Don't be shellfish...Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+

Ahhhh weed jokes.  The Pacific Northwest.  Their team is the Blazers.  Rasheed Wallace used to play for them!  But I don’t think Oregon has legalized it yet.  What’s the world like in Colorado and Washington these days?  Something like Amsterdam?  Although, even though I went there, I hardly remember it.  If you have Damian Lillard though, you’re surely remembering the night he put up last night!  11-23 shooting, 8-12 3PTM for 36 points, a surprising 8 boards, and a dimebag right on the nose with 10 assists.  Plus a game-winner!  The near triple-double moves Lillard to 10th overall in Total Value according to Basketball Monster, and a true American Hero!  And by that, I mean my 19 overall rank of him got flack more than a few times through the rankings iterations, and looking peachy keen now.  He’s lowered his TOs almost a full turnover a game since his rookie year, upped the 3PT% and my favorite –  is becoming an elite FT% guy going 5.2-5.6 a night at 91.8% for the season.  Getting to the line and making em, pretty much the antithesis of Andre Drummond!  Hey o!  Oh wait, I mean, I’m jinxing Drummond, he’s the bast center in the world and will all the sudden shoot 95% from the stripe once he adopts the Barry granny shot… Here’s what else I saw last night in fantasy hoops:

LaMarcus Aldridge – There is no Escape from LA if you’re facing him this week, putting up 26/15/4/1/1 last night and even an injury scare sounds like it won’t cost him any time.  Got an X-Ray on his hand that reportedly had been bothering him for several weeks, which came back negative.  So if his hand feels better but his game suffers, bust out the hammer Joe Pesci!

Robin Lopez – Sideshow got into foul trouble, racking up 5 in just over 20 minutes for an 8/6 night.  I’m as much a Lopez hater as there is, but yeah, just a foul trouble game and he was still useful.

Kyrie Irving – 25/10.  I’ve seen a lot of comments regarding selling Irving.  I think he’s a good buy low, three really nice games out of the past four.

Dion Waiters – What is C.J. Miles still doing as a fake starter?!  Always starting and never gets to 20 minutes?!  Who is this guy, Willie Green?!  Anywho, Waiters got the majority of the 2 run, racking up 25 points on 11-19 shooting.  He’s been dealing with a sore knee, and dealing with drama.  I ain’t got time for dat!

Andrew Bynum – I ain’t got time for Bynum, neither!  13/9/2/2/0 on 6-12 shooting.  Had a really good run of four games in early December, then reminded everyone his knees wobble like when half the Jenga blocks have been pulled out.  The line last night is sadly his 4th or 5th best line on the year.

DeMarcus Cousins – Boogie make all points!  9-13 (12-15 FT) for a monstrous 30/17/6/3/0 night.  Andddd… the Kings lost by 8 to the Bobcats.  Sheesh.  Next thing you know he’s going to be leaving the court with two minutes left, and defend himself by saying he didn’t want the other team seeing him cry.

Rudy Gay – Accidentally injected his knee with Viagra.  Ruh roh.  Got stiffy on him. But he’s already said he’s hoping to play today.  Stay tuned.

Isaiah Thomas – Dude this curse of the lead topic is starting to gain momentum!  Worst game since the Vasquez trade of 21/2/4 on 8-23 shooting.  Not worried in the slightest.

Jeffery Taylor – The Bobcats 3 position is a black hole of soul-sucking athletic talent.  Taylor can make some huge dunks, stroke threes, but can do none of it as a starter.  Michael Kidd-Gilchrist wasn’t delivering before his hand shattered.  No one can run with it!  Taylor only 3-9 8/3/2 last night, but I still have faith in the upside in the deeper leagues.

Gerald Henderson – A steal away from a rainbow line.  Hoping something is sparked here for some multi-cat!

*Guess the Kobe Bryant Stat Line!* – Kobe had a better game than the last, that’s for sure, for 21/5/4/1/1.  And man, did we have two spot on guesses from matt and Jake VZ, with Jake the winner!  Both you guys were 2 points off up and down, but Jake a little closer on everything else.  Nice work Jake!  Good to see Kobe “only” have 4 TOs and shoot 50% if you stashed him.  Now, he tweaked his knee here, so all bets or off if he sits, but the Lakers don’t play again until Friday, so I’ll put a reminder on Friday morning’s recap and we’ll place our bets then if it’s looking like he plays!

Jordan Hill – I didn’t see any of this game, but only 7:31 as the starting 4, but racked up four fouls.  Had to be some foul trouble issues cutting down his game here.  But still, tough to like any of the Doh-Toni’s on the front line after Pau Gasol in shallower leagues.

Xavier Henry – The prophecy is coming true!  As I said yesterday, Wheels is playing well in December only on every other game.  It’s like Alex Rios’ career!  5/3/1/2/1 for a solid multi-cat line in 20 minutes, but shot 2-8, and a down one.  Friday will be another barometer, he has to go off there!

Jon Leuer – Well, I guess as opposed to IT2, Leuer has been huge since that lead a few weeks ago, and marched onto even shallow league teams.  Leuer-ed in!  13/7/1/1/1 last night with three treys from a big man.  Starting 4 Tayshaun Prince played 9:09 (although an injury may be involved, no news yet) and starting 5 Kosta Koufos played  13:03.  Leuer for 27:28 and that front court is hungry for minutes for a decent while until Marc Gasol is back.  Hook, Leuer, Sinker!  Wait, it’s line not lure right?  The only fishing I do is grabbing the last yellowfin off the tray!

Tony Allen –  No Mike Conley last night, and Allen had a solid night of 16/7/5/2/1 near rainbow-glory.  Deeper leagues can keep him on the radar if no Conley around next game.

Kenyon Martin – Missing at least the next two weeks with a strained ab.  Keeps Andrea Bargnani looking at a starting role even with the return of Tyson Chandler.  Amar’e Stoudemire also going to get some rest, tweeting he’s not hurt. Just so many old, over-the-hill big men with drama I don’t know what to do!  It’s like that De Niro movie where they get hammered in Vegas…

J.J. Hickson – While Timofey Mozgov gave it a tiny bit of a run a few weeks ago, Hickson has remained solid and huge 20/14 last night.  Not much of anything else past points and boards, but staying useful and I think solid ROS.

Russell Westbrook – Almost t-dubbed himself for 21/13/8.  But had 8 TOs.  AKA Kentavious Caldwell-Pope‘s season total.  Man I love that KCP stat…

Steven Adams vs. Jordan Hamilton – Fight!  Fight!  Who ya got?!  Who ya got!?  Dude, I got so pumped when I saw that Hamilton got ejected for “trying to punch Adams” and it was lammmme.  Lammmmme!  Adams didn’t even see what happened.  Let’s get these guys riled up!  “Hey Adams, Hamilton said the All Blacks are a bunch of wankahs!”

Harrison Barnes – Now there’s someone that got hit in the face!  Took a blow from Lou Amundson, who took a page from Gerald Henderson in how to hit tar heels in the face.

Andre Iguodala – Returned last night, but still not gettin’ Iggy with it.  Shaking off the rust, and still like him decently moving forward, although maybe not at that pace he was at in the very beginning of the season.

Austin Rivers – He’s a Dookie so I’m obviously not a fan, but shot 4-12 last night for 11/4/0/2/0 in 27 minutes off the bench with no Tyreke Evans nursing his oft-injured ankles.  In a very deep league and need a scoring stream over the next few days?  Keep on eye on Evans’ status and Rivers could be an option.

Next Game: MEM @ DAL tonight!  Woop woop, ready to get my Leuer on!  Thanks for stopping by!

Go Panthers, JB! Based on your above comments, I may already know the answer to this, but given the choice of starting Marcin Gortat @BKN or Robin Lopez @MIN tonight, who do you go with?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Sherm: how bout dem Panthers!? I’d play Gortat

      • Sherm says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Gortat 14 points, Lopez 8. Small victories add up.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Sherm: Yessir! If I get 60% of questions right, it’s a good year!

  2. Should I pick up Ilyasova and drop either Terrence Jones or Beverly.

My bigs are Davis, Ibaka , Brooke Lopez and jones.

    • @Derrick Yu:

I guess what I want to know is, do you think Ilyasova will turn it around. I can stash him and wait for him o do so.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Derrick Yu: Ehhh, at the eye level the past week, where I caught 2 Bucks games, Ilyasova looked awful and a shell of what I saw last year. Maybe worth the stash for PBev, but I would probably hold

  3. allen says:
    (link)

Sup JB…what a dagger from lillard last night wow with .4 seconds. My last 3 bench spots are occupied by ross, burks, and waiters. In a vacuum would u drop any of those guys to grab kanter???

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@allen: Lillard for MVP! Nah, i don’t like Kanter’s bench role for any consistency, I’d hold the upside guys you have

I thought my 18/5/8/2/0 guess was tight. Didn’t predict the blocks tho. I want to just perpetually guess 6 TOs…

Who would you offer for Kyrie? Lawson, IT2, a combo of Knight/Evan Turner? I also have Wall amd Westbrook but I think i’ll be keeping them

    Thanks JB

Hope you like my Twitter feed. Its pretty much just jokes

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@The Fantasy Dick: You were definitely close man! On a day when two people didn’t get it almost dead on, that might won. Haha yup 6 TOs every night sounds about right… Mannnnn, I’d try the Knight Turner first,, just staking up those PGs would be awesome. I really like Lawson and IT2, Lawson would be the trade chip I’d use next. Joke away my man!

  5. Ryan says:
    (link)

In my 14 team h2h keeper league. We keep 5. I was offered hibbert ryan anderson for big al and favors. Do I consider this?

Btw should I drop maclemore for jarrett jack?

    pg damian lillard
    g Jeff teague
    sg james harden
    sf kevin durant
    f john henson
    pf Brendan Wright
    c al jefferson
    c demarcus cousins
    util Derrek favors
    util Martel Webster
    bn ben mclemore
    bn Lou Williams
    bn Channing frye

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Ryan: Yeah I’d consider it, but I don’t think I’d do it, I think Jefferson is coming back to close to what we thought. Man, McLemore has been so annoying… I’d be fine with that move

  6. Corey says:
    (link)

I’m in a 12 team, 9 cat league. Punting turnovers. I’m currently tied for 6tb place and have Marc gasol. Should I drop Beverley for farmar? I’m torn because I like Beverley’s steals and he gets 30+ minutes a game. But I wonder how farmar will do when Nash returns. Should I pull the trigger? Thanks!

    • Corey says:
      (link)

@Corey: other options are Reggie Jackson and Terrence Ross. I don’t get the big hype about Ross though. Looking at his season averages, he only gets .5 steals in 20 minutes and has low shooting percentage.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Corey: I’d rank them Ross, Jackson, PBev, Farmar right now, I think I could get Ross, 4 steals in last 4 games, with the increase in minutes he’s going to get I think the steals come up

  7. sam smith says:
    (link)

    should i do this trade?

i give up alrdrdige and teague, i get curry

im in a eight team head to head cats league

    thanks guys

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@sam smith: Yeah I probably wouldnt either, in a shallow league it makes it very close though

  8. justin.g says:
    (link)

You think dropping any of the following for G Ant since his time seems to be near? Wilson Chandler, Tobias Harris are probably my weakest dudes. Not wanting to drop them but just wanted to get your thoughts.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@justin.g: Nah, I think I’d hold there, don’t trust a 19-year old off the bench for Larry Drew

  9. Jake Van Zuiden says:
    (link)

I sent my Klay for his DWill. Good move if he bites on it?

  10. Corey says:
    (link)

Should I drop Marvin Williams for Giannis? Problem is I already have mayo and ilyasova on my team. I also have 3 players on the hawks so it might be too many players on one team on my team.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Corey: Haha, no one wants that many Bucks! That said, I think I would grab Giannis there, not a big Marvin fan

  11. Dr Radical says:
    (link)

Thoughts on trading Vucevic for Jrue Holiday (I would be getting Holiday)? I am getting killed on Assists and Steals (I drafted D Rose….)

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Dr Radical: I normally would take Vuc, but it’s close and fits your needs, I like it

  12. Bon says:
    (link)

    is this trade
al jeff, jeff teague for wade, jokim noah
    i have the jeffs
    worth going for?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Bon: Very very very close. You know, I’m gonna say hold off, I like Jefferson to bounce back and don’t like Wade getting sat every now and then

  13. Matthew says:
    (link)

    JB!!!

I’m the guy who was talking to you about getting Gerald Hendo, Vucevic and Thornton for my Rubio JV and Beverly

I am gonna counter with a JV and Rubio for Aldridge

    but

    I got offered

Rondo and Batum for my Rubio and JV, Would you take the risk?

    • Matthew says:
      (link)

      @Matthew: @Matthew: ANTOHER QUESTION!!!

The Vucevic guy just countered with
      Vucevic
      Henderson
      Thornton

      for

      Rubio
      Brewer
      Kanter

I mean for the most part at this point it seems like I am getting Vucevic and Henderson for Rubio? I am really trying to get Aldridge. Maybe I can counter with JV Kanter and Rubio, haha, I will make executive decisions, thanks JB!!!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Matthew: I actually love the Rondo and Batum deal, it’s risky, a lot weighs on Rondo’s effectiveness, but love Batum at the discount. Like if you got the Aldridge one too. I’d give up Brewer before JV in that one Vuc guy countered with, maybe let that one stew a minute and see if the other two deals which I like much more can work

  14. Kevin says:
    (link)

Hey JB. just want to take this time to say you and the rest of Razzball are awesome!

Anyways, howard/oladipo for greivis vasquez/westbrook? Thanks, in advance!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Kevin: Thanks man! The fans make us awesome, and thanks for stopping by! Ehhh, not loving it, not a big Vasquez fan. Westbrook is best in deal, but love Howard and Dipo. Maybe a slightly better piece than Vasquez and I’d like it

      • Kevin says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: so the same guy made a counter offer for howard and oladipo, i could get stephen curry! I couldn’t even tell if he was joking! Only way to tell is if he actually accepts the offer.

should i even be asking him to offer somebody else with curry? he does have to drop a player.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Kevin: If his last guy on his bench helps ya out, maybe, but you risk the trade falling through, I’d take it!

  15. Tony says:
    (link)

    LOOKING TO THE FUTURE:
18 team keeper, KEEP 4, already set on Harden & Paul George….. John Henson’s shaping up into my 3rd and I need that 4th, right now, who would ya keep:

    $3 Jordan Crawford 1193 fpts
$10 Wes Matthews 1162 fpts with our league settings…..

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Tony: Right now it’s Matthews because Rondo coming back is going to eat into Crawford’s points.

  16. teeque says:
    (link)

    Hey JB,

Just listened to your recommendation and traded for Bosh and Kevin Martin for Zbo, Sully, and Reggie Jackson. Deal is still pending league review, so hopefully it goes through. It’s a veto happy league.

Which 2 would you rather have out of Wes Johnson, Danny Green, Pat Bev, and Giannis?

Kind of a hard debate for me. Thanks for you advice so far this season. I am in 2 championship’s for football and hopefully getting to the NBA this season.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@teeque: Stupid vetoe-ers! If that gets vetoed I’m gonna smack your league mates. I’d go PBev and Green I think there, love Giannis’ upside, but hate Larry Drew and inconsistent usage. Awesome man, let 2013-14 be the year of teeque!

      • teeque says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

Thanks Bro! Let’s get it together!

  17. I love lamp says:
    (link)

    Gianis or Middleton?

    • I love lamp says:
      (link)

      @I love lamp: or udrih?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@I love lamp: I’d go Giannis of the 3 for upside

  18. Pavel says:
    (link)

Yo JB in my Dynasty league this fool is all about lebron. And I have a lot of guards. He just offered for me to trade away
    my: Lebron/Lawson/Conley
    for his: Favors/Aldridge/CP3

Now, I have a ton of guards (lawson, rondo, conley, vasquez, farmar, williams)
and his notables are : jefferson, favors, cp3, harden, teague, aldridge, deron williams, larry sanders.

He really wants lebron (and lawson). I figure I could really take something away from him (maybe even draft picks) so that I could really bolster my squad. I figure now that I have plenty of assists, I could use the big man help. Do I re-offer a trade. Or try to go for kd or anthony davis, etc.? Your thoughts?

p.s. we keep 12 players in the offseason

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Pavel: I think you’re giving up too much with Lawson in there, but it’s close. Maybe try Davis instead of Favors or tweak to keep Lawson, I like Lawson a lot

  19. DanThe MuttFan says:

    16 Team Head to Head
Jr hardaway was dropped, worth picking up? Which guy goes..
    Al-Farouq Aminu
    Khris Middleton

No idea what I should do, it seems when I drop someone they get hot again.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@DanThe MuttFan: Haha, I’d grab Hardaway for Middleton I think, btu would wait to see how K Midd does tonight, which so far is nothing through half the 1st

  20. Michael says:
    (link)

    Thank you JeeBus!!

Dropped Brewer instead of Harris and that saved me from pulling my hair out.

Btw I got both Hickson for TJones and Burks for Brewer. I think I made the right call with your help.

Hope your team does well. Can’t wait for tomorrows read.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Michael: Haha any time! Glad to teach from the Razzball hilltop. Nice! Harris a good game tonight, big minutes, but no Afflalo. Still, glad all the moves worked! Burks looking like he might turn the corner to have solid games more often than not. Thanks!

      • Michael says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Yeah at least we know he can put up fantasy goodies. Even as a bench player he could potentially see a lot of minutes still. Plus Davis is getting hurt almost every game. Sooner or later he’ll be out and Harris would take that role. Hope I didn’t jinx him. Haha

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Michael: Haha he’s so brittle, you need to knock on wood!

  21. Nikko says:
    (link)

How do you feel about Cousins and Bledsoe for Paul George and Batum in a league w/o FG%

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Nikko: Would easily take George and Batum, but offers never hurt!

      • Nikko says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: what if he added Rubio (George and Batum) for MCW (DMC and Bledsoe)?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Nikko: Still much rather George side

  22. Shoop Da Whoop says:
    (link)

Have Danny Green and Bargnani. Frye, Ross, Pierce, Bass, Brandan Wright, Brewer are on the wire. Dropping Bargnani and adding Frye seems like trading a couple points for more threes and better percentages. Ross seems like the upside pick for Green. Thoughts?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Shoop Da Whoop: Def want Ross for Green. Ehhh, I might hold Bargs for Frye, I’m just not a big Frye guy and Bargs is going to keep getting minutes. That said, I might pick up Pierce for Bargs, nice line tonight, think he starts gettin on a roll

  23. Kevin says:
    (link)

Soooo… Is it time to drop terrence jones for asik?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Kevin: I see the news out there, but still with nothing official, I’m holding Jones
