Don't be shellfish...Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+

No no no, that’s not some sort of euphemism for not flushing… Victor Oladipo had a unreal game last night, almost giving the Magic enough to beat the Bulls in tres overtime.  I watched this game and was making all sorts of Oladipo highlights slashing to the rim.  Ended up with a 35/4/8/3/1 line shooting 15-24 with a trey.  Career-high alert!  And it wasn’t due to the minutes (58), he only scored 2 in the 3 OTs I believe.  Did boost his dimes by a few though… A guy I was extremely steadfast about holding onto and buying low is paying out your quarterly dividends.  Well, it would be more like bi-weekly dividends, but if a stock did that I want in!  The 8 TOs last night was a bugaboo, but just part of VO’s game.  He’s going to continue to get these big minutes and touches for the duration.  Pumped to see him finish out his rookie of the year campaign.  Here’s what else I saw in a busy night of NBA hoops:

Jordan Crawford – Traded to the Warriors to be a backup G scorer.  Remember when we constantly talked about him as a sell-high?!  Because I hope you followed suit!  Lost virtually all his fantasy value.  Droppable in even 14-teamers.  Really no other fantasy impact with the trade, Toney Douglas lucks out and gets a chance at a ring in Miami in the 3-team deal and Boston gets more draft picks.  Boring!

James Johnson – Oh man, was this a line last night!  Is he the best J. Johnson in the NBA right now?  Maybe!  7-13 for a huge 15/6/5/2/6 rainbow with no TOs.  One of the sauciest lines of the year from a bench player.  Got 29 minutes, but there are a lot of factors to consider.  Marc Gasol only got 15 minutes playing the second game of a back-to-back right after injury, and the hapless Bucks threw up some lousy shots.  On top of that, Zach Randolph was cold and the Grizzlies knew this would be an easy win.  Johnson was even 2nd in minutes to Mike Conley!  Doubt that happens again this year barring several major injuries.  I know it’s near impossible to ignore a guy with three straight rainbow lines, but Gasol will get his starting minutes at some point and Tony Allen is going to be back as well.  Don’t get me wrong, I love his game and he looked great last night, but it’s just a full team.  Still not ready to drop good players for him in 10 and 12-ers.

John Henson - Do you know the Muppet Man?!  8/13/2/1/1 and looked great.  Larry Sanders logged a dub-dub in 38 minutes, and while Ersan Ilyasova boarded well too with 13 rebounds, he shot 2-11 for 4 points.  Give us a Henson/Sanders front court already!

Giannis Antetokounmpo – Started at the 3 and did bad.  All his numbers say he should be starting at the 2.  And yet, Larry Screwballs goes with Luke Ridnour.  It’s like playing against a 2K14 team on easy against the computer.  Giannis did rack up 4 fouls though, but Ridnour leading a rebuilding team with 43 minutes?!  Disgrace.

Courtney Lee - Cooled off for 9 points with a trey but no other stats.  Think it was a bit of fluke.  Still 12-team worthy in my book, I’m bullish.  Especially until Allen is back.

Tony Snell - If this dunk doesn’t get you excited, on top of his ability to hit threes, then nothing well!  Really like this kid in dynasties, I feel like I’ve said that 15 times.

Jimmy Butler – Bulls rainbow line #1 – 21/7/6/2/2.  Great game in 3OT.

Joakim Noah – Bulls rainbower #2 – 26/19/6/2/2.  One board away from a Goromotaro!  The name sake!  So close!

D.J. Augustin – 40:01 to Kirk Hinrich‘s 25:39.  DJ was so much better… 19/5/9 with three treys in a solid game.  Should be owned in almost all leagues right now, this is his team to PG.

Jameer Nelson – Was great all game even without extended to the 3OT.  31/6/10.  Only 3-13 from deep, took a ridic 30 shots, but great game.  Did have some hamstring cramps in the last minute of that third overtime (played 55 minutes), so stay tuned to his Friday status.

Tobias Harris – Playing like it’s the 2nd half of 12-13!  22/16/2, and this rebound to 1-on-5 pull-up J has me thinking he’s got all his confidence back.  Not sure why that one stuck with me, but just did…

Spencer Hawes – Big game against the terrible Bobcats, but soon to be awesome Hornets.  17/14/7 with three treys.  Had a little three game lull there, but nice past three after that.

Greg Oden – Oh Em Gee!  He’s back pick him up in all leagues!  Haha, 6/2 with a nice dunk and great to see him back.  He seems like a cool dude.

Nene – Rainbow line!  I said he was a virtual must-own if he’s going to start and get 30+ minutes.  35 last night for 19/4/9/2/3 as the Wiz dismantled the Heat.  I imagine Nene quoting Arnold from Batman and Robin in 4th quarter smack talk.  “What killed the Dinosaurs, Brontosaurus Bosh?!  The Ice Age!”

Jared Sullinger – I even said we needed more Goromotaros!  Noah was barely off, but Sully made it!  25/20/4/2/0 with a trey and no TOs.  Remember when I said you should hold onto him, because I sorta did!  And I feel definitely right!

Avery Bradley – No Jordan C and a whopping 21 shots for me!  8-21 for a pretty empty 20/5/1/2/0 line.  Shocking to me he has 20+ Pts in 3 straight, but if you need scoring, I don’t see it stopping even with Rajon Rondo right around the corner.

Phil Pressey – Handed out a dimebag without scoring!  Tough to do!  Rondo is about here, so nothing to see…

Javaris Crittenton – Speaking of dimebags, Javaris was caught with real-life ones!  Kinda makes you sympathize with Gilbert Arenas a little bit… He needed his gun for safety!

Patrick Patterson – The Raptors bigs were collectively terrible last night.  2/4/2 off the bench in 20 minutes after I endorsed him.  Not sure why he didn’t get more run with Amir Johnson not doing much either… Bleh.

Terrence Jones – Beast mode!  25/8/1/1/6.  He’s like, “James Johnson ain’t got nothing on me for best off-the-radar PF this year!  I can get 6 Blks too!”

Eric Gordon – As Matt Damon would say in Promised Land, “What the Frack?!”  35/3/6 last night with 6 treys.  His best line of the year, topping his season-high by 8 Pts.  Hope you had him in your line-up!

Brian Roberts – Remember when I scoffed?!  I scoffed so hard!  10/1/4 in 30 uninspiring minutes.  Told ya, folks.

Rudy Gay – I was doing highlights for this game at first, but switched at the last minute.  Missed Gay’s 33/5/6/2/1 huge game.  Which happened to be against my REL team… Sigh…

DeMarcus Cousins – After a huge one, 20/11/0/0/1 with 5 TOs.  Love the dub-dub though!

Isaiah Thomas – Not that you had much time in a 24-hour window, but I said yesterday he had bad games in 2 of 3 and worth a buy low.  10-16 26/3/7/2/0 last night.  7 TOs is no good, but hope someone, if only one person, got helped by that!

Alec Burks – Another good game.  Yesterday I said “Worth a stream if Hayward misses again Wednesday, but he is traveling with the team.”  If anyone was able to key in on Gordon Hayward being inactive, you got a solid 20/5/4 game.  Hopefully that helped… one person!  Just one!  At least!

Enes Kanter – Went off for 25/11 shooting 12-15.  Dub-dubs in 3 of 5 and about to re-take the starting role from Marvin Williams.  I’m shocked he’s already owned in 69% of Yahoo leagues though… Very shocked…

Kawhi Leonard - Rainbow line! 15/7/6/3/2 with two treys and one block off from rainbows in 3 straight.  Patience comes to those who wait.  Or something like that…

Nick Young – I think he was taking out his frustration on me after calling him a scrub yesterday.  Megalomaniacal much, JB?!  Maybe!  Welll-cccommmmeee to the Suspppennddeddddd zone!

Kendall Marshall – Can’t not get dimebags.  Another 13 assists, but that ugly shot for 4-16 reared its ugly head…

Wesley Johnson – Still not quite in the 12-team conversation even after a nice 22/5/1/2/1 line last night.  Hit two treys as well.  But there’s still the Doh-toni factor.  But a definitely must-own in any deeper.  El Burro and I agree!  Even if I start two straight sentences with “but”…

Goran Dragic – Just having an incredible year.  18/10/7/2/1/a Nick Young punch last night.  Awesome.

Gerald Green – Leandro Barbosa sat out last night in a great “curse of the Razzball open” injury, and Green was hot for 12-18 28/7/2/2/1 near rainbow goodness.

LaMarcus Aldridge – I feel like I’ve always underrated him fantasy-wise while always love him in real life.  32/18/4/1/0.  M-V-P!  M-V-P!

Robin Lopez – I feel a lot better about pooing on Lopez though!  8/4/0/0/1.  The rebounding numbers going down, really bad games in 2 of 3, he’s on thin ice.

Anderson Varejao – Now, to a lanky huge guy with flowing jerry curls I can get behind!  8/14/4/3/2 in a dandy rainbow.  All while shooting an efficient 4-7.

Wilson Chandler – Welcome back to the opening tip!  22/6/1/1/3.  I had him in REL… And lost him in a trade… And of course he gets healthy now against me… Sigh…

J.J. Hickson – A guy I feel like I’ve always had to defend.  13/24 last night.  Monster on the glass!

Evan Fournier – With Chandler getting 39:04, Fournier all the sudden was down to 15:16 of PT.  Randy Foye was hot too.  I’m still bullish for the French Virgin.

Nate Robinson – Does what the most annoying player in the NBA does.  Gets hot here and there then disappears.  Kinda like the sex drive of your wife in a long marriage…

J.J. Redick – A real hot dookie last night!  33/3/5 and 7-9 from deep.  Can’t really say he’s not healthy now!  Must own in virtually all leagues.

Darren Collison – A solid 13/4/10 line with a trey.  Has been pretty baller.  Be glad you got him where you could!

Brooklyn “at” Atlanta - Playing in London this afternoon, tip at 3:00 EST.  So be sure to set your line-ups if daily line-ups lock after the first game, and/or get your Hawks and Nets in there.

Next Game: TNT Overtime is back!  It’ll be great doing the TNT OT highlights again tonight for NYK @ IND.  I actually think this will be a pretty good game.  Again, be sure to check your line-ups with the game in London and I hope everyone had a big night with a full line-up!

@JB Gilpin: I forgot to include I might just tank 3’s at this point but tyreke doesn’t really provide a boost to my other stats does he?

    10 team, 9 cat H2H, Playoff – Week 21-23
    How does my team look?
PG – Curry (SG), Bledsoe (SG), Conley, IT2
, Hinrich (SG)
SG – Kawhi (SF), Ross (SF)

SF – T.Jones (SF), Matt Barnes

PF – Nowitzki (C), Millsap, Kieff Morris (C)

C – Valanciunas, Henson (PF),

Currently want to improve lead. I’m No. 1 in my league. Looking at either trading Bledsoe/Conley/Nowitzki/Millsap
Bledsoe is kind of injury prone. Memphis is a mess (will probably hold but they are a mess…) Nowitzki is old.

ROS on Bledsoe? Conley? Millsap? Dirk? Curry?

    • Draco21 says:
      (link)

@Draco21: Did a Hinrich+Millsap offer on Ant Dave.

Looking to get these guys in order.
Bigs – Ant Dave – KLove – Ibaka – Cousins

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Draco21: Agree that you need to look for a big man. Not sure how much trade value you can get for Bledsoe being out so long. Conley I like, Millsap I like, I would hold Dirk who is playing great. I think Conley and Bledsoe offer for DMC or Ibaka might work?

  3. jb says:

Just was offered wall and jeff green for eric gordon and dirk…does that improve my team assuming wall is the best player or should i hold tight?? I have AD, ibaka, love, randolph and henson as my other forwards…rubio, jordan crawford, felton, kevin martin, as my guards(bledsoe and d rose out with injury)

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@jb: With Crawford getting moved I think I’d have to take Wall. You look like you need some guard depth. Is Rose in an IR or is this a keeper league? In a redraft he’s droppable.

  4. Tim says:
    (link)

Have a dynasty question. 20 team, 11 keeper, 10 cat (3 pt%), currently in 3rd place. My keepers would be Anthony Davis, Kemba Walker, Brandon Knight, Gordon Hayward, Tobias Harris, Chandler Parsons, Jeff Teague, John Henson definitely, with Al Jefferson, Cody Zeller, James Johnson, Jeremy Evans, Shelvin Mack, Jason Smith, Luke Ridnour, Dewayne Dedmon to pick from for the other three. I was just offered Nowitzki for Henson. Obviously ridiculous in standard, but I love me some Henson. Would you do it? If not, do you think a package including Jefferson might make more sense? His team (currently in second place) is Ricky Rubio, Klay Thompson, Alexey Shved, Harrison Barnes, Khris Middleton, Corey Brewer, Dirk Nowitzki, Alex Len, Patrick Patterson, Andrew Bogut, Beno Udrih, George Hill, Diante Garrett, Mike Scott, Gorgui Dieng, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

Sorry for all the player names. I welcome any and all feedback (even from Slim)

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Tim: Haha no prob! Interesting 2nd place would trade such a big piece from this year to help for his future… Definitely a chase for title this yr vs. future years. I almost think I’d take it with your roster that good even though I know you love Henson!

  5. Joe says:
    (link)

Sigh. The consensus was I should stand pat and not drop J.Green or Valanciunas for Redick…now I want to jump off a bridge for not doing either of those add/drops. Hindsight kills consciences.

Assuming I don’t jump, would you drop either of those (J.Green or Vala) for any of the following: James Johnson, Kanter, Taj, Boozer, Ersan, or Sullinger? Or do you have hope that J.Green will get better with Rondo and/or that Vala will find some consistency?

(Btw, I’m not seriously contemplating jumping off a bridge. These are 1st world problems.)

    • Joe says:
      (link)

      @Joe:

I’m not one to post collorary questions, but, related to my question above, if I could trade something like my Knight & Vala for Redick and Hibbert, or even Knight/Green/Vala for Redick/Hibbert, should I do it?

Man, I hope you get paid for this. :)

      • matt says:
        (link)

I dropped green months ago for a free roster spot :-) He’s too streaky, empty counting stats imo

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Joe: Ugh, that sucks but I will say it’s only one game from Redick. Still think long term Green and JV will outproduce…I think I have to jump ship on Green too like @matt: . I’ve heard people saying Rondo could help but I dunno… I’d grab Sully. Haha I know, but if you ever are on the edge I’ll talk you down! I wouldn’t do that Hibbert trade, I love Knight a ton. think you should hold him. Haha, it’s all about the fans! We just love talking hoops!

  6. Frank White says:
    (link)

What’s up JB… I just picked up Shawn Marion for Taj Gibson nd I just noticed I only have 2 center’s on my team. I have plenty PF’s so I get boards but sometimes if more then 10 of my guys are playing ( which is the max) and one of my centers aren’t playing then I can only play 9 of my guys when I have 11 that can start.
    Jeff Teague
    Conley
    Rondo
    Reggie Jackson
    Ariza
    Dunleavy
    Mello
    Millsap
    West
    Tristan Thompson
    Marc Gasol
    JJ Redick
    Foye
    Shawn Marion
I like Marion but do you think it’s a must for me to drop him, or if you think someone else, to grab another center?? Not to much out there, Enes Kanter, Oden, Patrick Patterson, Plumlee, Stoudemire or maybe Taj Gibson.. What would you do??

    • Frank White says:
      (link)

I want to trade for DeAndre Jordan for someone cause I can use the blocks and Boards but I don’t know who to offer. I was thinking West but I doubt that’s enough. Maybe Ariza? What do you think??

      • matt says:
        (link)

@Frank White: I own Dre but you’ll need to offer me more than Ariza or West. Prob be a trade where someone wants a PG or SF for a Big. Good luck

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Frank White: Yeah Jordan is interesting because if his owner can handle the FT%, he’s loving him. I’m with @matt: I don’t think West or Ariza will be enough, but never hurts to offer! Marion so banged up is a concern, I might actually take the chance on kanter as a C for ya

          • mike says:
            (link)

            @JB Gilpin:

Jordan is a top 5 overall player if you don’t sweat the FT%. If he’s on a team where he fits already, you’re not going to get him for anything.

He gets a fair amt of assists. I mean if you can get 1st tier pg for him then by all means go for it. But I wouldn’t give harden up for anyone straight up except maybe 5 other players in the whole league. He can go off for 30/6/6/3/1/ games when he’s in a zone. Just saying, he’s my favorite player real world and fantasy he’s top 5 in my opinion.

        JB Gilpin says:

@EL BURRO: Any other nominations for this years Razzies? I’m going to wait till the end of the year but I am definitely doing that post! I do however think its time we can announce some more nominees.

In an almost related story, I’m more than a little upset Joaquin Phoenix isnt nominated for Best Actor. I thought he was good enough to win it…

@Slim: Like, movie Razzies or Basketball Razzies?!

    • @Slim:

Joaquin is a fabulous actor, but if you saw Dallas Buyer Club – should be “alright, alright, alright” with the W in a landslide. Matthew was ridiculous in that, not to mention the subject matter and total body transformation he underwent for the role. Academy eats that shit up, although, Leo really deserves some hardware as well for The Wolf of Wall Street. Loved that flick, albeit 30 minutes too long, but him on ludes was delicious to watch. Tangent: Scorsese still doesnt know what the hell ‘edit’ means.

@El BURRO: I’m so behind, I’m usually a wait until Netflix kinda guy. Looking forward to Wolf. But I’m weird… My Favorite Scorsese movie? Casino

        • @JB Gilpin:

Marty is one of the best around. Ever. Ever.

How about: Goodfellas, Gangs of New York, The Departed? If you want older and more classic, try: Raging Bull, Taxi Driver..

HOWEVER, Aviator and Hugo were both unwatchable.

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@EL BURRO: Goodfellas – Was fine but I didn’t get as much out of it as most people. Coked out Ray Liotta… Meh haha

Gangs of NY – Liked that one a lot. Up there, maybe 2nd. A little underrated. DD Lewis sitting next to Leo when he wakes up, covered in a huge American flag and gives the “Fear” speech – great scene.

The Departed – Good the first time, but just so longgggg. Very little replay value for me. Which movies don’t necessarily “need” but yeah…

Raging Bull – Was good. Need to rewatch has been years,

Taxi Driver – I thought was overrated. People get mad at me for saying that. Not my favorite.

Aviator – I thought was OK. Too long too, but I enjoyed it fine. Not as good most above though.

Huge – Meh, was fine too for what it was, but wasn’t great or anything.

More movies with EL BURRO and JB to come!

              @JB Gilpin:
Wolf of Wall Street – It was really fun and I was laughing the entire movie. There aren’t enough movies about quaaludes. I bet most of the people reading this have never seen a lude. I thought the opening scene destroyed any oscar chances though. I can’t imagine some 80 year old guy voting for that.

Dallas Buyers Club – Leto stole the show. I’ve liked him ever since he was opposite Claire Danes in ‘My So Called Life’. I thought McConaughey was really good, arguably his best ever, but I thought Leto owned every scene he was in. Tangent: I watched the 1st episode of ‘True Detective’ and I was highly impressed. That show looks like a winner. Love the format too.

Blue Jasmine – Not even nominated for best movie?!? This was my favorite movie of the year. Blanchett gave one of the best performances I have ever seen. I watched this one with a few people and we talked about the movie for hours after we watched it. For me that’s a sign of a true piece of art.

12 Years a Slave – I mean it’s a good movie. The slave girl was really good. Fassbender was really good. It’s the type of movie that wins but for me there was nothing new. I found it to be a retelling of slave stories we’ve all heard hundreds of times before. Nothing new.

Her – It was just unique. Spike Jonze is very much underrated. It’s just another one of those movies that stayed with me after I finished watching it. That goes a long way for me.

Gravity, Captain Phillips, American Hustle – Not sure why these are nominated for anything. Solid, yet utterly mindless flicks. I watched The Book Thief the other day and liked it better than these 3.

I haven’t seen, Philomena, Nebraska, or Inside Llewyn Davis (Tonight’s movie). I’m really looking forward to the last one. T-Bone Burnett! (also does the music for True Detective).

Hey JB, just wanted your input on this trade that I’m considering in one of my 12-teamers.

I receive: Marc Gasol, George Hill, Iman Shumpert

    He receives: Valanciunas, Redick, Antetokounmpo

    Should I pull the trigger?

    • matt says:

@manosun16: Gasol is best upside in the deal. I’d take it. I traded Thaddeus,Chandler,Evan Turner for Gasol Derozn 2 weeks ago

In a keeper format, should I take this deal?

I get – Blake Griffin, Paul Millsaps, Monta Ellis

    Thanks!!!!

    • JB Gilpin

@Willy O: Love it. Love selling Lowry high who is older and injury prone. Dwight isn’t a spring chicken either even though he looks young. Vuc is a tough one to give up, but you get 3 solid guys for years – even though Millsap and Ellis are older they should be fine

I now have ZERO PG on my team. Lost Jru and Rose to injuries. I need a trade target for Ibaka (and not Darren Collision) Realistic help very much needed. Nobody on the wrote besides Chalmers,Roberts, and Bayless….it’s terrible. Mfers are hoarding like 4-5 pgs per team! And they don’t want to trade equal value they want to steal! The reason why is I have a huge lead and they want to weaken my team so they can play catch up the next 7 weeks.

        @matt:

Don’t panic! If you’ve got a big lead, think about targeting Chris Paul. Even if you can’t get equal ROS value, you can probably get equal or better playoffs value. And there will be at least two new starting PGs between now and the end of the season. Either that or just punt assists!

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:

@matt: Yeah I would grab Chalmers who I think will be fine.Probably dropping Faried. Agree with @mike: Paul would be a great target or maybe piecing Gerald Green and someone for a guy like Burke who is ho-hum but has upside.

          Serge
          Gordon

If James Johnson was given 36 minutes a night he would easily put up top 25 value. If he then played reasonably well he could be a 2/2/2, 3s/stl/blk guy for a stretch. Unheard of. I wouldn’t even think that was possible. It’s not going to happen but… wait It’s Tayshaun Prince’s fault isn’t it. At least 10 of his minutes should be James Johnsons. That should at least get him to 30.

Can anybody give me their opinion regarding this trade and in return I’ll give mine about theirs if JB hasn’t replied yet.

I give Rondo/Boozer I get David Lee and Kemba

League counts double double as stat and Lee is usually a sure bet.

@fitz: I’ll show you mine if you show me yours! Slam dunk trade. Think it’s an easy one :) Kemba I think might even be better than Rondo ROS with Rondo possible minute restrictions and Lee is miles ahead of Booze

@JB Gilpin: Thanks sir! Didn’t know if you’d still be on tonight replying and wanted some quick help but you came through! Haha.

Ended up doing the trade but it was revised a little bit had to include Eric Gordon and got back Jamal Crawford along with Lee and Kemba. I think Gordon/Crawford are pretty even anyway so still think I made out well.

    Hey JB,

I was offered Nikola Pekovic for my Mike Conley. I was wondering what do you think of this trade? I would rather have his demarcus Cousins. My lineup is as follow

mike conley / ty lawson / trey burke
gordon hayward / joe johnson / evan turner / derozan
tobias harris / kenneth faried / zach randolph / al jefferson / derrick favors / andrew bogut

    JB,

    Good write up once again.

I’m trying to trade either Monroe or Tyson (as I have an abundance of BIGs) for a SG or SG/SF type player who provides decent assists.

Any thoughts come to mind? I was thinking on taking a chance with Tyreke (for Tyson).

    Thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Iceiceice: Thanks man! Yeah Tyreke for Tyson would be great. Monroe I think is a tad underrated and Chandler overrated due to past seasons. So I’d shop Chandler if tyreke doesn’t work out, even though I hate him Jeff Green might be an interesting buy low or Gordon Hayward who should be healthy now. Might not be able to swing those but can’t hurt to float offers!

  29. Kevin says:

@Kevin: Like #1 the best. Lance is the open for tomorrow. Looked dynamite. Plus Griffin is the best player in all 3 offers

      • Kevin says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: so as I made the trade request for stephenson and griffin, the guy who would offer me N pekovic and deng replied first and said he was interested. i might up the request and ask for josh smith and pekovic.

my game plan is to try to get griffin and stephenson first, and then probably would consider pekovic/j smith.

        what are your 2 cents?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Kevin: Yeah I don’t think I would do that one. I’m just not a Deng fan even after a big game. Pek/Smith would work for me, so yeah I’d counter with that and hope either that or the first trade work

  30. Willie Stone says:

Jrue Holiday’s on waiver in my 10-team 9-cat h2h league and I’m thinking ’bout dropping Reggie Jackson for him within the next week or so. Currently in 1st place by 9.5 games, so I have the luxury to stash. Do you think it’s worth the risk?

    Thanx in advance….sincerely appreciate it.

    (link)

Great write-up as always and interesting nights on 1/15 and 1/16. Tony Snell, James Johnson and Mike Scott all look like interesting pickup’s going forward.

Snell’s upside is huge and should get more minutes with Deng out of the equation in Chicago. James Johnson looks like he’s someone who deserves more minutes, but could get squeezed with Gasol back in the mix in Memphis. Finally, there’s Mike Scott. I like his game a lot and think he’s in a good situation with Horford out in Atlanta.

Given those three upsides, would you take a chance on either one of them in a keeper league over Derrick Williams and his new role in Sacramento and “Alf” in New Orleans. I know both of the aforementioned are going to get an extended look going forward this season, but do either (i.e., Snell, Johnson or Scott) deserve a spot over either one of them?

It’s small beans, but how would you rank all five players?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Peter Nincompoop: Thanks man! A lot went down. Love Mike Scott. The first game of the year I mentioned how I liked him. Still tough to trust in shallow leagues though, but great game tonight. As keepers I’d rank Snell, Johnson then Scott. Scott is a little undersized for a 4, big for a 3, and offense dependant. I think Snell has the most upside. JJ has been awesome but had bounced around and this might just be the tip of a bellcurve. OH, all 5, Um probably Williams, Snell, JJ, Scott, then Al-F. Just don’t think his unrefined offense and inconsistency will ever stick
