I hate you Larry Drew.  First you go and make your son Larry Drew II feel like he’s some sort of special talent and have him quit UNC, then you take over a Bucks team that all want to leave too.  Why do I have so much invested in the Bucks?!  I hate the Bucks!  In a game where the Spurs doubled Milwaukee’s points in the first quarter (32 to 16), then went up by 23 at halftime, then after 3 were up 38, Drew decided to kill fantasy teams by playing their F-team virtually the whole second half.  As in, a D-League team could beat those guys.  Brandon Knight got 18 minutes after an impressive game two nights ago.  John Henson got 21 after the huge breakout.  O.J. Mayo, yes that terrible, horrible, not gelling on this awful team O.J. Mayo led the starters with 22 minutes on a 3/0/0/0/0 line with a TO.  Ok, ok, so Drew let his scrubs play in the blowout, good to see Giannis Antetokounmpo get some development time at just over 33 minutes, but the icing on the cake was Drew gave Ersan Ilyasova, a guy that looks like a humanoid Turkey, 39 minutes?!  How is that developing young talent?!  Ersan goes out and shoots 3-16 for an 8/6/2 game.  The Bucks are the worst.  Drew is like, “at least I can stick to those idiot fantasy players!”  No, you the idiot Drew!  You’re holding Henson obviously and Knight I think you stick with, but I don’t want any of these other guys on a 12-teamer.  I know I like Khris Middleton, but he was part of the starting mess and I just dropped Mayo in some sort of RCL travesty I should probably take my name off of.  I still think Knight, Mayo, Middleton and Henson are locked in as starters for now, but man, I really hope they look good facing the even worse Bulls again on Friday.  Enough ranting from me!  Here’s what else I saw last night in fantasy hoops:

Orlando Magic – 7 players went into double-figures in a win.  Spreading the Holiday cheer!  “What’s with the team-wide analysis JB, you lazy or somethin’!?”  Maybe!  But nothing really stuck out.  Victor Oladipo was a block away from a RainbOladipo!  And Nikola Vucevic returned from the ankle injury.  And all was what you were hoping for if you own your Magic.  I hope you were taking notes Larry Drew…

Jeffery Taylor – Very unsatisfying 8/1/2 in a 31 minute start.  Although he was the only positive +/- starter.  Not that that really means anything…

Jeff Green – Took over the main scoring role, but it didn’t end up a win for the Cs.  10-23 for 29/4/1 hitting three treys.  Hey, it made the Celtics competitive with the Clippers!

Jordan Crawford – I think I turned my nose up at Crawford way too much.  Turning into a really really good PG.  Of course, when Rajon Rondo is back that changes everything, but 20/9 last night and 20+ Pts 7+ Asts in three of the last four.  Slim, why do you own everyone interesting in REL?!

Jamal Crawford – Shocking that Jordan is the Crawford you want to own in fantasy.  Well, except Cindy Crawford… That’s a different fantasy!  Also shocking Crawford almost pitched a rainbow line tent, for 21/3/3/1/2.  He’s not just a scorer!  Except that he is…

Jason Smith – Maybe because he chucks up labradoodles all the live long day, I guess I never took him seriously as a boarder.  Border terrier maybe! 12+ boards in three of the past four and 9+ in the past four.  Huge 22/16 night with two blocks against Razzball Commenter favorite Andre Drummond.  Andre wasn’t so much of a giant last night. huh?!  HUH?!?!  I feel like Smith has been a common fringe-owned guy in 12-teamers’ questions, and should remain in that range, but with a hint of more solidification.

Al-Farouq Aminu – Another big game.  El Burro is just drooling at his fantasy team.  Aminu is like the bell to his Pavlovian instincts.  11/14/4/1/2 in a near rainbow-delight.  So now the past two, since our guesses, it’s an average 9/12/3.5/0.5/1.  I think mine was closer!  But he’s playing better than I expected with the giant Unibrow hole in that lineup…

Tyreke Evans – Shocked… SHOCKED.  SHOCKED I SAY!!!!  Wichita State shocked that he was back in the lineup after going down in so much pain last Friday night that he had to have help into the locker room.  I really like watching Tyreke play so I won’t dog his pain threshold, but the numbers had him looking pretty out there at 14/7/3/2/0 in just over 24 minutes shooting 4-7 (6-6 FT).  Still, I’m flabbergasted.  Even if he was back I figured he’d be sub-20 mins.  Sorry to flip-flop on you, but I thought this would be a lingering injury so see if someone cut bait, or if you did, send me a vine of a tomato coming at the screen.

Rodney Stuckey – Proves he can never just go away.  20/4/4 in 33 minutes shooting 7-16 with 6-6 at the stripe.  I have personal bias, so take this with a grain of salt, but I still don’t trust him as a sure-fire 12-teamer guy.

Kyle Singler – My bias on Singler is much more honed in.  He a Dookie!  But wanted to point out the 8/2/2/1/3 near rainbow.  But it was a mere anomaly as he had 7 blocks on the season heading into this game.

Jeff Ayres – Started at C for the Spurs, played over 25 minutes, grabbed 10 boards, but didn’t take a single shot.  10 boards without a FG attempt?!  Stop it Reggie Evans!  But look how happy Ayres is to be a Spur… I might cheer for him on that picture alone.

James Anderson – Had a resurgence back into fantasy relevance last night with 32 mins off the bench for 16/8/2.  Mister Anderson!  Still not a huge fan.

Evan Turner – Racked up 9 turnovers last night.  The last time someone put together 9 turnovers in a night it was Shawn Kemp at a buffet table…

Tony Wroten – Another start for the injured Michael Carter-Williams.  Another solid line.  20/3/4/1/1 on 8-13 shooting and didn’t have his sub-60% FT percentage kill you going 3-4.  He’s as good a streamer as it gets until MCW is back.

Kevin Martin – Brutal!  Was ice cold shooting 1-9 for an atrocious 5/0/2/1/0 line.  He even missed a free throw!  Automatic tough night for Kmart right there.  Maybe temporary buy low smidge of a crack if you wanna toss an offer out there, I like what he’s doing even if his ROS isn’t quite up to what he’s on pace for.

Mike Dunleavy – This was unfortunately the game I had to watch last night against the Knicks.  So, so bad.  When you have an offense so brutal you are giving Dunleavy 24 shots, you know it’s over.  Yes, even in the East.  7-24 FG (3-11 3PTM) for a 20/8/3/3/1 line.  I unfortunately think he’s getting into the 12-teamer mix based on just pure talent depravity on the Bulls.  Will get shots, shots will lead to increased run which will equate to decent enough ancillary stats.

D.J. Augustin – Officially signed by the Bulls as Slim reported early yesterday morning.  Kirk Hinrich was getting clowned by Barry and Tirico on ESPN for being on something like a 1-23 shooting slump.  And Marquis Teague is horrible.  So Augustin could find his way into some slightly relevant run deeper into the season, so keep on your radar.

Amar’e Stoudemire – Lord help us… Looked like the second best Knick out there last night.  7-11 for 14/9/1/2/1.  Played 30 minutes and it was his first back-to-back appearance.  Big run on no rest has me thinking he’s feeling like 20% of his old self.  Which shockingly is ownable in 12-teamers.

Andrea Bargnani – Less shocking is Bargnani looking awful lately.  8/3/1/1/1 in 27 minutes.  If you harken back to when I said he was an own in all leagues, I said he needed to be at 30+ minutes.  Hasn’t topped that in 4 of the past 5.  Now droppable in almost all leagues.  But you have to admit, he gave you a good run!  A-thank you Il Diva!

Kenyon Martin – Had a series of three blocks on one possession.  Was friggin’ awesome.  And ended with a rainbow!  3/7/3/3/4.  So colorful like his tatts…

Jon Leuer – Speaking of colorful!  Look at that rainbow line!  Awww, my lead pick has never felt so much better…  17/6/2/2/2 in 32 minutes last night with two threes and 5-5 FT.  Leuer me in!  Needs to be on 12-team squads right now, at least until Ed Davis is back.

Steven Adams – Speaking of awful… Sprained his ankle/knee on a non-contact.  Sadface.  I will sing Kumbaya with ya Slim…

Enes Kanter – Why I’ve been hesitant on him in his nice renaissance this past week.  Marvin Williams and Derrick Favors retuned from injury and Kanter got shipped back to the bench for 17:15 mins for 8/3 ball and racked up 5 fouls.  Enes Angry!

Alec Burks - Officially still hot.  7-11 for 17/3/2.  Ride the wave, baby!  But then again, a shark could bite off his left leg again at any point…

Derrick Williams – As Will Smith would say, “Welcome to Earff!”

Ben McLemore – White flag!  Not to be confused with White Castle.  Because while they may be smaller, at least White Castle gives you something!  While McLemore gives you nothing… Rudy Gay is going to steamroll his upside.  I’m cutting in 12-teamers.

Isaiah Thomas – Love ya IT2!  20/3/7.  I think he might average 20/7 without breaking too much of a sweat.

Stephen Curry – Would have given you even more points if game-winners give you bonus scoring!  Let’s be honest, would be a pretty cool stat addition…  33/4/10 with 6 treys.  Unreal.

Klay Thompson – Why the teachings of Razzball should be followeth and carryeth!  11/3/1 on 3-14 shooting, with all 3 makes treys.  ThrAGNOF!

Next Game: It’s a TNT OT night!  LAC @ BKN.  Blowout alert!  Over/under a… 18-point win for the Clips?  I actually take under, but barely.  Man, Doc gets the Celtics last night then his hall of famers tonight.  Hope your matchups are going well this week and thanks for stopping by!

I decided to stream Hinrich this week because he had some great matchups. “It’s just a little shooting slump, how bad could it be?” I told myself. I dropped him sometime in the 4th quarter of last night’s dumpster fire. What are your thoughts on Big Baby? I don’t like him at all as a real life player, but his stats have been pretty nice since he’s come back.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Clyde Prompto: Dumpster fire indeed. I’m not a Big Baby fan, agree no fun in real life, but as a streamer until he gets traded/hurt/benched I’d be fine with

  2. Slim

    Slim says:
    (link)

Poor Steven Adams. Sniff sniff… I’ll send you a get well soon card. The fantasy gods are not all doom and despair though. On the night I lose Adams, Shumpert also goes down. Insert emoticon of your choosing here!

I’m pretty sure Jordan Crawford is outplaying my $2 investment. And who knows, If/When Rondo is run out of town maybe JC can remain a superstar. His per game average makes him my 3rd best player, slightly ahead of my 4th best player… Jeremy Evans, with a Yahoo per game ranking of 87 in only 22 minutes per game.

Just the usual day at the office in 20 minutes for Evans last night. 9/6/3 with 1 block, 0 TOers, and helped both %s. No complaints here. Marvin and Kanter didn’t exactly separate themselves last night either. I have a feeling 18-24 minutes is where he’s destined to stay but his 22 MPG have been stellar. Stream worthy in 12 team leagues? I think so.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Slim: Haha “pretty sure???” JC has been your superstar! Hah. Yeah Evans seemed to do good. Stream worthy mayyyybe, but barely when everyone is healthy

  3. Sio says:

got offered durant and hibbert for aldridge, ellis and rondo. thoughts? i’m thinking hold but it’s durant!

    • Sio says:
      (link)

@Sio: countered with KD for aldridge, korver and rondo. you think he’ll bite?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Sio: I like that counter. If you needed blocks, I think I like the first one, you get an elite guy, the best guy, and don’t lose everything

hahaha i had a feeling about this one. If you really want numbers i like 19 47 14 36 68 if that wins lemme get like 10K

  5. Jake Van Zuiden says:
    (link)

My goodness… Woke up to 5, I repeat, 5 trade requests. This is by far the most active league I have ever been in and I love it. SO MANY TRADES. The owner that sent the trade with IT2 and Conely withdrew the offer before I could get back to it. Anyways, as usual I would like your input on each trade..

    1) MCW and Harden for my Westbrook and Klay
    2) Durant and M Gasol for my Klay, Cousins, and Iguodala
    3) Deng and Parsons for my Klay, Iguodala, and Brewer
    4) IT2, Jennings, and Hawes for my Westbrook, Burke, and Gortat
    5) Lee and Irving for my Westbrook and Cousins

Kind of worried about Deng’s injuries and potentially his value taking a big hit if he’s traded. Let me know what you think! thanks!

    • pavel says:
      (link)

@Jake Van Zuiden: He wants Westbrook a lot. First trade is good. The second one id do when gasol is about to play again

    • Zar says:
      (link)

@Jake Van Zuiden: Out of those..I’d take trade 2. You get KD as your main course with Gasol as a side. You give up a volatile Cousins (When will he explode/implode next??), and an injured Iggy. Summary-Number 1 Pick with another 1st rounder for a bunch of 3rd rounders…….Sounds tasty :D

    • Zar says:
      (link)

@Jake Van Zuiden: If you can pull off both 1 and 2…….you would be golden…..Who was your round 1 pick? You could have Harden, Durant, Gasol, and whoever you started with …….I’d hate to play against that.

      • Jake Van Zuiden says:
        (link)

@Zar: It was Love haha yeah that’d be awesome

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Jake Van Zuiden: I like 1, getting Durant is huge, agree with above love 2, nah not in love with 3 or 4, 5 seems like a coin flip

  6. Ryan says:
    (link)

I’m in a 14 team h2h keeper league. I’m thinking of trading big al and lou williams for tony parker and brandon bass. Is this a good move to make? Team is below

    pg damian lillard
    g Jeff teague
    sg james harden
    sf kevin durant
    f john henson
    pf Derek Williams
    c al jefferson
    c demarcus cousins
    util Derrek favors
    util Martel Webster
    bn ben mclemore
    bn Lou Williams
    bn Channing frye

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

      @Ryan: Nah I wouldn’t I think your team needs Big Al’s upside.

  7. Pavel says:
    (link)

aye, dynasty league question. This is a 12-deep league with standard cats, plus offensive rebounds. This is my current squad. and we get to keep 12 in the offseason.

    pg: lawson/mo williams/rondo/blake/foye
    sg:kobe/terrence ross
    sf:lebron/jeff green/taylor/middleton/caron butler
    pf:ibaka/nowitzki/nene/morris/
    c:noah/hibbert

my team has been doing ok. but I wonder what moves I could do to really excel in this league. need some advie.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Pavel: Kinda a tough question, get Rondo back healthy will help! Hah. I think Blake is droppable given this elbow injury is gonna keep him out now a while for a hot big man, maybe try a Nowitzki for Drummond or something, you get Drummond’s youth an OREB, but I don’t know if Drummond owner would take it

      • Pavel says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Aye JB, since this is a dynasty league where we keep 12 in the offseason. Guy really wants LBJ. So He has a deep team (key players include):
Wall, P. George, Drummond, K.Love, Batum, Curry, Bledsoe, Pau Gasol, Wade

He currently offered P.George+Bledsoe. Do I take it? Or should I try to up the offer. Say K.love and bledsoe? etc. whatchu think. He also likes Kobe on my squad.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Pavel: I would hold James I think, George and Bledsoe is close though. I’d try to move Kobe if you can nab him

  8. Jay_0321 says:
    (link)

Duuuuuuude! I just got offered Drummond (who was mine originally), Beal (who was mine originally) and Favors (who was mine originally) for Millsap and Ibaka….

What the hell….FML….Do I make this deal?

    • Jay_0321 says:
      (link)

@Jay_0321: I also have Dwight…I will be the laughing stock of the league in FT%, which I already am dead last!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Jay_0321: Hah, I think I’d hold, I think Ibaka is still best player in deal and I’m worried about Beal’s leg. Very close though

  9. Kevin says:
    (link)

    Hey JB.

I’m not doing so hot in 3s and FT% in my league right now. i think i have a great team, which i don’t mind punting TOs and FT%. but if i can up my 3s, assists, and FT%, even better.

guards – Wall, bledsoe, Lowry, Dunleavy, tyreke evans, Oladipo, burke
big men – DH12, derrick favors, koufos, valanciunas, robin lopez, anthony davis.

here are my 3 trades i put out to my league and hopefully someone would bite:

    1) favors + bledsoe –> klay + david west
    2) favors + bledsoe + valancianas –> aldridge + ryan anderson
    3) Dwight + favors –> stephen curry.

any tips/changes you recommend so the trades could be more convincing? in the end, i don’t having my team as is. there’s always room for improvement, ya know? Thanks in advance, JB.

    • Kevin says:
      (link)

      @Kevin: *13 team H2H.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Kevin: If you could get the Curry one that’d be awesome! I don’t remember who it was, but I like Lillard as a guy to fit all those needs and maybe that owner needs a big. I think all of those trades are fair and just hope to see some counters!

  10. allen says:
    (link)

Sup JB…ginobli is on waivers in my league and i could probably grab him. What are your thoughts on picking him up in a 12 teamer. Would be losing my streamer spot to pick him up. Been streaming guys like aminu, dunleavy, etc.

    Thanks bud.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@allen: Well Aminu and Dunleavy had hot games, I think I leave it a streamer spot with guys like that out there, but I like Ginobili in the short term

  11. Joe says:

10-team, 9-cat. Please rank ROS: OJ Mayo, Jason Smith, Reggie Jackson, Martell Webster, Tobias Harris, Danny Green, Alec Burks. Thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Joe: A lot depends on team needs, and some are comparing apples to oranges. I probably like Jackson the most ROS

      • Joe says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Not sure I have any glaring needs, I’m doing pretty well in pretty much all the categories right now, when looking at league standings. Other than Jackson, do any of that group stand out as a tier above the rest? I can only own 4 of the 7 guys I listed… Here’s my team, not including the guys on that list:

        PG: CP3
        SG: DeRozan
SF: Korver (I know you’re not a big fan but he’s been quite good, would rather keep him)
        PF: Bosh
        C: Big Al
        G: Jordan Crawford
        G: Conley
        F: Monroe
        F: Amir Johnson
        C: Pekovic
        Util: Robin Lopez

        • Joe says:
          (link)

@Joe: FT% is probably my worst category. Assists might become more of an issue once Rondo comes back…

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@Joe: No one really stands out past that, I don’t like Tobias bc the F situation in ORL, love what Smith is doing now but that will go down with Davis back, Webster is hurt, Burks is streaky, Green plays on inconsistent minutes Spurs.

            • Joe says:
              (link)

@JB Gilpin: @Joe:Yeah, there are definitely serious flaws with all of them. I’m thinking of going with upside which, to me, probably means Jackson, Harris, Webster (might be back tomorrow…), and Green (maybe minutes go back up to 25-30…?). I feel like best case scenario for Mayo at this point is top 80-90ish overall, and while it sucks to drop Smith now, he’s not a long-term investment… Would going with those 4 make sense?

              • JB Gilpin

                JB Gilpin says:
                (link)

@Joe: Yup I like that, Green would be my 2nd

  12. Jake Van Zuiden says:

Really pushing hard to get Deron Williams and/or Drummond. My roster is Wall, Westbrook, Rubio, Burke, Thompson, Iguodala, Brewer, Love, Cousins, BLopez, Ibaka, Gortar, Valanciunas, T Jones
His roster is Williams, Hill, Foye, Batum, Matthews, Henderson, Ginobli, Barnes, Thad Young, ZBo, Pau, RLopez, Drummond, and Sullinger

Can you please give me a few offers I could send him for either one or packaging them together would be great. Thanks again JB!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Jake Van Zuiden: Hmmm a lot of moving parts. I think it’s a clear win if MCW stays healthy. I really like Burke, but Vuc and potentially MCW are best players in deal, I take it

      • Jake Van Zuiden says:

Hi. I’m currently ranked no.1 on my 9 CAT Roto league. I’m currently last in FG% and 2nd to the last in Turnovers. But as soon as Marc Gasol and Anthony Davis get back, I’ll be on track in FG% hopefully. When do you think Marc Gasol will get back? Thanks.

    • JB Gilpin

  16. John says:

What do you think of Glen Davis for Hawes trade? Which side wins? Hawes’ shooting is cooling off while Davis will now have Vucevic and Tobias Harris back soon. I heard that Rockets is asking for Hawes for Asik. I doubt Hawes will continue his double double attacks in Houston. I still got Ilyasova and Oladipo in my bench. Should I drop either of them for Asik (moving soon), Paul Pierce, Henderson, Knight, Valanciunas, George Hill, Nelson or Tobias Harris. I currently rank no. 1 and I’m just looking for backup. Thanks.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@John: I like getting Hawes. I’ll believe a deal when it’s all finalized, for example, Josh Smith was supposed to go to a lot of teams last year and never happened. I dunno if I were the Sixers I’d give up Hawes or Thad for just Asik. I’d get Hill as solid backup for Ilyasova

I waste a 4th round pick on Sanders, then Drew decides to give that dunce Zaza Pachulia (who can’t block a shot despite being a 7-footer) the majority of minutes at center over Sanders, which causes Sanders to be on edge during his time off the court, which led to him blowing a fuse in his brain when some drunk bachelor party sprayed champagne on him in da club, which led to the injury, which led to me dropping his ass.

    Hey JB

With Ed Davis potentially coming back soon or maybe even today, would you drop Jon Leuer for Dray Blatche? Bropez got hurt AGAIN..

@m1chael: I saw that, but Lopez came back in the game and is traveling… Mannnn very close because I love the youthful upside, but I think Blatche is better ROS
