Surprisingly, Nate Robinson is only 20% owned in Yahoo leagues despite averaging 11 points, 2 threes, 4 assists and 2 steals over the past 2 weeks. Nate The Great has been back on the production chain train (now this next part makes (some) sense), choo-chooing his way to 19 points (3-5 from deep), 5 boards, 6 assists, and 5 steals in 42 minutes last night. His see-saw movement usually happens pretty quickly (2 good games, 2 bad games, 3 good games, a bad game, so on), but I could still see Nate being on the most teams in your league by the end of the season. In 12 teams or deeper, I would certainly add Nate, unless your team is pretty stacked (like mine, cough). With Valentine’s Day coming up, don’t be afraid to choo-choo-choose Nate.
By the way, that cough was real. I’ve come down with whatever is plaguing the Hornets. Therefore, today’s post is a bit light, but considering that I still put it out there, I think it’s safe to say I’m basically a hero, right? No? Hello? Here’s some highlights from last night:
Chris Paul – With 19 points, 5 rebounds, 16 assists and 2 steals, he reminded me why I went after him so hard in drafts. Good thing I didn’t go after Kevin Love, eh?
Kevin Love – He will miss 8-10 weeks, it was reported yesterday. Sometimes fantasy sports deal you a bad hand, and losing your #1 pick is pretty effin’ bad. In deep leagues, you can let him collect dust on your bench, but in shallow leagues, you have to cut bait.
Brandon Jennings – On a scintillating 12 of 24 from the field, BJ slurped up 35 points (5-10 from downtown), 6 rebounds, 6 assists and a steal.
Metta World Peace – φ had 23 points, including 3 of 8 from downtown, plus 8 rebounds and 7 bloody steals in 40 minutes. I think, by now, we’ve established his season is for real, but I could not pass up highlighting all those takeaways.
Alexey Shved – He reached 18 points (2 threes), 1 rebound, 3 dimes, 2 steals, but also the dreaded 7 turnover mark. I’d still eat him up if he was still available in your league, or if he was made of chocolate.
Larry Sanders – He accumulated 6 points and 7 blocks to go for the “More Blocks Than Points” Award, which is actually a repurposed singing bass plaque. He also had 12 rebounds, an assist and a steal, while missing 3 of 6 from the free throw line.
Greivis Vasquez – He had 17 points, 2 threes, 4 rebounds and 3 steals, plus the all important 11 assists, just like my other boyfriend, Jose Calderon (14/2/11/1).
Josh Smith – Although bricking on 4 of 5 attempts from downtown, Smith still had 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks. It’s safe to say he’s a superstar when he can greatly help and hurt you with the same stat line. Kobe Bryant (35/3/7/3/2 plus 5 TO) is impressed. Just kidding, Kobe has never felt a warm emotion towards another human being in his entire life.
Amir Johnson – It was a good night for rebounds, but Amir is the guy I’m going to talk about, given that it’s his blurb: 19 points, 12 boards, 5 assists, a steal and a block.
Earl Clark – He had an impressive 22 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists for the Lakers, as he filled in for the MIA Pau Gasol. Those 22 points are more than he scored combined all season, but he also never saw minutes. The day before, he played 21 minutes and finished with 5/9/3 and a block. He is worth a grab in deep leagues if you’re hurting for boards.
Kenneth Faried – Ken produced a double double with 19 points, 19 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. What, no 20/20? Also, will this performance increase or decrease the amount of questions about Faried?
Jerryd Bayless – He missed all but 1 of his 7 attempts from beyond the perimeter, leaving him with just 5 points to go with 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block.
Sacramento Kings - Rumor has it they will be moving to Seattle. I’m too sick to be annoyed by another city move. Okay, that’s not true, but I am too sick to write at length about it.

edit: Larry Sanders was 3 for 6 on field goals and thankfully did not attempt a free throw. Thanks for the write up. Get well soon.
@Pat: Thanks, sorry for the misinformation.
What do you think of Faried and Tyreke Evans for Al Horford? 8 team h2h 9cat
@Jeff: @Jeff: I’d take Al.
Drop Jordan Crawford for Matt Barnes?
@Zandy: Is this a bad move by me
M Gasol and Conley for Kobe Bosh and Vucevic?
(id drop jordan crawford or Love)
I just lost Love to injury so need some depth…..
10T H2H Weekly – currently on the playoff bubble.
9 categories but adds Technicals and splits Rebs into D-reb and O-reb
@Zandy: Who would you be getting? the Kobe side? I’d do that. The Gasol side isn’t horrible, but I think Vucevic outweighs Conley.
@Zandy: Maybe; it seems like there would be better options in a ten team league.
Would you drop Blatche or Humphries? Not sure if Hump will get his minutes back…..thanks in advance.
@Eng: I hate to say this, since I drafted Hump, but he’s been dead weight for a while. I’d take my chances with Blatche and his horrible FT%.
If Love wasn’t injured what do you think of a K.Love and Klay Thompson for Durant trade? 12 team head 2 head 9 cat league. Get well soon
@Patrick: Thanks.
Love and Durant are both top ten players, not sure why Klay is needed to sweeten the deal.
@ChrisV:
What do you mean Klay isn’t needed? Kevin Love is not a shoe-in for elite tier (KD, CP3, LBJ) fantasy anymore. Nobody in their right mind should trade KD for K Love (even at his best from last season) straight up. IMO, of course.
@Robneighbors: We’re talking about the Kevin Durant (ranked #1 last season) with Kevin Love (ranked #4 last season)? How small is your elite tier?
Drop Rodney Stuckey for Nate Robinson?
@Hans: Nate won’t give you as many points, but if you want assists/steals/threes, sure
Give: Marc Gasol
Get: Bosh and Vucevic?
Good trade? – would drop jordan crawford or kevin love
@Zandy: Sorry!
Give: Marc Gasol & Drummond
Get: Bosh and Vucevic
@Zandy: Yeah, I think that is okay.
Love the Simpsons reference!
@Kevin: Thanks.
good read
I picked up Landry Fields lover Nate.. bad idea?
I Ju st feel landry is going to give it his all, he prob feels like a tit for doing pretty m uch nothing and getting so much cash, he seems like the player who would care
thinking he will give me a lot of hussle points ..
still th ou gh. nate is still on the board maybe i should grab him hmm i do need steals..
@Moez: I’d go with Nate. It’s nice to think Landry Fields would feel guilty, but how many athletes ever feel bad for being overpaid?
Thanks for earlier resonse, Chris. Do you prefer kawhi Leonard or JRich ros?
@Eng: pls diregard the Q. Taking a second it’s pretty clear j-rich is done. Must pay more attention!
Hey buddy whats up… I took your advise and dumped Kevin Love. I had to it sucks!!! Anyway, I was looking for someone to fill his spot and I found Glen Davis on the wire so I picked him up.. They say he should be back within the week.. I don’t know much about basketball deeply just what I see on sportscenter. Do you think that was a good pick-up or is there something wrong with him???? If not then can you maybe throw me a couple names that are good and I can check if there on waivers?
@Frank Lynch: Nah, that’s okay. You may have to wait a week or so more until he comes back, but as you said, he will be back and should be ready to roll.

I had a basketball question but I would rather say ” Get well soon”.
@Fahed: +1 to this. Didn’t read that far down initially.
@Fahed: Thanks. I’ll still take a question if you have one.
