In case you missed it (and let’s face it, who’s watching Bobcats games?), Kemba Walker had a scary ankle roll Saturday night and will miss 10-14 days.  He’s gonna need a walker for a while after that!  Cricket cricket, cricket cricket.  “That’s not funny JB, it’s just cruel…”  So what if I have Cruel Intentions?!  Now I wanna make out with Selma Blair…  So what if I’m not Sarah MG (I didn’t even want to bother Googling that be sure I had it spelled right…)?!  This is way off the rails…  Back to Walker, he’s a guy that relies on speed and explosiveness, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the full two weeks and even more.  Cue the Ramon Sessions puns!  As a North Carolinian, I guess I am more a Hornets Bobcats fan than any other team, so I may be biased, but I like Sessions and think he can be a decent stream the next two weeks in 12-teamers that need a desperate solid starter.   He’s an emergency Sessions!  Hey that’s the title!  In 38 minutes against the Heat, Ramon went 16/3/5 shooting 6-10 and 4-4 from the stripe.  The 5 TOs are no fun, he does turn the ball over a tad too much, but I think the underrated aspect of his game is he constantly gets to the stripe and shoots good FT%.  He’s at 3.4 makes a game at 79% this year, after being at 83% the previous two seasons.  And last year when he was at 27 minutes a game (22 per thus far in 13-14), he hit 4.8 FTs a game.  He’ll easily get low-to-mid 30 minutes per contest while Walker, Texas Ranger is out, so if you need some scoring, dimes, and that sweet boost of FT shooting in a tough matchup this week or next, or to pad those stats in roto, Sessions is in sess… Eh, well you get it… Here’s what else I saw over the weekend in fantasy basketball:

Ryan Kelly - Razzball TMZ!  Kelly spotted holding hands with Slim after a Lakers game in a prominent Los Angeles night club.  “Ryan, Ryan, how do you avoid getting tickled by Slim’s ferocious beard when you guys are making out?!” I queried.  Kelly threw a Duke Speedo at me.  So while that lawsuit is in litigation, he’s played 30+ minutes a game the past three with a 20/4 game and 17/5 outing last night.  As you all know, I’m Carolina blue, and hate the Dookies.  I just don’t think he’s that good.  But hey, 6-6 FT the past two games, but I’d still rather Sessions right now.  I hate Doh-Toni.  Who knows what srubby F he’s going to give 35 minutes a night to next.  Ryan Kelly gets 37 minutes to Jordan Hill‘s 11 last night?!  Who do you think is the better NBA player Razzball (Slim don’t answer)?

Brandon Knight - Here’s the guy I would make out with!  Wow, three straight players and making out used in all three.  Perfect inning!  20+ Pts and multi-threes in three straight.  Rebounds and Assists not trending the right way though.  Don’t you turn into a ThrAGNOF on me, Brandon, after all we’ve been through!  Still has great upside in those cats though, especially if Larry Drew can figure out he needs to never use Luke Ridnour again…  Ridnour did sprain his wrist, so there’s hope Knight can get back to the diming ways.

Channing Frye - Career-high 30 Pts.  5 treys and 3 blocks.  Yeah that’s pretty good.  I guess I have to start turning the corner there…  It used to be the only Channing in my life was Tatum…

Kenneth Faried - Manimal is caught in a Shaw trap.  His minutes the last three have been 17, 21, 13.  He had been playing in the 30 minute range just fine after Shaw said he “solidified his rotations” (what I called the Shaw-shank redemption), then Faried gets low run and all the sudden after winning 5 straight they’ve dropped three of the last 4.  Now Shaw said Manimal was sick, as in – had an illness not playing well – but man, frustrating…

Evan Fournier - The Virgin!  Got a start and went 17/4/1 with trois treys in quatre attempts.  If only someone told you to get him in the second half months ago!  Randy Foye did sit this one out after eating some bad sushi, but I like Fournier for the stretch run.

Isaiah Thomas - 38/6 last night.  Loving it from the Pizza Guy!

Jerryd Bayless - Stubbed his toe… JB is playing his way out of Boston… Going the same arc as my NBA career… Opens the door for Phil Pressey to keep getting decent minutes, as Rajon Rondo is still on a minutes restriction.  Pressey is a solid very-deep league add for cheap dimes.

Kelly Olynyk - Had a huge Friday, you could even say a Good Friday, for 25/5/7/2/1 in 33 minutes to only 17 minutes of 9/5/2/1/0 last night.  Brad Stevens is a buttface.

Jared Sullinger - Hasn’t been awful, but not the same since the Goromotaro.  At least he’s still getting about 30 minutes a game.  Still like-a-da Jake Sully.  I would so plug my braid into that.

Kyle O’Quinn - 10/9/1/1/1 yesterday shooting 4-6.  Every Magic game I watch I always like his motor, which is the nice way of saying he’s small for a PF/C, but had 3 blocks in each of his previous two games before yesterday and is worth a look in deep leaguers.  I am crossing my fingers that he’s who I end up with in REL across a few bids.  Nikola Vucevic will obviously hurt his value when he’s back, but Vuc is thus far without a timetable.

Patrick Patterson - After I endorsed him last week he had a clunker, then 11/5/1 with a trey Friday followed by 17/7/1/1/1 with two treys yesterday shooting 7-12.  Only owned in 13% of Yahoo leagues is too few.  It helps Pit Pat out that John Salmons is getting back spasms if the Raptors ever want to play Pit Pat as a big 3.

Terrence Jones - Holy Hakeem Olajuwon!  An unreal 36/11/1/1/2 game Saturday night with a trey.  About 2 months ago I feel like I gave Jones as a waiver answer frequently, so hopefully Razzball Nation is killin’ it with TJ teams!

Devin Harris - Pick up of the day!!!!  Haha, I jest, but 18 minutes going 6/2 and could have some marginal value in the deepest of leagues for a guy who is probably out there everywhere.  He was available in REL, but I had my bids elsewhere.

Tyreke Evans - Back from yet another ankle sprain, and we can only hope they hold up because he’ll probably get a lot of rock while Jrue Holiday is out.  14/4/2 in a whopping 31 minutes in his return, and a big buy low if you can get him… A big – albeit risky – one…

Brian Roberts - 35 minutes on Saturday for 9/3/5/0/0.  Feels good that I get some things right, being unbullish on this one.  Bearish?  Wait, I didn’t like him, is that a Bull or a Bear?  I may have a business degree, but it’s in Marketing!  I like Sessions as the guy to own right now, as an example of an asset swap.

Andrew Bogut - I somehow only have Bogut on one team after liking him a lot heading into the year…  10/15/2/0/5 in another game that will probably go down-under-the-radar.

Ricky Rubio - I’ve seen a ton of low-ball trade offers in the comments of people thinking of selling Rubio.  I know the single-digit scoring in 7 straight blows, but he’s boarding, diming, and has hit treys in four of five.  No way I’m selling for a huge discount.  Hopefully you didn’t draft him hoping for a 17 PPG scorer and you should be fine.

Dewayne Dedmon - 7/7 with a block and 8/7 with a block on Friday and Saturday.  The 7 footer picked up from the D-League I think has great upside as the Sixers continue to be tankers.  Worth a shot in 16-teamers and deeper.

Jason Smith - Knee surgery for the NBA’s favorite witness protection player.  Gives Greg Stiemsma some “starts”, but only played 13 minutes in his “start” as the Pelicans went with Alexis Ajinca and Jeff Withey as scrubby C options when Anthony Davis isn’t the 5.  Not at all interested in any-a-dat.

Marquis Teague - I just have a soft spot for his upside in a few years.  Traded to the Nets as reported, although not finalized.  Fantastic situation for him for very deep dynasty owners.  I think he’ll be the #2 PG there by next year (Shaun Livingston is only signed through this year and Deron Williams can’t stay healthy, so Teague has starter upside) and can learn a lot from Jason Kidd.  I’ll be throwing a $1 at him later in the REL season to stash for next year.  Of course, that’s hoping no one from the REL is reading this far down…

Andray Blatche vs. Tristan Thompson - While Blatche went off in his only game last week for 20/14/6/1/1, TT went 20/10/0/1/2 in his only game since Wednesday, shooting 8-9 from the field.  Consistency beats the terrible-then-outlier big game!  We’ll see how Slim is feeling about our bet after this week.

Next Game - First off, be sure to set your line-ups this morning!  Games start as early as 1:00 AM on MLK holiday, so hopefully you’re off work and ready to watch hoops all day.  TNT Overtime is back tonight and I’m making your highlight markers!  So check out my highlights during the POR @ HOU game, then I’m back to Yahoo highlights for IND @ GSW.  About the best two games you could hope for in one night.  I hope everyone won their matchups last week, had a great weekend, and kills it in week 13!

Sup JB. My god your cruel intentions get me laughin! TMZ too ha

What say you about me trading my AD /Love and oladipo FOR Dwight, Wall and kawhi/West? Cheers

    • Lasandro says:
      (link)

@JB Gilpin: to clarify, Love and Oladipo OR AD and Oladipo for Wall, Dwight and either Kawhi, or D West, or A Bradley. So a 2 for 3 trade from me.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Lasandro: Haha thanks man! Man getting Dwight Wall Kawhi is a big haul… Remind me your league settings, standard? Very close deal

      • Lasandro says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: extremely shallow as it’s a league with just my Bball squad – 8 team H2H, 14 cat. My team:

        Love
        AD
        Sully
        Nene
        T Jones
        Vuc (still inj)
        Pierce
        Parsons
        Afflalo
        Oladipo
        Meeks
        Nelson

Thoughts? And if I pull the trigger I’d prob drop Meeks or Pierce, as I need Jameer’s dimes.

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Lasandro: Dwight’s FT% is gonna hurt, but in 14 cat it minimizes that hit vs. like 9 cat. Man I’m so on the fence on this one, think AD/Love are best player and really like Oladipo for the 2nd half. Think it’s 50/50 I’d go for who you like to root on more :)

          • Lasandro says:
            (link)

@JB Gilpin: well if we’re talkin straight root value (ha!), I’m taking Love and or AD any day! Appreciate the input

              • Lasandro says:
                (link)

@JB Gilpin: yes yes, I realise you already told me to hold.. But I’ve been thinking. Looking at my squad above, would you think that dropping Love and Oladipo (then maybe Pierce, to accommodate the new player) for Wall, Dwight and Kawhi would benefit my team overall? I’ve been looking at positional rankings for each player in my 14 cat L and it reads Dwight (3), Wall (6), Kawhi (10) for my Love (1) and Oladipo (24). Surely kawhi and victor have somewhat similarly intriguing ROS values, yes? If you still think I should hold, that’s fine. Just wanted to lay it out on the table, numbers wise. Seriously appreciate it

                  JB Gilpin says:
                  (link)

@Lasandro: Yeah I just think Oladipo has good ROS upside too, and that 1 next to Love is a deciding factor. I don’t think I’d do the Blake one either

              • Lasandro says:
                (link)

@JB Gilpin: other offer I’ve recieved for love is Blake and either Pau, Deng or Rudy

  2. I trade unibrow and filler ( Marco/ or Greek freak) for Wall and Noah. Good?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Derrick Yu: Close one, love me some Davis, but yeah I think I’d have to do that, Noah is playing great

  3. Also, is it a good time to sell T. Jones or should I hold and see how things go? If sell, what player should I be thinking of getting? DeRozan? Conley? Dragic?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Derrick Yu: If you could get either Conley or Dragic for him that’d be huge. I don’t know how much people would be willing to give you, but anyone in that range would be huge. DeRozan would be close, that one would depend on needs.

      • @JB Gilpin:

I offered jones for Conley. Got countered with jones and Bledsoe for Conley and Tobias.

Not sure on Tobias, so he also has lance , Thad young and kawhi. I’m thinking kawhi and Conley?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Derrick Yu: Wow, yeah I mean if you can get it great, but a hurt Bledsoe and Jones for Conley and Tobias is money to me. Kawhi is a solid buy too. If it gets rejected I’d still take the first one

Is Steve Blake worth a stash in a 14 team h2h 9 category dynasty league over keeping Nate Robinson?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Craig: Tough one, because when Blake is back, if his elbow is jacked and he can’t shoot he’s gonna do nothing. If you’re 1st or 2nd place probably, but if not I would just hold Robinson for the production right now, even if it is 3s/Pts only

  7. Ltee says:
    (link)

Sup jb! So here’s the update! I started 9th place when we last spoke last week. I’m still in 9th place but I did defeat the first place in the league. 5-3-1. Coulda won more if foye Faried illyasova and shumpert played well! Not to me time jjohnson only played 1 game that week. So I dropped shumpert for Webster already. My current team.

    Rubio lilliard foye augustin
    Ross alphabet jjohnson illyasova Webster
    Faried boozer ibaka griffin

On the wire: Patterson Kelly Tristan Thompson beverly himrich

I’m currently winning and have a shot to win just 5 cats with fg ft 3ptm steals turnover and possible blocks

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Ltee: Nice! I think Patterson might help you in FG/3s/Blks a tad. Don’t know who to drop though, maybe Foye if he stays sick. Ilyasova I would drop for Patterson too, even though I know he could get hot. But man, he’s been brutal more often than not

Also, should I offer Rubio for Lowry?

        @JB Gilpin:
Thanks. I’ll leave Ersan sitting there unless he goes on a hot streak.

Love ur Mike Scott for his upside and apparent knack for scoring the basketball. Think I was justified in dumping the quickly dissapearing Harrison Barnes for him? Barnes is still laying unclaimed two days later, but still, the 45 to 0.6 pecent ownership differential has me posting for reassurance.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Li: Yeah I buy that. Barnes only has one decent game in the past 6, and even if Iggy got hurt, Barnes wouldn’t be a lock to produce in the starting line-up. Scott has upside too, nice move!

In my 14 team h2h keeper league I was offered chalmers lance and 1st rnd pick(really 6th rnd once keepers are set) for teague and webster and my 5th pick(10th rnd after keepers). Teague has been frustrating to own ever since horford got hurt. Do I consider this? Team is below.

    14 team h2h keeper

    pg damian lillard
    g martel webster
    sg james harden
    sf kevin durant
    f john henson
    pf derrek favors
    c al jefferson
    c demarcus cousins
    util channing frye

@Ryan: I loved Teague heading into the year, looked great, then man, downhill! Yeah since Teague is not looking like a keeper for you, I jump at that deal. Loving what Lance is doing, Chalmers is having a career year before hurt and should be fine, plus a solid draft pick.

@740: Eh i don’t think I’d want to sell AD for any group of that, he’s so far ahead of the other guys in the deal. I still like Rubio, but if that owner is willing to move him, I’d try for lower price than the Brow. Of those three I think I’d take the chance on Tobias’ upside if you like the deal

@<JB Glipin: Prematurely blew my wad on that one. He's only interested in a 1 for 1 trade if AD is concerned. Worth getting either PG or DMC for him? Or best to keep him and try and milk a 2 for 1 for my K Love, who this guy covets a lil higher than AD?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Lasandro: Interesting that he likes Love so much more. I mean, he’s doing great but I love AD. George for AD if it fits your needs would be nice though. DMC is a little too risky for me for AD 1-for-1

      • Lasandro says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Thanks man. ugh, its all too damn close and AD is my defensive anchor really.. if this guy gave me PG and a defensive filler, I’d prob consider it but he values the brow a little too low. Thoughts on my K love for Blake and Pau or Rudy?

        • Lasandro says:

    hey JB ,

I honestly don’t know what to do with the Kenneth Faried man dropping him doesn’t seem right, keeping him and he has been on this cyclical swings. It’s quite frustrating, at least owning Joe Johnson, ya know that he could somehow single handedly make up his poor performance in just one week of play.

Before i asked if I should package him and trey burke for Bosh and it didn’t seem like a good idea cuz I am quite close with my competition and he is short on PG. should i look for a different trade package ? you think trading away burke will be bad idea, even if i have lawson and conley ?

What do you think of Terence Jones upside going forward? Should I look to sell him high or stay put he is actually making up for the loss in manimal’s production and greater.

In a way I think I should stay put also due to my team chemistry seems pretty good. As you can see I am quite frustrated with all theese questions. Thanks for your advice and time I appreciate it.

Mike Conley / Ty Lawson / Trey Burke
Gordon Hayward / Evan turner / Joe Johnson / Derozan
Tobias Harris / Terence Jones / Kenneth Faried
Andrew Bogut / Al Jefferson / Derrick Favors / Zach Randolph /

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Michael Pan: I was just hesitant on giving Burke to that specific team. So if other owners are interested further down the standings/that have more PG depth anyway, it’d be worth a look. I’d probably stand pat on Jones. I think he’ll be solid the rest of the way. Haha don’t be too frustrated man, fantasy sports is rarely non-frustrating! I honestly don’t think anyone but Faried is a sell right now on your team. So I think you can probably wait out another game or two, then stream as you need at the end of the week to wrap up the matchup, or you’ll feel better about Faried by then. Any time!

What’s up with your boy Teague? He hasn’t been doing shit for a couple of weeks now. Tonight his line is 2pts 6 A nothing else! Frustrating im thinking about dropping him for Felton. Ugh, can’t believe I just said that

@matt: Good question… Playing awful since Horford went down, I actually thought about losing him in one league too but think he’s a must-hold. Got benched and shot is still cold but yea, try to ride it out with me!

@JB Gilpin: im hanging cuz my team is still going 7-1 every week. 2 gorots tonight with dre and Zach. My squad is absolute beastmode right now. Only cat I lose is ft% (punt with dre and howard) Hopefully he gets it together soon though. There’s another couple teams coming out the other conference that are really strong come playoff time.

@JB Gilpin: Howard & P Bev played really well tonight. Who’s that New guy that started for jones on the rockets? He’s decent..they have a deep bench.

@matt: Donatas Motiejunas, played a little early in the year, then was out of the rotation, then asked for a trade, and now they’re playing him a lot. He’s like Asik, but shoots threes and actually played decent haha

            (link)

@JB Gilpin: I think I need to keep an eye on him if he gets mins could be a decent Hawes type big if he gets the mins

So, followup question from several days ago… I don’t have enough ego to think you would remember, but I asked about trading Henson for nowitzki in dynasty league. I pulled the trigger and am now considering offers to be rid of dirk. Sent an offer for it2, and probably could trade dirk for Jonas. Either of these good moves, or just stand pat and try to win a title this year with the team I have. Thanks for the input and at least I got on more 20/10 with a block game out of the muppet.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Tim: Haha I remember that one! I still like the trade as a win now, or if you indeed flip Dirk for IT2 that would be huge. I think I like the JV move, but man, so rough this year. He is still very young though. I would be fine offering Dirk for IT2, I think I’d hold Dirk with the allure of going for it this year in the other

Holding down 1st in my legue so far thanks to Lebron, Unibrow, and Gasol. Is it worth it to drop either Tyson chandler or Jonas Valencionus for Blatche in a 12 team h2h? Jonas is maddening to own but so tantalizing…and Andray is getting some good burn in Brooklyn with Lopez out. I don’t know if it’s just a lateral move though. Any thoughts?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Sange76: I’m not a huge Blatche fan, but indeed two straight good games. I think he’ll be frustrating to own as well ROS. I think I’d wait one more game, and if it’s a good one, add him for JV if another clunker form him.

    9-cat H2H league
Somebody offered me Brandon Jennings for my Rajon Rondo. Should I take it? I’m already getting killed in FG% and TO every week thanks to Terrence Ross, Glen Davis, Victor Oladipo, etc. I could use a boost in 3pts and Stls.

    • Daniel Bryan says:
      (link)

@Daniel Bryan: P.S. Great call on Sessions man. I added him on one of my leagues. Thanks JB!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Daniel Bryan: Yeah I think I’d do that one for safety and seems to fit your needs very well. Rondo won’t hit 3s and won’t play huge minutes, at least still for a while. Thanks man on Sessions! 10-11 FT he is a FT% booster if there ever was one!

Hey JB. would you trade dwight howard for someone else’ joe johnson? I was also looking at trading for jeff teague. what do you think? thanks in advance?

    currently i have:
lowry, kobe, wall, mo williams, tyreke evans, redick, chalmers, oladipo, burke
AD, robin lopez, favors, and dwight.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Kevin: Nah Johnson is playing great, but he’s bound to regress, I’d hold Howard. I like going for Teague as a buy low too, But I still would hold Howard 1-for-1. What about Kobe for Teague? Might work and I think would be a great buy low and minimize injury risk

Would you deal Rubio and favors for Ty Lawson? More trade talk for you JB drop some wisdom for me!

    • JB Gilpin

@Yokev_o: Haha, I actually kinda like that one! Do you have enough big men to make up for Favors/winning big men stats pretty well most weeks? If you answered yes to the above question, you may be eligible for JB’s endorsement of that deal!

      • yokev_o says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: I currently have vucevic, david lee, henson, al jeff, amir, and mcroberts on my squad. Would this deal be JB endorsed?

@yokev_o: Yeah I like Vuc to come back and love getting the best guy in the deal, I go for it!

How do u punch someone who keeps stalking the waiver wire making sure you cant get a decent PG when ones dropped? This dude is hilarious he has no limit on guard ownership in the league he created. It’s starting to piss me off!
