Week two has wrapped up in the inaugural season of the Razzball Elite League (REL), and things are starting to round into form.. For me that means getting two starters back!  Money!

If you’re still new to hearing about the league, it’s a deep 20-man roster H2H league, standard 9 cat with primarily members of Razzball Nation and a few other friends in the hoops world.  All transactions are made weekly by FAAB on Monday morning and can keep you attune to the dregs of the barrel of guys producing.  Even marginally.  Basically anyone alive.  Here’s how things are looking:

1. The Nature Boy (13-4-1)

FAAB Remaining: $84  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

With a 6-2-1 win this week, the Nature Boy leads the standings after the first two weeks.  While swinging from vine-to-vine like Robin Williams in Jumanji, the Boy has had ridiculous starts from Michael Carter-Williams, Lance Stephenson and Markieff Morris as cheap buys, and also the Gerald Green run with Dragic getting hurt.  With a lot of FAAB left, Nature Boy is the team to beat.

2. Like A Josh – IFBL (12-6-0)

FAAB Remaining: $67  FAAB Moves this week: Perry Jones ($1)

After a 5-4 start, Like a Josh manhandled the Cigar Smoking Monkey 7-2 to move into the top tier of the league.  Getting Brandon Jennings back was huge, then nothing really stood out, this is just a really good team.  And they don’t even have Kobe yet!

3. Barking BassetHounds (12-6-0)

FAAB Remaining: $39  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

Second straight 6-3 win has the Hounds looking good, and like Like a Josh (double word!), is just a deep solid team that makes me shudder looking at my line-up.  Getting J.R. Smith only helps what will be a playoff team.

4. Pete Nice – Razzball (12-6-0)

FAAB Remaining: $50  FAAB Moves this week: Jeff Adrien ($10), Gal Mekel ($9)

After socking it to me last week, Petey went 5-4 to move into the 12-6 tier of teams.  Chris Paul makes Petey a tough team any week.  Pete went heavy on the wire, snatching up Adrien and Mekel.  I really wanted Mekel and bid $6 on him, but really didn’t want to drop anyone so kept the bid small.

5. Breaking Batum (12-6-0)

FAAB Remaining: $97  FAAB Moves this week: Joel Freeland ($2)

Another winning week for Batum rounds out the 12-6 squads, with Rudy Gay finally finding his stroke and Andrea Bargnani getting the big opportunity with Chandler out.  Batum is stockpiling the FAAB for a championship run.

6. Nashed Potatoes (11-7-0)

FAAB Remaining: $91  FAAB Moves this week: Kenyon Martin ($7), Tyler Zeller ($2)

Good thing Nash isn’t really on this team!  Danny Green finally getting it together with Spencer Hawes and his huge week got Nash a 6-3 win.  Hoping to build up some big men, Martin and Zeller were nice cheap FAAB buys this week.

7.  Martyball – IFBL (11-7-0)

FAAB Remaining: $100  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

Still with all the FAAB left, Marty dropped from 8-1 to 11-7 after the 6-3 loss this week.  Nothing is really sticking out as a big reason for the loss – Marty still has a solid squad.

8.  Hoopus Alleyoopus (9-8-1)

FAAB Remaining: $92 FAAB Moves this week: Donald Sloan ($5), Brandon Rush ($3)

Hoopus edges out a plus .500 record despite a 2-6-1 loss this week.  A really down week from Andre Drummond and now losing JaVale McGee has the Hoopus feeling Alley-poopus.  Really like the Brandon Rush buy and feel like I should’ve bid on him after seeing that price.

9. Doug – tdbsports.com (9-9-0)

FAAB Remaining: $98 FAAB Moves this week: n/a

After a 3-6 loss, our friends at The Double Bonus won 6-3 to break even on the season.  Big week from Steph before the ankle injury then a whopping 100-point week from K-Mart has Doug on the upswing.

10. Ben – RotoGold (9-9-0)

FAAB Remaining: $100  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

Well, Ben beat me this week, but it was close.  DeAndre Jordan single-handedly won Ben 2 categories, beating me with his 60 boards and 9 blocks in cats I lost by 12 and 2.  And I lost TOs by 4.  Could’ve easily been a 7-2 game.  Sorry to steal your spotlight Ben!  Still with all the FAAB left, Ben has a contender brewing.

11. Cigar Smoking Monkey (9-9-0)

FAAB Remaining: $89  FAAB Moves this week: Reggie Evans ($10)

A big 7-2 start got wiped away with a 2-7 loss this week, despite big numbers from Anthony Davis.  Unfortunately, only Rubio really stepped up as well.  Cigar hopes to bounce back against Scurry to the Left with some boosted rebounding from Evans.

12. Kap’s Team (8-10-0)

FAAB Remaining: $100  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

After a bottom feeder 1-8 loss, Kap bounced back in a huge way with a 7-2 win to near .500.  Nice turnaround!  The big week from Kevin Love is the core of the team, and Kap has all $100 left for the season.

13. Scurry to the Left (8-10-0)

FAAB Remaining: $100  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

Scurry suffered a second straight heartbreaker going 4-5, especially after losing Goran Dragic that could’ve turned the tables.

14. Kinsey’s Team (8-10-0)

FAAB Remaining: $100 FAAB Moves this week: n/a

A tough 3-6 loss this week for Kinsey at the hands of the Potatoes.  Patrick Beverley back is a huge boost but didn’t help enough this week, and losing Al Jefferson was a deal breaker.

15. Slim – Razzball (6-10-2)

FAAB Remaining: $91  FAAB Moves this week: Darrell Arthur ($6), Darius Morris ($2)

[from Slim] Sigh…  Another week another lo…  Win?!?  Well how did that happen?  JC Superstar, Jordan Crawford, got the starting nod and looks like he may have reincarnated his career.  Roy Hibbert blocked 16 shots to single-handedly win the category.  Alec Burks has decided he can play defense and managed a monster 8 steals to lead my team.  And then there was Lurch, Steven Adams, showing why I payed so heavily for him on draft day.  I still got very little to nothing out of Larry Sanders, Anthony Bennett, Otto Porter, a banged up Jerryd Bayless, Daniel Orton, and Cory Joseph.  The latter 2 having been dropped for Philly’s Darius Morris who I’m hoping to get some assists from and Denver’s Darrell Arthur who could get a nice boost in minutes with McGee going down.  Overall I probably lost minutes compared to week 1 but I think I’m moving in the right direction.  Winning can’t be moving the wrong direction, can it?

16. JB Gilpin – Razzball (6-12-0)

FAAB Remaining: $66  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

Ugh.  A really, really tough 4-5 loss has me stuck in the dumps, and as I already took up part of RotoGold’s space so I won’t belabor too much, but the loss of 12 boards, 2 blocks and 4 TOs was the difference between a 7-2 win and 4-5 loss.  DeAndre Jordan about out-rebounded my whole team.  Ok, not really, but brutal.  I still think I have a solid lineup, and now have Brandon Knight and Wilson Chandler back for a lot of minutes across my team.  I had a bid on Gal Mekel, but didn’t really want to drop anyone so bid a conservative $6 which wasn’t enough.  My team is young and built for the long haul, but with everyone back now, I think I can get to .500 in a few weeks.

17. Team Tough Guy Town (5-11-2)

FAAB Remaining: $100 FAAB Moves this week: n/a

The tough guys had a tough 3-4-2 loss this week at the hands of Slim.  Bradley Beal had a big week, but besides the huge contract of LeBron, no one else stood out.

18. I’m a Currian (6-12-0)

FAAB Remaining: $99  FAAB Moves this week: n/a

Currian had a rough start and bounced back a little this week losing 4-5.  Currian has a lot of zeroes across his line-up numbers and will need some help to retool.

19. ChazTop-KevinBottom (6-12-0)

FAAB Remaining: $75  FAAB Moves this week: Orlando Johnson ($3)

A blowout at the hands of Kap’s Team has Chaz falling towards the bottom with DRose having a tough week and no one really delivering besides Monta.

20. Mr Green – Nowhere (5-13-0)

FAAB Remaining: $54  FAAB Moves this week: Jordan Hamilton ($31), Phil Pressey ($7), Luc Richard Mbah a Moute ($7)

Another tough week has Mr Green pulling up the rear, and he spent huge on the wire to retool.   Harden, Duncan and Parker had solid weeks, but it wasn’t enough.  The new faces will hope to bring Green further up in the fold.

Remember teams, as I posted on the league if you want to write your own, more-detailed blurb, shoot it to me Sunday night and you can have your recap on the post.  Good luck in week 3!
