That title is pathetic. But so am I, juggling Christmas shopping, and my obligation to the Razzball faithful. This Article will be the equivalent of giving everyone on my list 25 dollar home depot gift cards as Christmas gifts, you’ll smile uncomfortably, and mutter “thanks, you shouldn’t have.”, or some such apathetic reply after finishing it. One day I’m gonna have the balls to prank my wife with that move, and see how long she can keep “the spirit of the season is to give, not receive” farce going before I get whacked with a candlestick. But it was no prank to see Kemba Walker ice the Raptors in OT, one night after Damian Lillard did the same thing to the Cavs. These young guns sure are fun to watch (sorry Javaris, too soon?), and even more fun if they’re on your fantasy team! let’s take a look at the some of the other pistols in the arsenal:

Buy:

Beno Udrih, PG

Bubbly, bubbly, bubbly Eno!  Most of you are too young to remember that commercial, ran in the 80’s, but it fit too well not to reference. A surefire stomach relief, though, for those of you desperate for PG help. In Knickerbocker-land, he is the last PG standing, and is only owned in 6% of leagues right now. He got 21/4/5/2/0 with 5 3pts and 1 turnover. It’s only one game, but that is impressive. Go ahead. It’s Christmas, treat yourself.

Brandan Wright PF, C

Wright starting off the blocks with a bang, scoring 19/6/1/0/0, but he’s a giant, so he can’t sprint, and in his next game, he only got 4/2/0/0/3. 19 points isn’t something one should expect from him, but the healthy serving of blocks is a delight. He won’t hurt your percentages, and he only got 32 minutes over 2 games, that’s sure to increase. And 24% owned, so have a block party!

Xavier Henry SG

It is doom and gloom in Laker land. Kobe Bryant out for 6 weeks, Steve Nash out for at least a month, Steve Blake out indefinitely, and Jordan Farmar out for at least another week. This all translates to Xavier getting the start at point in the short term. A speculative add here might be interesting.

Wesley Johnson SG, SF

Kobe’s gone, we covered that, which means more minutes. He has looked good already this year in spurts, another cat to watch.

Sell:

Kemba Walker PG

I actually like what he’s doing right now, which is why if you’re thinking of making a move, I can’t see a time when his value will be higher. He was a straight assassin against the Raptors, and has a great run of a few games, so include him in an offer for Lillard, or even CP3.

Kobe Bryant SG

I don’t know what you’re gonna get for him, but if you’re like me, I can’t stomach holding him for another 6 weeks, to only have him come back rusty. Again. I may even drop him. Mamba. You used to be so beautiful, what happened?

That’s all I have time for, boys and girls. For those of you who celebrate, Have a very Merry Christmas! And for you other lot, enjoy the downtime. Take in a movie, maybe? That Keanu samurai one looks dope.

Holla!

@Jimmy: Both Harden and Martin are a bit banged up, but playing through it. Who would you be dropping to make room for Martin. I’m a big Batum fan, BTW.
All in all, it’s a fair offer. IMO

@guidedbyvoices: Not sure I would do that straight up, you’re giving too much. Lee has been a double double machine. Just my opinion. I would offer Lee and a piece for Lillard, although Damian’s owner may not want to trade him, he’s killing it

@The Fantasy Dick: I would give knight and turner for just kyrie, sanders a bonus.
I would also do turner and knight for curry, so whichever appeals to you more.
If it were me, I’d do the first.

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:

@Kevin: I don’t really like that trade, Kyle is straight murder these days, and Deron is a big injury risk. How about big for big, Like Dwight for Henson?

  12. Dreadz says:
    (link)

Hey Dan, doing a h2h 16 team dynasty draft later this tonight. I’ve never played h2h, or dynasty (been strictly roto/redraft), so I’m wondering who might be good to target in the early rounds, that might not have an early round target otherwise (Drummond, etc)? I’m just not sure how much more I should expect to reach based on potential as opposed to their current situation. For example: Is a guy like Oladipo a 3-4th rounder in a dynasty league, or would that be reaching? Sorry if that’s a bit much, just afraid of having a bad draft and being stuck with it, lol. Thanks!

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Dreadz: People often make the mistake of forgoing trying to win right now in dynasty for the long term, by placing too much stock in rookies. Planning is important, but don’t always think of the future. For example, you mention Oladipo as a 3rd rounder. If a guy like Demar Derosan is still there, take him first. My point is teams often reach for rooks in the 3rd or 4th round, when a guy like Batum, Lillard, Derosan, Amir Johnson, Henson, Kyrie, etc are all going to have long careers. Basically, just avoid guys like Timmy D, Parker, Wade, Kobe, Pau, etc, that will drop off imminently.
head to head not really that different than roto, so don’t sweat it.
And if you don’t get any rookies from this draft class, don’t sweat it, but if you do, target MKW or Oldipo A mid-to-late round stash would be Nerlans Noel, he may be overlooked.
      good luck!

guy in my league has been hounding me for the last 24 hours trying to get my Aldridge or my Wall…I’m not keen on trading them but if it makes sense i would…best offer right now is my LMA for his Ryan Anderson & Sullinger.

    12 tm h2h 8 cat -daily lineup…my team now:

    aldridge
    wall
    a.davis
    hayward
    favors
    JV
    l.stephenson
    faried
    dunleavy
    p.beverly
    r.jackson
    j.leuer
    alphabet
    teletovic
    deng/nash (both on IR)

i think i should do it – but need another opinion

    • Matthew says:
      (link)

@mindicohn: I just traded a Rubio JV and Brewer for LA. You’d be getting robbed. Sullinger is nice, I own him in a league and RA is good too, but way to little for him. I even think I owned that trade and I still have up Rubio and JV.

My hickson and stevenson for dragic
    16 man h2h league standard

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Rixo13: Sure. You can always recoup some of those stats with theguy you pick up off the waiver.

  16. teeque says:
    (link)

Dan, I sold Kemba and included Ryan Anderson for Kyrie and Tyson chandler. What do you think of that trade?

With the same guy in another league I bought his Kyrie and Sold Lowry and Dragic.

How do you feel about these trade? Would you rate one better than the other?

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@teeque: I like the Kyrie/Tyson trade better. Steep price with the second trade, I hope there is some quality on the waiver, it would reduce the sting. Still you got the best player in the trade in both cases, and usually that means you won.

  17. Steve Stevenson says:
    (link)

James Johnson and Ed Davis both started for the Grizz tonight. Is it the end of the line for both Leuer and Koufos?

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Steve Stevenson: No, but this might affect everyone’s fantasy value, if they go with committee. But James Johnson is matchup specific, he’s a 3/4 tweener.

  18. JB says:
    (link)

Just was offered iguodola for Zachary Randolph who wins that trade.?

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@JB: I think Iggy is better at this point, but not good enough to do that deal straight up. Randolph is clearly worht more than what Iggy is doing right now, I wouldn’t do that deal.

  19. Chinoy says:
    (link)

Would you drop Enes Kanter for Khris Middleton?

I can’t believe I just found this site a week ago. I’m now a daily reader. Keep up the awesome work guys! :)

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Chinoy: Yes, I don’t know why, but Kanter is a disaster right now. Check for Henson first, unlikely he’s there, but the better Buck to own.

      • Chinoy says:
        (link)

        @Dan A.:

Already picked up Henson a few weeks back. Thanks man. :D

  20. Chinoy says:
    (link)

Another question, got offered Kyle Korver for my Kobe Bryant. Do I take it?

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Chinoy: I would, unless you have an IR spot to stash Mamba. He will be gone for another 5 weeks, and even then, he will be rusty for the first 1-2 weeks, which takes us 3/4 of the fantasy season. Full disclosure, I’m really fed up with holding Kobe, so I’m biased.

  21. asd says:

  22. Shaqtin'ACoon says:

Given equal needs, who would you rather own out of this bunch? (which can most likely duplicate/retain their success for ROS?)

A.Brooks, DJ Augustin, Caron Butler, Middleton, N. Young,Terrence Ross, Reggie Jackson

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Shaqtin’ACoon: Aaron Brooks has high value right now because of Pbev going down, and Lin still out. He will get mad play. Dj is in the same situation, so whomever you prefer.

  23. Frank White says:
    (link)

Sup Brotha… I think I’m gonna cut ties with OJ Mayo and there’s a couple guys I wanted to through out to see if they’re good replacements. Since I got Bledsoe and let go of Hayward I know I’m losing some boards so I was kinda looking for a sg-sf or a sf so I saw Caron Butler or Matt Barnes (LAC). These other guys are PG’s but look good too. DJ Augustin or Aaron Brooks, since Beverley is gone and Lin being sidelined. Anyway do any of these guys jump at you that are better then Mayo?? I like Caron Butler but don’t know anything about him. Thanks bud!!

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Frank White:I would take Aaron Brooks. More scoring touch, and he will get a lot of minutes now.

      • Frank White says:
        (link)

Thanks.. Is he gonna give me some boards or was Butler’s one game back with 11 boards a fluke??

        • Frank White says:
          (link)

Sorry I meant is Brooks gonna help me with boards cause Butler had the points and boards but I didn’t know if it was just a lucky game? My bad if you think I’m a pain

          • Dan A

            Dan A. says:
            (link)

@Frank White: I just read that Lin was gonna try to be back monday or wednesday. Brooks still a good get, but if you haven’t made a move yet, try DJ Augustin. And yes, don’t expect high boards from any point guard not named Rondo.

            • Frank White says:
              (link)

Lol thanks.. Yeah I already grabbed Brooks but it don’t matter cause Monday I got all my guys going so he probly won’t play anyway but I can always switch If I need to.. The good thing is that Brooks got 5 games next week

              • Dan A

                Dan A. says:
                (link)

@Frank White: hey frank, in case Reggie Jackson is available in your league, Russ Westbrook was just announced to have undergone a knee surgery. Pick up Reggie if you can, he will be the pg for until at least the all star break.

  24. Shaqtin'ACoon says:
    (link)

I have a surplus of point guards with Curry, Wall, IT2, Burke, and newly picked up Augustin. My bigs arent nearly as solid, with Pau, Favors, Hibbert, Hawes, Amir. Needless to say my boards aren’t up there. Neither are blocks with Hibbert cooling of significantly.

Who do you think would make a good target for a 2for1? I’m thinking of maybe Al Horford or Al Jefferson. Would love to have the Brow but I’d rather target a cheaper option instead.

Would like your expert opinion :)

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Shaqtin’ACoon: al Jeff is not a block option, FYI. I would try for horford, or reconsider getting AD, if I were you.
Curry and Amir might be a good offer for Anthony Davis.
If you still want horford, I would offer, say, IT2 and Pau?

  25. Bon says:
    (link)

    Hey!
Brewer has been doing horribly this past two weeks+? i was wondering if its time to cut him for another player such as danny granger or AK47, maybe even JR smith. I had brewer for his stats like stls and little pts and boards. What do you think about the rookie from bucks nicknamed alphabet.
    Thanks

    • Dan A

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Aj: I think you have to do that deal, although Batum a more multiple tool dude, and DMc not really gonna ever threaten for a triple double like the Frenchman. Still, what he does do is so dominant, like I said, you gotta do it.
      Anyone disagree?

      • AJ says:
        (link)

@Dan A.: so this cat got cold feet and ended up staying with Cousins, now eyeing kevin love, you think Batum/West is a good offer?

Hey Dan, I’m in a 10 team league and I know Pierce has been doing good but on the Yahoo notes it’s saying to drop him unless in standard leagues cause off the bench role will make him inconsistent. Do you agree?? If so would you go with Jordan Farmar??

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Frank White: it’s a sad day when the Truth is coming off the bench, but at this point, it is what it is. Pierce just isn’t what he once was. He has had two fantastic games, then follows it up with a goose egg. I know he was ejected, but he was 0-7 before that. He will be inconsistent, but I would take a flyer on him. Unless you need assists/steals, the pg stats, then Farmar is a good get

      • Frank White says:
        (link)

Thnx.. Sorry but what does it mean when you say take a flyer on him??

        • Frank White says:

  37. Frank White says:
    (link)

Hey buddy I hope you had a Merry Christmas!! Who would you rather have on your team right now, Terrence Jones or Taj Gibson?? Oh also, When they say standard formats, what does that mean cause I’m in a 10 team CAT and I didn’t know if that was standard?

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Frank White: Merry Christmas to you as well, Frank. Sorry to flip flop, but it’s hard to say. Normally, I think I would prefer Jones, he has been more consistent than Taj, but then Gibson has been producing much better over the last 4 games.
Maybe go with Taj to start, or mabe take both, and drop Pierce, he has gone 1-15 in his last two games.

  38. Sam smith says:
    (link)

    Should I do this trade?

I give up love and Monroe

I get Jefferson, Bledsoe and Deng

    Thanks in advance.

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Sam smith: you are giving up an extremely good fantasy player in love, and Monroe is no slouch either, and while the pieces coming back are all good, I wouldn’t do that deal. Just me, I feel that jefe for Monroe is a wash, essentially, so it’s love for debt and Bledsoe. I would want more.

Wut up, this cat keeps trying for my curry and now he’s offering up Lebron, who you rather have curry or Lebron? If i do offer something up I was thinking something like Curry/Robin for James/Pau thoughts? Thanks

Yo Dan Wutup… I talked to Pete and he helped me out with my question and I just wanted to get your opinion too.. Would you hold onto Henson after being out for these 3 games and Yahoo saying the coach said he would be sidelined for 2 weeks and has to work his way back into the rotation?? I’m not underminding Pete but yOu guys know I ask a couple guys to get different opinions. Mad respect Pete!!

@Frank White: I feel like Henson has solidified himself as a regular rotation must own player. Who would you pick up if you dropped him. Frank, I have told you many times that you are too impatient. If he was gonna be out for 8+ weeks, maybe you drop him, but 2? He gets mad blocks and steals, boards and some points. Ride it out.

You’re right about that. I aint mad at ya!! My wife tells me I’m inpatient everyday.. Lol. Man I hope Bledsoe isn’t hurt. With Marc Gasol coming back in a week someone else gets hurt. I haven’t had a full lineup since week 1. The good news is that I’m still in 1st place. Yo during the draft something was messed up with my computer and in the 2nd round I picked up Aldridge and it gave me the next player ( marc Gasol) then later on I dragged over Klay Thompson and it gave me West. My team would’ve been so sick!!

Happy New Year Danny!!! Yo I’m not sure but I thought You were a old school hip hop guy right..? Well I downloaded, Beats, Rymes & Life – The Travels Of A Tribe Called Quest, It’s a Documentary movie made by Michael Rapaport and the shit is ill.. Check it out if your a fan and haven’t seen it. Anyway, I don’t know you have David West in any of your leagues but he’s gotta be the most disappointing high mid round pickup. You agree?? I wouldn’t do it but there’s guys on my wire that are better then him. Sorry I just had to put it out there. Lol

Oh I forgot.. I know I’m holding Henson but Ersan IIyasova had a good game but if he continues to keep up with good games do you think Larry Drew is going to have him eat up Henson’s minutes when Henson gets back?? It always seems that Larry Drew treats Henson like he don’t like him

Just adding IIlysova is on the wire too

@Frank White: Hey dude. A very Happy New Year to you and your family. I hope this year will be a great one for you. Yes, I have seen the Doc, it was dope. It was cool to see how many hip hop acts came out of that one high school.
I feel you on the D West front. This year, he is one of those “good in real life” players, but with little impact in fantasy. He alters shots on D, not a category stat, and stretches the floor for his offence, another act that means nothing in fantasy. Who are you thinking of dropping him for? It might make sense. Is there no trade out there? Maybe you need to drop your asking price. Shoot for a wing player, or include him in a larger deal.

Hope you have a great year too and yeah hopefully I’ll be able to lose my walker and therapy can bring me to a cane! I’m scared to drop him. I’ll be patient now. Lol. How do you feel about the Henson question with iilysova playing well. You think Larry Drew will keep him over Henson and have Henson ride the bench?? If so I listed 2 guys if you like them better or still be patient??

    • Dan A

@Frank White: try to be patient. Even off the bench, Henson is worth owning. And while ersan is playing well now, there’s no guarantee that he can keep this up.

Hey I’m not trying to squeeze another answer out of you but when I look at Hickson’s stats it seems like he puts up the same or sometimes better then Henson.. You agree??

@Frank White: my man. You can always ask. If you feel like I’ve barked at you in the past, I want you to know this is what we are here for, and I welcome the questions. It’s the: “are you sure you’re sure?” questions that I break your balls about, just roll with it, like you have been. If Hickson is on your waiver, you should definitely scoop him. I don’t know if Henson would be the drop though. I might even consider dropping West over John, if you can’t move West. As to having similar stats, true, JJ puts up good to great stats, but Henson is a swat specialist , more so than JJ.
