Yet another start for the Gorgui Apparatus, with Gorgui Dieng going all out with a Goromotaro!  I have to say, definitely the most unexpected Goromotaro since the term was coined.  22/21/4/1/0 and double-doubles in his last three games.  Except this was a double double-double.  There’s so many Ds in that sentence you’d think I was daydreaming about Tyra Banks!  And while Gorgui is out proving that he’s America’s Next Top C, what are doing right now in crunch time of fantasy?  He’s a tough guy to leave on the wire, but the Wolves only have Sunday left this week, and Nikola Pekovic is traveling with the team.  Pek is questionable, but Dieng has given the team every excuse to keep the youngun out there with pretty much no realistic expectations to make the playoffs.  So unless you’ve got a bye with a real scrub and you can stash Gorgui and hope for another big upside game, or your line-up is virtually full Friday and Saturday, you’re probably letting him ride in 10 or 12ers H2H.  Roto he’s worth a spin and if you’re crushing it in week 1 of the playoffs, maybe worth a stache as well.  Oh no, Grey has me daydreaming about baseball!  Mmmmm, Tyra Banks and baseball.  Get out of my head Grey!  What will be really interesting next year is what the Wolves do up front with Kevin Love having an uncertain future and Pek a FA.  Dieng would probably be a really flashy flyer if he projects to start.  Here’s what else I saw last night in NBA action:

Steve Nash – Yup.  You read that right.  Steve Nash.  Probable tonight.  Cue the Jewish mom from South Park: “What what what?!”  Kendall Marshall is like, “camon, what do I have to do to get my big PG minutes back!?”  Obviously not touching Nash anytime soon, but makes one of the most annoying fantasy-providing teams even more annoying.

Dion Waiters – No one on the Cavs can score, what’d you expect?  Put up 30 on 25 shots and an abysmal 6-12 FT.  Luol Deng really couldn’t have gotten hurt at a worse time.

Matthew Dellavedova – Threw out a dimebag!  Got 33 minutes in Cleveland’s depleted backcourt, and while no one is buying much, did have 6 the game before and could be a very deep league dime option.

Anderson Varejao – Even with the state of things with injuries, 19 minutes.  Not a shallow leaguer.

Reggie Jackson – With Russell Westbrook sitting as a knee precaution, RJ still wasn’t huge.  13/4/5/1/0 is fine, but yeah, if that’s his starting minutes upside, probably can stream that spot in 10 or 12.

Ricky Rubio – After Wednesday’s humungo, this was a dungo.  5/2/8/0/0 with 2 TOs.  The Wolves just got pummeled by the Rockets, and no surviving the PBev experience!

Patrick Beverley – Well, while we’re talking about him!  14/2/3/2/0 with four treys.  Spoiler alert!  Is about to win a Razzball award Saturday morning.  Plus it doesn’t help Jeremy Lin went 11/3/10, a game after racking up 9 dimes.  The Rox PG duties will never be solved!

Donatas Motiejunas – Scored 20 points, but I could care less…

Omer Asik – Another start for Dwight Howard, who sounds a little more banged up than was first let on.  12/5/3/0/4 for Asik, who shockingly went 4-5 FT.  A decent spot start option Saturday if no Dwight again.  Same goes for…

Terrence Jones – …Who while didn’t go as bonkers as earlier in the week, put up a very solid 10/7/4/0/3 line.  I’m not worried about the 23 minutes whilst no Dwight – last night was a beatdown by halftime – but if Dwight is back I’d be very uninterested for Saturday.

Drew Gooden – Welllllll, the fantasy community apparently can time travel!  26 minutes off the bench for 18/9/1/1/0.  I actually picked Gooden for Joe yesterday and painfully admit I picked him up myself.  Has two more games this week – tonight and Sunday – both in big offensive matchups against the Rockets and Knicks.

Damian Lillard – After seeing Isaiah Thomas get a trip-dub, was like, “I’m short and can do it too!”  Well, came a tad, well short, of the trip-dub but got 23/6/10.

Robin Lopez – 8/3/0/0/1 in 30 minutes.  What a terrible player!  Regarding my hate of RoLo, 30% of the time I’m right every time!

Nate Wolters – Broke his hand last night.  Probably in frustration that North Dakota St. pulled an upset (which I picked in all my brackets!), while his rivaling neighbor – and his alma mater – South Dakota St. had to watch.

Ramon Sessions – Was getting the run anyway, but figures to start alongside Brandon Knight with Wolters out.  34 minutes last night for 18/4/2/1/0, and what he does best that no one talks about – high volume FT%.  7-8 last night.  Won’t help you much beyond that and raw Pts, but that’s something!

Draymond Green – Still not spectacular, but multi-cat!  So I’m still #OccupyDraymondGreen!  5/5/3/1/1 and played more minutes than starter Harrison Barnes, who did virtually nothing.  No Andre Iguodala for at least a few more, Draymond is gonna go super rainbow in one of these.

I hope everyone is killing their matchups so far, and gets a big weekend!  And I hope everyone’s brackets remain unbusted, as Teddy is leading our pool with 14!  My “Larry Drew picked my bracket” is just one behind with all Sweet 16 intact!  Have a great weekend with all the basketball that is in store…

I’ve had a 1st round bye this week and am gearing up for the semi-finals next week. With that in mind, would you drop any of the following? (9-cat H2H)

Jarret Jack (4), Khris Middleton (3), DJAug (3), McBob (3)
    FOR
LaMarcus Aldridge (5), Ryan Kelly (4), Gogui Dieng (4), Foye (3)

The obvious name is Aldridge. An owner about to get knocked out of the playoffs dropped him. I can’t blame him. But, this really bothers me because it could throw a huge wrench into the playoffs. I guess he’s not on the can’t cut list anymore. With 5 games next week, it’s a dream to land him, but his health scares me and I don’t have a high waiver claim. I secretly hope my opponent picks him up and the Blazers shut him down for the rest of the regular season (which they should).

@The Glove: Yea I understand why the owner would, but man, I think you have to grab him just to block your opponent from getting him. Losing no sleep dropping McBob. Past that I’m probably holding

Need some assists tonight, and with Jarrett Jack’s lackluster performance last night I’m thinking I might have to stream his spot (suffering a pretty substantial player disadvantage). Would you drop Jack for Foye or Wroten (still not sure what the news on Anderson is), maybe Nash haha. Or would you just sit through being two players down tonight and take Jack’s two games Saturday and Sunday?

    10 team H2H, 2 week playoff

@Jeremy: I’d probably take Jack’s two games, he has the most assists upsides

Gonna replace Kyrie I think. I have the assits, with Augustin, Lilliard, and Teague and passing big men. Do I go Dieng, Sessions, Drew Gooden, or JJ Reddick.

In another league, Gooden, O’Quinn or JV?

And last, I drafted my RCL team last night……..

I’m not thrilled :( What’s your opinion on it? Thanks :D

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Zar: Prob going Sessions, then Gooden over O’Quinn unless you needed blocks. Yeah a lot of guys I’m not huge on :( Andrus Pence Beltran are all fine, but not my cup of tea. I’m really down on Matt Moore and think you need a little more pitching depth, but can be done! Gotta get the hot guys like last years Corbin early

      • Bi-Felicia says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: should have took fliers on Martinez & Ventura over a couple of those guys. Otherwise offense looks fairly solid. Heavy OF depth, you’ll need another base stealer otherwise it’s decent. Especially if cargo stays healthy for one YEAR! Hah

  4. Bren says:

Omg r Kelly back to the bench for the Sacre monster!

Drop Kelly for gooden while I have the chance?? Lol

    Thanks!

      @Bren: j hill possibly back too :(

@Bren: Haha yeah such a mess in Lakers land…. Ummm I think Gooden is safer but Kelly has the upside, so depends on where I was in the week

Twice you’ve give me a shout out. I smell bromance brewing.

I actually couldn’t make an add yesterday. Hesitated, phone died, it happens. I was leaning Gooden per your rec, though also looking at Waiters and Sessions. I still have an eye for talent, woo! But none made it onto my roster, so boo.

I’ve since added Waiters since he was the only available player of any worth whose team plays Saturday (where I had an empty slot that used to belong to a bum called Deng) and Sunday, where I have numerous empty slots. I figure with a full complement going today and tomorrow, I’ll wait until Sunday to see what I need unless something happens in the in-between (like Hill getting mauled by the Bulls tonight).

But Gooden and Sessions are looking mighty attractive.

@Joe: Haha me n Joe sittin in a tree! Yeah man all 3 were awesome. You’re like the Midas touch. All turn to gold! Yeah totally buy Waiters with the two games given a scoring need.

  6. Jake says:

Reggie Jax, Tony Allen, or Wroten for next week?

    • Jake says:
      (link)

      @Jake:

      Or Livingston??

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Jake: I’d go Wroten there, unless you have iffy FT shooting and can’t give up that cat. If you’re going against a Drummond/DJ/Dwight team, I def would Wroten. But otherwsie Liv

      • Jake says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

So hesitant to drop Reggie….he looks like he’s getting back to where he was in Jan/Feb…

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Jake: Yeah I understand the hesitation, weird outliers in FTs and Rebs last night, but also in minutes with it an OT game and he didn’t really shine starting the day before. Probaby putting him above Livingston, still like Wroten more if you can handle the awful FT shooting that is back

Would have been their last year @ KY had they all stayed in school! Dude, how would that have been fair? This would have possibly been the greatest dynasty in college basketball history had they stayed 4 years!

@JB Gilpin: I dropped Livingston, still have 2 moves he used all his and im up 8-4 im in good shape fking into next week I have 10 outta 13 guys with 4 games next week. I’ll drop Gordon if he don’t play tonight for Drumroll Mo Williams maybe? LOL 5 gms next week is kinda hard to overlook

@JB Gilpin: better add, guy dropped demar Carroll so I dropped bad knee Gordo for the counting stat upside

  9. m1chael says:

JB. Would you keep Hickson after he sprained his knee? I’m currently 8-1 my opponent but am worried about next week. Pek isn’t back yet with no time frame. I got Dieng last night for Antic. WW guys available are JHill, Reddick, NYoung, Asik, Mason Plum, Nash, RAllen and Antic(when waiver clears in a couple days). IDK man.. I don’t really need Reddick but do I make the move to keep him away from my opponent? Also if someone else does pick him up who would be my 2nd pick? Could you rate these guys on who you would pick up first?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@m1chael: Yeah I’m not big on Reddick, I doubt he’ll make an impact for your opponent. I like holding Dieng for now, just too much upside. Damn, Mason Plumlee looked great tonight (did highlights for that one). I’m going Dieng (for now), Plumlee, Antic

@JB Gilpin: Where would you put TinaFey from those guys?

@#firelarrydrew: Hmmm him an Antic are close-ish, probably above Antic if you were fine in treys.

Dawg I’m struggling with my playoff plan.. was gonna go with Ross for Jameer but now Ross is uncertain. So I’m thinking Vasquez, but only if Ross is gonna be out or if Jameer gets another DNP. I really want Avery Bradley, but he only plays 3 next week, but if I add him on Tuesday, I think it could work. I don’t want to ruin my ratios and TOs so is there anyone you could think of with 4 games next week like that? Really want JJ Reddick, but again he’s uncertain…Was thinking about Ray Allen too, but he could be rested at any point…Foye is available, but I don’t think I’m winning 3s this week so someone who could help me more elsewhere would be great. Mo Williams is the 5 game guy, but I could see him losing me TOs and FG% for the week. Blocks are a lock next week so don’t need help there. Rebounds could get dicey, but I think I got it. Delladova? Collison? R Kelly and Marshall are there too. This time of year everyone is so iffy…

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@The Tristan Thompson Conundrum: Yeah Bradley looked great in the first half Friday, saw that game. Fizzled in the 2nd. Gooden is prob scooped up, he’s playing well with limited TOs. Mason Plumlee only takes dunks, hits FTs, does get a couple TOs a game though lately… I’m so out on Reddick, Bradley I like for some solid limited upside run

  11. Bi-Felicia says:

I used 14 add drops in one week in a league. Lol now im stuck with r kelly & drew gordon. I might have fked up… Lawson, Pek,Howard,Iggy, And like 3 other injuries on one team so I had no choice really. Im up 5-3 hopefully I advance.
