0The two biggest names people are waiting for in fantasy circles are Derrick Rose and Andrew Bynum, and it looks like they’re both farther away than was anticipated. Bynum felt pain in his knees after back to back workouts, while Rose said he was about 20-30% away (actually, he said he was feeling 85% on a scale of 110%, so hopefully he has an accountant do his taxes). Neither one is coming back in February. I don’t know that for fact, but I’m telling you based on the fact February is almost over. Will we see them back by mid-March? I doubt it. I do think they will likely show their faces this season, Rose to join the Bulls in any playoff run, and Bynum to enhance his free agency bid, but I’m not optimistic either will help your fantasy team.
Both players will see limited minutes when they return. Rose getting 35 minutes per night? Not a chance. I figure Rose starts out with 12-15 minute runs, followed by working his way up to 25 minutes, interspersed with the occasional day off. Bynum should see more time sooner, but he will also regularly sit out entire games to avoid swelling in his knees. He has arthritis in his knees, and his durability will be weaker than a pair of “Nake Air Jortan” Chinese sneakers.
My overly optimistic projections, for when they actually return:
Bynum – .545 FG%/.695 FT%/12.5 PTS/9.4 REB/1.1 AST/0.3 STL/1.4 BLK/2.1 TOV
Rose – .432 FG%/.795 FT%/15.3 PTS/2.2 REB/6.3 AST/0.5 STL/0.3 BLK/2.4 TOV
Any thoughts/whispers on Drummond? Tired of waiting for Pau to exhale…lol. Other options on the wire that Im mulling over are Aminu, Webster, Zeller, Henson, Bayless and Alan Anderson…at this point I need Pts and %’s…buti’ll take anything over Pau’s goose eggs. Thanks!!

Currently in 1st place, 3.5 games up on 2nd, and 7.5 up on 3rd. I am looking to trade for Melo because of his playoff schedule. What would be a good offer for Melo to a Assist and Steals needy team? I was thinking Leonard and Thomas for Melo. I also saw a trade go through in CBS for Melo that included Vasquez and Jamison.

Both of those trades are a joke IMO. Your gonna have to pony up for Melo…Thomas & Jamison are Waiver wire fodder. I am in a 14 team league, and Jamison was just picked up after sitting onthe wire th majority of the year.

@WorldsFirstAnalrapists: An offer of Lillard/Lowry should do the trick, if you want to cough up those two. You could probably offer Martin/Lowry, but I wouldn’t take that if I had Melo (which I do in one league).

Hey so i’m looking to make a 2 for 1 deal, two of my big men for one better big man. On my roster i have Faried, Bogut, Mullens, Gortat, Valanciunas and Taj Gibson. Which two do you think would be a good pair to try and shoot for top big man? and any suggestions on a big man to go for?
@Ian: Bogut has high interest right now. You could probably pair him and Mullens for a guy like Gasol, but I’m not sure if that would seal the deal.

My team is 73-69-2 and four games ahead of the 7th place team.
If I was not carrying Rose all season, I’d probably have 80 something wins right now and would not be sweating a playoff berth.
Should I drop Rose at this point and basically stream players? I can make five adds per week. I have made a grand total of seven for the season. My plan was to coast and then turn it on in the playoffs. I may have to start doing that now just to make sure I get in the playoffs.

With only three bench spots, keeping Rose all this time really hurt me. I was non-competitive last week. Gasol had no stats. West, Noah, and Duncan all had problems. I lost 2-7 and one of the categories I won was turnovers because I had half a team.
Should I drop Rose and add Martell Webster, Bledsoe, Earl Clark or Patrick Patterson?

What do you think about my Chris Paul for Carmelo Anthony? I’m slipping in the rankings going now to 8th in a 12 man league, 8 playoff spots. NY has more games in this second half stretch than Clips and a lot of games in the playoffs, should I accept?
