 minutes last Saturday vsHou but that was due to foul trouble.  His shot wasn’t falling Monday vsNY but he still managed a multi-cat stat line.  Singler will help with 3s, some mid level points, boards, and assists, while also throwing in a few steals and/or blocks.  Friday @Min and Sunday @Bos should both be uptempo games and Singler should thrive.

Giannis Antetokounmpo – SG/SF – Mil – Alphabet Soup hasn’t quite got to 30 minutes in his past 5 games and I can’t guarantee he’s going to this weekend either.  However he still managed some very useful multi-cat lines.  I expect steals, blocks, and 3s, along with 3-4 assists, and 4-6 boards.  If that’s what you need, actually I’m pretty sure that’s what everyone needs, then Antetok could be your guy.  Friday @NO is nice but Saturday vsWas could go either way.  The Bucks play 5 games next week so there’s a good chance you will wind up holding on to Antetok past this weekend.

Jeff Adrien – SF/PF – Mil – Pete Nice already mentioned Adrien earlier in the week and I think it’s already time to stream him.  20 boards in these next 2 games is completely reasonable, well then what about 50 boards in a 5 game week next week?  That’s by no means out of the question.  For good measure throw in a decent shot at a steal and a block per game and I have no trouble endorsing Jeff Adrien Friday @NO and Saturday vsWas and once again in 5 games next week even if he only sees 20 minutes per game.

Elton Brand – PF/C – Atl – It’s starting to look like old man Brand can still play big minutes.  Obviously there’s no way he can survive that, but we just want a couple of games out of him for his boards plus high end steals and blocks.  With Atlanta still struggling to field a full team Brand should get big minutes again for Friday @GS and Saturday @LAC.

Reggie Evans – PF – Sac – Another of Pete’s favorites and we all know by now what Reggie Evans can do.  As long as he gets 20+ minutes in Sacramento he’s going to give 10+ boards.  Friday @Tor and Sunday @Bkn are 2 games he could excel in.  A four game week next week could see Reggie Evans being the difference in boards once again.
