Another week has wrapped up in the Razzball Elite League, with The Nature Boy putting together a big 7-1-1 win to move into first place.  For your truly, it was another infuriating loss to a team of scrubs.  Which makes my guys even more scrubbish!  Turrible.  Recaps from the owners who want to share their triumphs and tribulations are below, good luck to all you deep leaguers in week 7!

5. Breaking Batum (34-20-0)

FAAB Remaining: $84  FAAB Moves this week: Robert Sacre ($10), Jimmer Fredette ($3)

In Week 6 we were a top 5 team in 6 of 9 scoring categories which was our best statistical week of the season. We didn’t want to rest on our fortune as we made the most FAAB bids of the season and came away with a few wild cards to replace injured players. Sacre was probably an over spend, but we desperately needed a big man to fill the shoes of the oft injured Al Harrington. If we can get 15 minutes of high energy play out of him a night then mission accomplished. With Vasquez jettisoned to T-Dot The Jimmer could see some “quality” run and we saw it as a risk worth taking in this deep of a league. These moves should help to solidify our lineup while we wait for the return of JJ Redick.

6. Pete Nice – Razzball    (33-19-2)

I won 7-2 over Ben’s RotoGold team, despite not getting a single game from Kevin Love. The Spurs/Timberwolves game was postponed in Mexico City and then Love missed Saturday’s game because his grandmother passed away. Even without Love, I got solid all-around contribution from my entire roster and was able to get my third 7-2 win of the season.
I put in another waiver claim this week, but lost out on Robert Sacre to Breaking Batum. Even though Sacre isn’t that good, he’s started the last few games for the Lakers and anyone getting starting minutes should be owned in a league this large. I still think that Jordan Hill is the more talented player, but D’Antoni likes to tinker with his rotations. It’ll be interesting to see how he handles the rotation now that Kobe Bryant is back.

Just another grinding loss of 3-6 to Mr. Green’s collection of scrubs.  Seriously, name change idea!  Career games from Ed Davis (21/12 2 blks) Timofey Mozgov (17/20 2 blks) and an 18/7 game from Kris Humphries, who hasn’t been in double-digits all year, was the difference.  Tony Wroten flirting with a triple-double with MCW hurt also tipped the scales.  When it was all said and done, Mr. Scrubs won by 22 pts, 14 rebs and a single block.  If his guys play like they should’ve instead of these outliers (or had I played him this week with Davis hurt), I would’ve been sittin’ pretty with the 6-3 win.  Then again, Marquis Teague scoring 10 points in a game and Khris Middleton’s career-high helped out, but I’m still bitter!  I continue to like my team despite the record with a lot of youth and upside for this year and beyond across my roster.  I’ve got a tough matchup against the #1 team in week 7, and while I’ll never root for injury, I’m hoping MCW stays out this week.  If he is able to make it back tomorrow, I might throw something as I would’ve gone against Wroten while MCW was out, then get MCW the very next week while healthy…  Hulk smash!  Anywho, I made a tiny bid on Jon Leuer for a C, but my limited purse strings have me uber-conservative.  Le’ts get the upset this week Nature Boy!

15. Nashed Potatoes (22-31-1)

FAAB Remaining: $91  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

16.  Slim – Razzball  (21-31-2)

FAAB Remaining: $41  FAAB Moves this week: Jon Leuer ($6)

Domino mother F, what you say about that!  Doughboy is a little crude but accurate as the Rudy Gay trade represents my first Domino falling.  Landry Fields actually started yesterday but was terrible, I’m confident Terrence Ross will average 30 minutes per game from here on out.  My, best week ever, doesn’t stop there, does it, Paul F. Tompkins?  I got starts this past week from Jerryd Bayless, Jeremy Evans, Andrew Nicholson, and Tim Hardaway Jr.  easily eclipsing the previous weeks minute totals.  They didn’t all excel with the opportunity but I can’t possibly complain, at least they got the opportunity.  Is there more good news?  Reggie Jackson, Alec Burks, and PJ Tucker are being heavily added in the more traditional 12-team formats as they settle into 30 minute roles.  There can’t be more good news, can there?  This last week also saw the debut of Otto Porter.  He didn’t do much and he’s not ready but with the sudden rash of injuries for Washington Porter could see a consistent 15-20 minutes off the bench.  I do however have a few guys struggling.  James Anderson, Steven Adams and Anthony Bennetts minutes are fluctuating and all three can’t be trusted right now.  Tyshawn Taylor failed me so it’s time to move on.  OK, so I lost 3-6 for the 3rd straight week but I feel like this team has finally turned a corner and if my minutes continue to climb then a winning streak is certain to follow.

17. Mr Green – Nowhere (21-32-1)

FAAB Remaining: $42  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

As the only team in the bottom 9 to actually win this week, I’d like to say, how the hell did I not even move up one spot in the standings? 17th place, come on man, what’s a guy gotta do? Seriously though, back-to-back wins is feeling pretty good. The worrisome part of my winning this week was that I needed big weeks from a lot of guys to just barely squeak out most categories. I’m hoping that Billups and Ed Davis come back from injury this week, my young guys (Burke, Hollis, Hamilton, and Wroten) keep playing well, and the rest of the old vets don’t get injured. I missed out on my FAAB guys this week, changing my bids on Sunday cost me a couple guys, but I’m not too concerned as it didn’t seem to be a great week for the waiver wire anyway. Time to make it 3 in a row this week. I’m coming for you Pete!
