@Tony, Yeah, Fenris-77 has got it right. $20 dollars sounds like a fair auction bid, but it sounds like he would go for more. Kyrie went for $50 but Kyrie was a top 50 player last year, and could break top 20 this year. I might bid as much as $25 for Beal in your keeper league if you really like him, 2012 aside, he could have a very bright future. But if you have the $$$ to spend, I might be inclined to use it all on a rookie like Anthony Davis, Lillard or Kidd-Gilchrist instead.

Kyrie is more Anthony Davis than Beal IMO, but Beal is still worth investing in. I guess it depends on who your current keepers are and how your keeper salary works (does it rise every year, stay the same, ect). Beal looks pretty good, but if you already have good keepers then you’d probably be best served to invest elsewhere, since most rookies won’t be worth an inflated salary in their first year. Beal could struggle to crack the top 100 this year, so you’d have to have at least one pretty wide open keeper slot to roll the dice with him.

If you do decide to draft him I don’t think I’d go more than $20 for him unless you have cash to burn. I’d rather pay less, but your league seems like a special case. Personally, I’d rather invest in Lillard, but he might go for quite a bit in your league.

what do you think Beal’s worth? We keep 4, rookies, if desired, can go for ALOT…. this might be the guy you base the future of your team on…. Kyrie went for $50 last year? insane, but he’s projecting as a top 15 guy now this year and any top 20 player is worth about $50 in an 18 teamer. The key is getting a rookie (or anyone) cheap somehow, then holding them and reaping the benefits. Usually in our draft there’s more money than there are players almost so salaries are inflated, what would you say for the future of beal and his price tag now?
