Martell Webster continues to light the east coast on fire from downtown, while much of the coast is being covered in snow. That Webster is so hot right now! Friday night, he scored 16 points, adding 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and hit 3 shots from the arc.  Over the past week, Marty is averaging 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 asts, 1.3 steals and and an insane 4.0 three-pointers made a game. FOUR! Sure it’s a small sample size, but Webster’s dictionary defines Martell as one who is stupidly hot from the field over the past week;  one who’s been seeing over 40 minutes a night; and one big part of the Wizards 3 game win streak. Yeah, the Wizards have winning streak! Do you believe in Magic? Expelliarmus! Even with the return of Bradley Beal (3 points, 4 rebounds in 18 minutes), Webster should see plenty of time from here on out. He’s just 21% owned in most leagues, and as long as he’s this deadly from downtown, he needs to be owned all over. We should call him the Dictionary, because he’s taking the competition to school right now!

Here’s what else happened in fantasy basketball Friday night (Snow Day Edition):

Jason Richardson – Out for season as he’ll get knee surgery. Nick Young is averaging 15.7 points and 3.4 rebounds and could be a great add for points and threes (1.9 3pm). Young is owned in just 37% of yahoo leagues, so go own him if someone hasn’t already. As for J-Rich–so long, you hardly even played enough to make the Philly fans resent you. Maybe next year.

Andrew Nicholson – 21 pts, 8 reb, 3 ast, 2 blk in 31 minutes in the start (9-13 fgm). This was arguably Nicholson’s best game of the year, I just don’t know if we can expect these numbers on a consistent basis. Moe Harkless added 9 pts, 4 rebs, 3 ast and 3 blocks, as the Magi youth movement got a good strong look last night–oh, and got completely destroyed by the Cleveland Cavaliers. To the future! Huzzah!

Marreese Speights – 18 pts, 5 reb, (3-13 FG) 12-12 ftm. Still just 25 % owned, I told you to BUY him in last weeks lede. He’ll take your team to new Speights I quipped! So far, he has not disappointed. He needs to be owned.

Greivis Vasquez – 21 pts, 11 reb, 12 ast, 1 stl. The General has had some off nights offensively as of late, but the past two games it looks like he’s got his groove back. He even hit 3 threes Friday night and notched his first triple-double of the year. I know he only fills three categories, but hey, he’s really good in those three categories.

Amir Johnson – 36 minutes, 14 pts, 14 reb, 2 blk, 3 ast. Not so fast Rudy Gay, this is clearly Amir’s team now that that Ed Davis character is out of the picture.

Kyle Lowry – 2 pts, 6 ast (1-4 fgm) 2 blk. More like Kyle Lousy, amiright? For Seriously, no one is a bigger supporter of Ky-Low than myself, but he does have a tendency to do this every so often. Stop doing this. The 6 dimes and two blocks are nice, though.

Jonas Valanciunas – 26 min, 14 pts, 13 reb, 2 blk. MyNameIsJonas could be replacing Aaron Gray in the starting line up any day now, and if he does you’re probably gonna maybe, possibly want to own him on your fantasy team. Just sayin’.

Paul George – 26 pts, 14 reb, 5 ast, 1 stl. I’ve got to hide my love away for John Ringo. But I keep mentioning him every week.

Andrea Bargnani – 14 pts, 2 reb, 2 stl in 29 minutes. Showcasing his trade value. Anyone?

Earl Clark – 17 pts, 10 reb, 2 stl, 1 blk. With Pau Gasol sidelined for weeks and Dwight Howard not giving a f-dash less, Clark should see plenty of time in the Lakers line up, and we already know he can fill up a stat sheet. Big Earl needs to be owned everywhere.

Dwight Howard – 12 pts, 11 reb, 3 blk. “Yawn.” That’s my impression of Howard on the fast break. Oh, you liked that one? “Thank you very much.” Yup, you guessed it, that one was Elvis. #iamgoodatthese

Antawn Jamison – 9 pts, 5 reb, 3 blk. I’m not picking him up, but you can. And who am I kidding, you probably should!

Byron Mullens – 20 pts, 12 reb, 8-18 in 39 minutes. Lord Byron is just 40% owned right now but is scoring the points, grabbing the rebounds and getting the minutes of someone who should be at least 85% owned. Be part of the 85%.

Michael Beasley – 25 pts, 7 reb, 2 ast, 3 3pm. Michael was beastly last night and now has two 20+ point games in his past four. He also has two games with less than 7 points in his last five, sooo the consistency isn’t exactly there yet. Still, there’s upside here and Coach Hunter favors him so he’s worth a look.

Kevin Durant – 21 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl, 1 blk. What have I been saying about the Kevin’s? Los Kevins, right! Kevin Martin scored 16 pts with 3 3pm and the Thunder won big. Naturally. But perhaps this theory has less to do with KD having good games (which he always does), and says more about Oklahoma’s record when K-Mart is productive.

Serge Ibaka – 9 pts 5 reb, 4 ast, 3 blk. We should call him HeisenSerge. He is the one who blocks.

Derrick Williams – 19 pts, 6 reb, 1 blk, missed 6 three’s. LOL. After double-doubling on Wednesday(15 pts, 12 rebs), D-Willy puts up another solid effort Friday night. In the two games previous, he scored a combined 6 points. Guh. I’m not sure the Wolves have much choice. It’s him or Mikael Gelabale, and Williams could see value as long as he’s seeing minutes.

Ricky Rubio – 18 pts, 11 ast, 2 reb. Oh Ricky! Muy bien! Who would knew he could be so good? You probably did when you drafted him way too early.

Luke Ridnour – 20 pts, 2 reb, 3 ast. As I always say, the force is strong with this one, and it could be even stronger if he gets traded. Trade him they might. Add him you could.

Marc Gasol – 20 pts, 11 reb, 5 ast, 1 stl. That one was for, Pau. Get well, mi hermano.

Tony Allen – 17 pts, 4 reb, 2 stl. I love me some T & A! Oh, is that not his nickname? No, of course I wouldn’t own him, but he is a great “real life” player. What is “real life?” Not sure, but my Warcraft friends tell me it is out there and it’s blue.

Jerryd Bayless – 14 pts, 3 ast in 27 minutes, 3 3pm. Continues to score even after returning to the bench, he’s averaging 18.3 pts, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 3pm over the past 7 games. What’s not to like, when you want more, you bayless.

Patrick Patterson – 16 pts, 6 reb, 2 blk. Pat-Pat is averaging 14 pts and 5.6 rebounds over the past two weeks and is owned in just 25% of leagues. Hot pick-up alert! If you need some points, rebounds and solid percentages pick up Patrick, and Pat-terson your on the back.

James Harden – 35 pts, 11 ast, 7 reb, 4 3pm. He gets better every day. Or does he grower stronger every day? Next! The World! Mwahaha!

Chauncey Billups – 7 pts, 4 ast in 16 minutes in the start in his first game back. Chauncey is certainly worth a speculative add if you got the room. When healthy, Billups can be good for 15 pts a game, 3-4 asts with 3-pointer potential. By the looks of the start, he’ll be eased back into things and hopefully he’ll hold up.

Chris Paul – 3 pts, 2 ast, 1 reb in 20 minutes. Ouch. CP3, how you gonna do me like that? I wouldn’t drop your Eric Bledsoes (7 pts, 6 ast, 4 reb in 28 minutes) just yet, but yeah, you’re probably going to have to soon. Paul should be back to form in no time.

Taj Gibson – 14 pts, 8 reb, 2 stl, 2 blk in 31 minutes. With Joakim Noah‘s (12 pts, 11 reb, 3 ast) return, Taj loses his value, but I’d wait to see if Noah’s injury lingers before dumping him completely.

Nate Robinson – 18 pts, 4 reb, 9 ast, 4 3pm. Nate is owned in about half of leagues, and until Rose and/or Hinrich return that number needs to double, i.e., the little guy should be owned everywhere right now!

Lebron James – 30 pts, 5 reb, 6 ast, 2 blk. DWade says ‘Bron is ‘off this planet’ right now. I assume the only planet that could be is the Globetrotter planet from Futurama. Maybe it was just bff Wade’s way of telling Lebron, you’re out of this world, Valentine! LBJ has made 37 of his past 47 field goals, and has four straight 30 point games. Yeah, he is good at basketball They say to save the best for last, and sigh, Lebron is the best.

Join us next Saturday for another Friday recap, as fantasy basketball continues next week, all week long!
