- – do this anymore!!!!  And that’s appropriate too because when you run out of the Air Canada Centre, it turns from solid ground to ice!  Both Kyle Lowry and Terrence Ross won’t be frantically chasing down kids any time soon with ankle injuries last night.  Lowry still finished out the OTs, but coach Casey said it was a bad booboo.  He’s had a ton of injury problems through his career, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he misses at least a couple.  We’ll see after it gets re-evaluated today.  Then Ross’ sounds worse, happening in the 2nd quarter and he wasn’t able to get back in.  Ross can’t!  Stepped on a foot and it rolled.  Those are never fun.  Did shoot his freebies and walk off under his own power, so there’s that.  In shallow leagues, if Ross was giving you some points you sorely needed you can hold out maybe a game, but he’s probably streamable.  The main takeaway is Greivis Vasquez chose the perfect game to get hot, scoring a season-high 26 for a 26/2/8/2/0 line with 4 treys which is muy bueno.  Did have 6 TOs which is muy mal.  With the Raptors possibly missing both Lowry and Ross Sunday against Golden State, un opporunidad is there for Vasquez to have a major stream-tastic outing.  You can sneak in Pts/3s/Asts/Stls and when you win, you’re opponent is gonna be like, “clever girl!”  Here’s what else I saw last night in NBA hoops:

Marcin Gortat - The ten foot Pole just went to 11!  Career-high for Gortat going 31/12/1/0/4.  Yay for 51 minutes!

Jonas Valanciunas - Manages only 29 minutes in 3OTs.  7/10/1/0/0 shooting 3-9 and I put my official dropbox on him a week ago.  Feeling good about it.  My Dropbox can only handle 2 GBs and JV’s heavy toosh is clogging up my data!

Patrick Patterson - He’s like a boring, less flashy James Johnson.  5/4/0/2/2 with a trey, but back down to 23 minutes, which is saying something since there was an extra 15 minutes.

Khris Middleton - Solid outing against the league’s best D.  9-15 for 22/2/1/3/0 with three treys.  A little ThrAGNOFfy, but man, he’s turning into the village bicycle – everyone gets a ride!  On and off the wire, back and forth!

The Travesty of Big Man Minutes – Zaza Pachulia plays 26 minutes, shoots 1-8, and John Henson gets only 22.  Sure Henson shot 0-4, but neither could guard Roy Hibbert.  So the obvious answer is more to the scrub old guy when you’re tanking.  Sheesh ka bab!

Giannis Antetokounmpo - Would Milwaukee just go and buyout O.J. Mayo already?!  Giannis got only 21 minutes for 5/3/3/1/0 with a trey.  They’re just wasting key developmental time.  Maybe they’ll go out and sign Danny Granger too at this rate.

George Hill - George and Jill fell down the hill and George broke his crown.  Or some crap like that, I’m not gonna look up that song!  Fell and bruised his shoulder, which, well, let’s pretend he has a crown tat on it.  Day-to-day, but not too serious.

LeBron James - Played, had a mask designed by Lucious Fox, and played like the Knicks were the Bane of his existence.  31/4/4/0/0 with only 1 TO shooting 13-19 with a trey.

Mario Chalmers - Eh.  I’m still riding it out.  11/3/1 with a trey, but only 20 minutes in the blowout.  Norris Cole got 29:27 of run, and I don’t think that’s any sort of trend.

Tyson Chandler - Shocker!  An opposing big man played well against the Heat.  19/16, but logged no other stats with 2 TOs.

Raymond Felton - Proving all the memes true that he really can’t shoot!  2/2/5/3/0 shooting 1-7 in 31 god awful minutes.  You can go ahead and drop the soap, aherm, drop the Felton in 12ers or shallower.  Too much a distraction, and as the Knicks fall further out of the race, his minutes will be cut.

Tim Hardaway Jr. - Dude, if these two go to a shooting range together, I’m leaving the country.  2-15 for 6 Pts in a rough rough game.

Andray Blatche - Nice bounceback for 9/9/1/4/0, but only 18 minutes.  Erstwhile…

Mason Plumlee - … Got 21 minutes of 10/9/1/0/3 action.  I’m sure this being a blowout helped out the youngun and Blatche would otherwise get bigger minutes, but I’m still not a Blatche fan in most leagues.

Timofey Mozgov - Still starting and went 9/8/1/0/2 in 21 decent minutes.  Mozgov or JV?  Hmmm, might roll the dice on Mozgov or stream big man minutes at least.  Which is what I’m doing in one league (10 teamer).

Randy Foye - Nearly rainbowed as more and more injuries are keeping his value afloat.  15/4/3/2/1 shooting 5-12 and brick city 2-8 from deep.  Ty Lawson remains close and Wilson Chandler seems like it was a cautious benching.  I don’t think Foye will keep up the value.  I know I’ve been saying it a while, but it’ll happen!

Rest Of The Nuggets - This was an atrocity.  24 team TOs as all 6 DNPs were injuries.  They really need to get healthy.

Have a great weekend Razzball Nation!  I’m going to be out of town until Monday, so Slim is going to recap the weekend Monday morning and I’ll be a little slower with comments, but as always, shoot anything my way!

@Shaft: do that for sure n get Carroll bc Henson is too inconsistent and millsap being banged up means demarre will go ham

    SG Butler
    G Rubio
    SF Harden
    PF Love

    C Gortat
    UTIL M Gasol

    BN W Chandler
    BN Henson
    BN J Johnson
    BN Bledsoe

Available free agents right now are Holliday, Farmar, Mayo, Vasquez, Kanter, Maclemore, and Mozgov. Would you cut bait on any of the guys on my bench for one of these FA’s? I’ve been in 2nd place for a while now and am pretty set for the playoffs. Also, trade deadline is next Thursday for us. Suggest I make any moves? Thanks

@Jake VZ: Hey man! Your team looks pretty solid, only thing is another consistent big would help – but man very marginal, you’re solid everywhere. If only Henson would get his run! J Johnson is James or Joe? I agree, either is probably droppable for Holiday given your standing.

  8. Frank White says:
    (link)

Hey Slim wutup!!! So another useless and a little negative note on Varejeo that pisses me off.. Lol.. Anyway with 2 more weeks left after this week I’m actually beating up the first place team 7-2 in a 9 CAT without Millsap and Varejeo, no jinx, and if I win big this week I have a good chance to go back to 2nd place where I wanna stay at cause I would have the buy week but the next 2 weeks are gonna be tough. Do you think I should still ride Varejeo out or drop him for a good guy or stream that position out to get 4-5 games a week through the playoffs. What do you think buddy??

    • Frank White says:
      (link)

There’s always Mozgov , Jordan Hamilton, Singler, Ajinca, Vasquez or Wesley Johnson to pickup for hIm, Don’t gotta be a big GUY CAUSE I got plenty of them, but I can also stream players like this and like you said I could combined them to make that spot where I get 4-5 games a week. Sorry bout the repeat. Lol

      • Frank White says:
        (link)

Damn I just found out tha Millsap is ruled out for Sunday and it’s only Friday. If something happens to hi then I really gotta drop Varejeo.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Frank White: Well I’m not gonna speak for Slim… But Varejao is slowly crumbling and sorry on that, thought he’d be back by now. When do playoffs start? I think it’s probably safe to stream now. Vasquez is a great stream for tomo. I think it’s time to stream, no you’re right to repeat, it hasn’t been anything encouraging like everyone thought.

          • Slim

            Slim says:
            (link)

@JB Gilpin: I’m ready to move on from Varejao. I don’t see a scenerio in which he goes back to 30+ minutes per game, mostly because I don’t think he can survive so many minutes. Stream it to Win it! Millsap is very concerning but he’s much better than Varejao so I’m willing to wait that one out for the time being.

            • Frank White says:
              (link)

I can’t believe right after I drop Varejeo they updated his notes saying he’ll be back next week. Lol they said he’s not gonna start anyway. Should I be worried that I dropped him??

Hey JB. I tried trading my trey burke for luol deng earlier. owner didn’t like it. what do you think about trey burke for courtney lee? is lee too little for trey? or maybe even kevin martin? is k martin too much for burke?

my situation is i have too many PGs on my team and I need a SF spot to fill. if no trades go through, i’ve been thinking about dropping trey burke or varejao for some forwards, like dunleavy or wesley johnson. been thinking about making room for some kickers and short term streamers come playoff time. or should I just hold?

so many questions! thanks for everything man. can’t stress enough how awesome you guys are.

    my team:
wall, oladipo, burke, tyreke evans, bledsoe, brian roberts, mario chalmers
dwight howard, varejao, favors, robin lopez, anthony davis.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Kevin: Ehhh, I think indeed both are too little. I K Mart SF eligble? Varejao I think is streamable given decent options on your wire. Yeah with Roberts looking like a starter ROS, indeed your PG depth is even better with the Jrue news. Yeah looking at your team again, I think K Mart would fit pretty good, wouldn’t do it most instances but will help. We try, any time man!

  10. Li says:
    (link)

I have a couple bottom of (my) roster questions. After 3 straight solid games and with news of a possible shoulder injury to Anthony Davis-I grabbed Pelicans big man Ajinca (for MKG). For starters, Compared to the 15 minute- zero pt., 2 Reb effort in 15 minutes of C Greg Stimesma- do you think Ajinca could get significantly more run? Hes been solid for a few straight (9/9, 19/12,14/8).
My other question regards the conundrum that is the LA Lakers. I added Bazemore after his first start and have been pleasantly surprised…Then, today while perusing league transactions, I noticed someone had dropped the suddenly cool Kendall Marshall. Well…30 seconds later, after dropping Arnett Moultrie I know have Kendall as well. I realize your educated guess is as good as anybodys when it comes to D’Antoni, but is Marshall safer than Farmer (who is also on the wire)
As long as marshall is starting (for how long???) Hes bound to do better than 0-6 from the field, and he did grab 5 boards and dish out 8 dimes…
    Any input would be appreciated.
    -Li

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Li: Yeah esp. with no Davis. Actually streamed him myself in a league. Not doing that great but like him over MKG. Yes, I def think Marshall is safer and better than Farmar. I’m just not a Farmar fan and he can’t distribute. Like Marshall so much more than Farmar and def huge upgrade over Moultrie.

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Li: So Ajinca comes off the bench 3 straight for 27+ min, starts and he’s back to about 15. I think they are playing him strictly as a matchup guy. Vs teams that play big he’ll play but if they can move the Brow to center and play small they will.

    • Li says:
      (link)

      @Li:
Well……halfway through the game and I dropped Ajinca for Farmar after he shot the lights out. Now Im in the sticky situation of having Bazemore, Farmar and Marshall. Luckily, I have a bye next week when the Lakers only play two games. The league I’m in is a points league (Espn) and Baskets really do the most damage. (ex: Marshall’s 0-2 with 10 assists [two missed treys and 4 TO] garnered him a big fat Zero for the night. The wire is very thin and I do have the bye week to figure this out, but once the Lakers wing players return, Bazemore might be in for a fall-certainly not 38 mpg. I have Pero Antic on IR who could take up a spot and I’m also watching Kevin Seraphin closely.
      -Li

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Li: Yeah I think all 3 of those guys will have big games and tough to trust game-to-game. My personal least fav is Farmar, think he’s just too inconsistent.

  11. Ben says:
    (link)

Any word on Paul Milsap? Just got offered Milsap for Vucevic and I’m thinking about taking it.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Ben: Still a “bruised knee” but it’s lingering and my distrust of injury updates after Jrue had surgery and is out the year is at an all time high. Already ruled out for Sunday, the safe money is on Vuc, Millsap obviously bigger upside and a little more multicat

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Ben: This late in the year I shy away from injured players.

    • Li says:
      (link)

      @Ben:
2 weeks ago I traded Favors and Westbrook for Millsap and Ty lawson. I thought I got the better end of the deal, but the very next day Lawson goes down. Favors Hip probs. helped keep things on an even keel, but I need both back quickly with playoffs around the corner.
I would hold Millsap. They said it was a bruise, I would expect him back next week

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:

        @Li: Agree with this +1

  12. m1chael says:

Yo JB! Who would you sit out of these players tomorrow. Need to bench one and I don’t know who…. Want to catch up in AST/STLS…
    Pekovic
    Wroten
    PBev
    Hickson

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@m1chael: Pekovic. Even if he plays he’s very low end for both steals and assists.

  13. Lasandro says:
    (link)

    My team:
KD, Vuc, Markieff, Korver, M Gasol, Thad, Oladipo, Jameer, Meeks, Kawhi, IT2, Henson, Taj

    His team:
LBJ, DJordan, Hayward, Rudy, Bogut, TP, PG, TD, Favors, Conley, Deron, Klay, Monta

So we’re talking a 2 for 2 involving KD and LBJ. I’d obviously want his second to be better than mine. Ideally, I’d love DJ, as I need boards. He wanted vuc or Gasol and I said “no you damn dirty thief!” So what should I be offering him as a second? Taj or Kieff? He doesn’t like Henson (neither do I right now). Or should I throw something larger as a second to nab PG? Would like any scenarios you can think of. Unfortunately the difference between LBJ and KD now doesn’t seem to be nearly as vast as it was pre ASB

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Lasandro: I think Durant is still worth a goodly amount more than LeBron. I don’t mind the other 2 being Taj for Jordan. Markieff is fine too but that might be asking a little too much.

If you wanted George instead then Durant, Thad 4 LeBron, George feels pretty close to me.

    • Lasandro says:
      (link)

      Thanks @slim! Thoughts @jb Gilpin?

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Lasandro: I like the Kieff KD/LBJ DJ move myself if bad FT% and the rest of DJ’s aura does it for ya. I don’t think that’s asking too much, but I think I narrowly like Slim’s proposal more… Turning #1 player and a guy who’s hot on a crappy tanking team for a #2 player and top 10 player is a slam dunk. Slim is a trade wizard so I love that one, he’s brainwashed me!

  14. TR says:
    (link)

What do you think about trading away Dirk, Anthony Davis, and Wilson Chandler for Chris Paul and Derrick favors

    My team
    PG’s: Rondo, D-Will, Wroten, Bledsoe
SG’s: Kawhi Leonard, Wilson Chandler, Louis Williams
    SF’s: Paul George, Thad Young
PF’s: Dirk, Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis
    C’s: Cousins, Noah

    • Papajeansegura says:
      (link)

@TR: you’re crazy if you do that. your team looks like an easy championship team unless your in a 6 team league

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@TR: Papa Jean is right. That’s a real good team and I think your better off with that you’ve got.

  15. just traded Knight, Ilya & Brian Roberts for Tobias and Victor, feeling pretty good about that one – so who should I pick up going forward? 20-teamer waiver wire; I’m looking at Ajinca, Jordan Hamilton, T. Zeller, Marshon/Aaron Brooks. looking for best overall. any thoughts?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Sheriff McRawDawg: Nice trade. I think Oladipo and Tobias are the 2 best players in the deal.

Jordan Hamilton is a nice add while Parsons is down and could see 20-25 min with him in the lineup. Ajinca is alright but those 15 minute games are tough to stomach. If he ever got 25+ minutes consistently then he could be a 10/10 type with 2ish blocks. I would gamble on one of those 2 before the others.

      • Sheriff McRawDawg says:
        (link)

@Slim: thanks Slim. Yeah and I spose Mullens is available, too. Any chance he gets consistent run at some point?

        • Slim

          Slim says:
          (link)

@Sheriff McRawDawg: I don’t see it. I remember when he did get run a few years ago he really struggled to stay healthy. I think his best role will be 20ish minutes off the bench.

Would you trade Bledsoe & Deandre for Lillard?
Im 16 gms in 1st My roster is,

    Forwards-Kawaii,LeBron,Zbo,Markieff,Illvoysa

My plan is to stream rebounds if needed. So what do you think?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@matt: Yup. Love it. Bledsoe I’m still scared on. I know it’s been positive so far, but he still sounds a week or two out then effectiveness is very iffy to me.

  17. Nikko says:
    (link)

So, Varejao is a SOB who won’t stay healthy. I loved him for what he produced but he has just been sitting on my bench for too long. How do you feel about Louis Williams for Varejao? It’s a H2H league with Assists and Rebounds at 1.5 PT and everything else is 1.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Nikko: Man you’re league and those boosted Rebs… I think I’d have to hold, the allure of 10+ boards every night even in sub-30 mins has me wanting to hold Sideshow, but def can’t blame ya for taking it given all the injuries.

      • Nikko says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: even with spencer hawes probably going to start?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Nikko: Yeah bc I still think Varejao will get 25+ mins and he can grab 10 boards a game pretty easy with that
