Don't be shellfish...Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+

It’s the time of crazed shopping for discounted electronics. The argument: “At that price, I couldn’t afford NOT to get it!” will be heard all around the country over Turkey leftovers this weekend. I give to you the Buy/Sell shortened holiday edition, free packaging, 70% off, this weekend only! And with that in mind, here are a few guys you can’t afford not to get:

Buy:

Jordan Farmar PG

You got up late, you’re one of the last to the mall, cursing the excessive turkey and alcohol consumption, and you’re scrambling for points, treys, steals and the odd assist. Well, the basketball gods are smiling on you, because although he’s one of the last in the sales bin, Jordan Farmar is still there for you. In the last 2 games, he has hit 8 3pts, with almost 5 dimes per game. He’s only owned 9% of leagues. It’s not a perfect choice, but that’s what you get when you sleep in, mutton-head!

Nick Young SG

“But Dan, I need a Laker, but I ain’t got time for dimes, rebounds, assists or blocks!”, you say. Easy there, cupcake, I got you. Young shoots. That’s it, anything else you get is gravy. Get it? Turkey Day?? Gravy? Bah hahahaha… sorry, I’ve already started drinking. So if you need 3pts, shooting %, or points, that’s what you get. He scored 26 points, along with a board, a dime, a swat, and a steal, with 4 3’s. In the last 5 games he’s scored 18 points per, 2.5 3pts, and shot for a good percentage for a volume guy, at 46.3%. And his nickname is Swaggy. Seriously, I swear to god, it makes him sound like he should be in a Bieber boy band. The douche is strong with this one, but he’s only owned in like 20% of leagues, so take the good with the bad.

Andray Blatche PF, C

Let me first say, that while I disliked putting Nick Young up in my article, I am absolutely disgusted that I’m including Blatche. He is a douche of the highest order, if not king, than certainly of deserving some royal title, like prince, or duke. Hey! “Duke of Douche”. That’s good. But, while he mean mugs in his profile picture, Dray has been the best Brooklyn Baller in the past week. He torched the Raps with 24/5/0/2/2, then followed it up with 14/8/3/2/2 against the Lakers. He is worth streaming while Brook Lopez is out.

Goran Dragic PG

Like I said last week, I will endeavour to try and predict who is worth buying and who should you sell. And Dragic, (which is about the best villain name out there, it should be in a Rocky movie) is, IMO, one of the most underrated PG’s in the game. He has to succeed the Point position to Eric Bledsoe, but with Bledsoe out, he has been killing it, going 22.6/4.2/9/.8/.2. So if you have an extra big you want to move for quality, take a look at Rocky’s next nemesis.

Sell:

Martell Webster SG, SF

If you own him, you’re gonna tell me that he’s hot. I know. But he was due to lose value with Trevor Ariza coming back, but then Bradley Beal went down, and is expected to be out for another couple weeks. Now is the time to make good on a guy playing over his head.

Al Jefferson PF, C

The big dude is back for 3 games now, and he’s producing reasonably well. But I don’t think he will ever get back to his dominant status he enjoyed in his early years. Maybe I’m wrong, but history is on my side. He has cache, though, so try to use his decent return-to-action numbers, and flip him with another piece into a better, younger version of himself, like, say LaMarcus Aldridge, or a Nikola Vucevic, if you can pull it off.

That’s all folks. I’m on Holiday time, so quit your whining, Turkey and mashed  are falling out of your pie hole. And Pie too.

Have a Great Thanksgiving!

    Hi,
Which two of these guys would you like best: Hinrich, H. Barnes, Koufos, Hickson, or Plumlee?

    Thanks!

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@asdfasdf: Hinrich and Hickson, both solidly taken over their positions, with Rose and McGee out for the year. Koufos won’t score much, but has been solid in defensive cats, so he’s a close 3rd. Barnes and Plumlee too inconsistent, and Plumlee has a horrible FT%, at something like 37%.

      • asdfasdf says:
        (link)

        @Dan A: Okay, thanks!

  2. SwaggyQ says:
    (link)

Barely ahead in FG, marginally losing in Ft, losing big time in assists and turnovers.

    Do I bench Trey?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@SwaggyQ: You need to bench him, he’s turning it over a ton, still learning the NBA game. He had more turnovers than dimes last game! See about trying to get Conley, if Yahoo is saying trade him, great buy low oportunity. Kyle Lowry is another Cat to check out, shouldn’t cost you too much, and he’s doing pretty well. Not a high volume assist guy, but very good from the stripe.
If you want help from the waiver, you could take a look at Aaron Brooks, getting minutes while Lin is injured. Pat Bev is hardwired defensively it seems, so not a bad short term option. And Steve Blake is only 60% owned, so 4 in 10 you can nab him. Good luck!

  3. Frank White says:
    (link)

Hey Dan… First of all I hope you had a Happy Thankgiving!! Now the say Gasol is 3-6 weeks so I’m keeping him but Having Valanciunas and Henson Instead of Chandler and Gasol Like I used to have is killing me!! Lol I’m not getting killed though. 1- Do you think I should grab Tyson Chandler now since he should be back soon and before someone else grabs him? I’ll have 2 guys out though but it’s early in the year and I’m in huge need of blocks. 2- Do you think I should try to trade Conley or do you think he’ll turn around?? It seems like my all my guards are in a slump, Teague n Hayward too but Yahoo says Conley should be traded. IDK.

  4. Dan A

    Dan A says:
    (link)

First of all, I think Conley is playing great. Even though he shot like poop last game, he still dropped a double double in points and assists, with a steal, couple boards, and a 3pt. And that’s a bad game! Don’t trade him, unless you get great value. Yahoo is the juggernaut, hard for me to argue, but IMO, you hold onto the only playmaker on that team. Teague or Haywood might be the guy you try to move, but again, only if you get value, don’t give them up for late mid-round value.
Good move on keeping Gasol. I think JV will have a good night tonight, he’s going up against the heat, who should destroy the Raps, but they have no quality bigs, so he should get burn. Henson is ok, but check to see if Channing Frye is available, he’s been killing it the last four games, across the stat line.
Only get Tyson if you can afford to hold him for another 3 + weeks, without it hurting you.
Here’s the thing I gather from you, Frankie. You worry, and when you worry, you tinker. Every player will have good and bad games, LeBron and KD included. So don’t sell the farm when a player puts up a stinker here and there. If you’re winning your weeks, and getting points each week, enjoy it.
Listen to yourself and say: Relax. Sorry, still groggy this morning.

    • Frank White says:
      (link)

Thanks for the tips, Your A funny dude.. In a 10 team league I’m 5th with everyone pretty close. It’s 9 CAT and I’ve been basically winning and losing 5-4, 4-5… So I haven’t been winning too much I’ve been Losing by a point more then winning. This week I’ve used all my waivers. I hear ya and Thank you and I know I get nervous quick. it’s just my luck with losing players from football to B ball is crazy so I’m used to it but just keep trying to find players to make up for them so I get a little crazy. I need steals, blocks 3’s n FT% this week cause I’m pretty much tied but I know that’s impossible to analyze for me considering all the CAT I need, Lol.. Anyway Which 2 would you Bench tonight? Tristan Thompson, Blake, Pierce, Valancinas and Henson??

      • Dan A

        Dan A says:
        (link)

@Frank White:@ The two to bench: 1) Pierce, he is playing through a groin injury, and 2)Henson/Jonas are a coin flip. I personally feel that Henson is the safer bet, but Jonas is playing vs the Heat is the higher risk/reward guy.

  5. Ryan says:

I’m in a 14 team h2h keeper league. We keep 5. Team is in my sig. Anyway I just completed a trade where I get favors and jordan hill for reddick george hill. Anyway I now have a trade on the table where I get anthony davis and evan turner for harden cousins. What should I do?
    14 team h2h keeper

    pg damian lillard
    g Jeff teague
    sg james harden
    sf kevin durant
    f john henson
    pf jordan hill
    c al jefferson
    c demarcus cousins
    util Derrek favors
    util Martel Webster
    bn ben mclemore
    bn Lou Williams
    bn Channing frye

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Ryan: Hmm. Hard one. You are giving up the best player in Harden, although he’s injured right at the moment, but AD is no slouch. And Turner is slaying teams single handedly right now, but you know he’s gotta come back down to earth eventually. It seems like you’re giving up the 1 and 4 players to acquire 2-3. I guess I would do it, and also see about what’s on the waiver for Ben McLemore, or include him in another trade. He has not impressed thus far.

  6. Liz says:
    (link)

    i love reggie jackson.

  7. Tsilaeri says:
    (link)

    Thanks for the post.
    I just got offered

Deron W + Noah vs Westbrook + Derozan
    (I’m giving away Westbr)

    Should I do this trade?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Tsilaeri: I wouldn’t. Deron could possibly be walking wounded all season. He has had ankle issues for the last few years, I would be nervous of that trend. Also, DeRosan, while he will never be an all star, is straight murder at the moment.
I guess if you really need big man stats, you might think about it. But consider this: Joakim’s last 7 days, he’s 9.5/6/2/.5/.5 . Not exactly sexy. If you’re gonna give up those two, go for a better quality big.

  8. Zack says:
    (link)

With Lin out two weeks, drop Lin for Beverley, mo Williams or Reggie Jackson? Would grab Webster but he only has a two game week.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Zack: Bev is pretty defensive minded right now, I would pass on him. Mo or Reggie are both good choices, or even Aaron Brooks, he has played nicely in Lin’s absence.

  9. miles proudfoot says:
    (link)

Hey, I need some help in boards and blocks. Drop any of these three…Mayo, Wilson Chandler, or Illyasova for Hickson, Frye, Blatche, Morris bros? Thanks!

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@miles proudfoot: I would go for either Hickson or Blatche, although Dray will lose out once Lopez comes back. I guess if it were me, I’d drop Ilyasova, he stinks right at the moment, but all those dudes are not living up to expectation, so some, if not all of them should improve significantly at some point. I would just keep an eye on Ersan, he was an absolute beast last year, I think he’s still just shaking off the rust after being out to injury.

      • miles proudfoot says:
        (link)

@Dan A: yeah, good call, thanks!

  10. BYoung says:
    (link)

    T.lawson
    K.walker
    O.Mayo
    T.Burke
    R.Jackson

T.Burke and R.Jackson are my low end PG’s and Im looking to upgrade my SF postion. If I were to trade Burke what value am I looking at and do you think R.Jackson is a long term player on a 12 team 2 centre league?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@BYoung: Jackson has value, and I like him, but Westbrook is the PG who will get the lion’s share of minutes. Burke will be spoon-fed in Utah, but he has later mid-round value right now.

  11. Prodders says:
    (link)

Just got Ibaka and Reddick for Kobe and Marc Gasol. Don’t think Kobe plays big mins every game when he comes back. What do you think? Also just got The Brow for Boogie and MCW. Quite a high price to pay but worth it I think. Do you approve? Also, do you think Felton is roster worthy this year? Thanks.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Prodders: It’s a good move, so don’t sweat it, but I think the second half of this season, Kobe goes all Uber Mamba. Still, it’s a good trade, as you get immediate benefit, and he has to wait for Kobe in the short term, and Marc in the medium- to-long term. AD is a chump for letting that hazing video get out, but he has been pure dy-no-mite! I too would pay high for him, and be glad to have him. Felton. Hmm. There is nobody else who can play point there, but he isn’t the Felton from the pre-Melo Knicks, that’s for sure. Just don’t expect that, and you won’t be disappointed. He will get high minutes, which should translate in to decent stats, and who knows? Maybe the the Felton from the golden age returns.

Would you drop any of these guys for J.bulter,T.chandler.L.sanders,

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Bargnani aka WetNoodle: Harris is only one. For Butler, the other two are just as far away from being healthy.

  13. Rudy says:
    (link)

Oh man. Jimmy Butler is on the wire and there was some news today that he is making solid progression. I feel like he may have a pimp year. My bottom tier guys are
    g
    J j hickson
    Isaiah Thomas
    Terrace jones
    Channing frye

I gotta make a move fassssst if I want him. What do you think? Anyone worth cutting?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Rudy: Hmm. No sir, I don’t like it. I like Butler, but the loss of Rose is a big blow, and you may live to regret dropping any one of those guys. If you’re hell bent on trusting your gut on JB, and I had to choose one to drop, I’d say Frye. He has been straight murder for the last 4 games, but he has the shortest track record so far, as he sucked the sack before that. Again, if he continues to slay, don’t say I forced you into it, that gut rumbling could just be the third helping of Turkey backing up on you.

    • Rudy says:
      (link)

      @Rudy:

Also, I punt turnovers and blocks.

  14. Rudy says:
    (link)

You are a pimp. Thanks do getting back to me so quick. That is a master pimp move. Love the reads and love the jokes. Good times Dan. Razzball go life

  15. AJ says:
    (link)

Korver still not in lineup possibly last game, drop him for Tyreke Evans, Felton (not 100%) Farmar, Brooks, Hinrich is out there as well but no game today.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@AJ:of the two playing today, you gotta go Tyreke. But long term, Hinrich the best choice, with Felton as well, if for no other reason than they will play 30+ minutes each night, nobody pushing them. If you’re comfortable streaming guys, then Brooks or Farmar, they’ve been hot lately.

  16. Brendan says:
    (link)

Would you trade Paul Pierce to receive Arron Affalo? I know Affalo is playing out of his mind, but I see him holding at least most of his value this season and offering a big name like Paul Pierce might allow me to tempt Affalo’s owner.

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Brendan: Ha! If you can do that trade, by all means, do it. Pierce is not the truth anymore, as much as that pains me to say. You may have to expand the deal to get Aflalo, though.

  17. Alfred says:
    (link)

is it time to drop Brandon Knight now? I’m sick of waiting on him… thinking about adding Aaron Brooks instead

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Alfred: I would. Knight is terrribly frustruating. And unlikely anyone will scoop him off waiver

  18. Jack says:
    (link)

    Hey Dan,

Team is Tony Parker, Paul George, Hayward, Favors, Hibbert, Drummond, Korver, R Anderson, Love, Rondo, Bledsoe, Harris, and Batum. 8 man 9 cat roto league. Should I drop Harris for Butler or Oladipo?

I’m bumbling around the middle of the league, but last in ft% and not doing hot in asts, stls and points…

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Jack: try for farmar, or Aaron Brooks. Oladapio in the short run while Jameer is out.

  19. Kevin says:
    (link)

Hey Dan. my Irving for someone’s Pau Gasol? fair?

I’m still actively trying to trade my Kyrie irving with danny green for Anthony Davis. Not sure if he would bite, considering how Kyrie isn’t performing like a first round pick. I might need to sweeten the deal a little bit to make it more convincing. maybe include afflalo or Trey burke in? Thanks in advance.

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Kevin: whoa! That’s crazy talk. Do NOT do gasol for Irving straight up! Even playing out of his mind, and kyrie playing like he’s riding the short bus , it still would not balance out. AD is more like it. I would offer kyrie for Davis srtraight up first , and let him reject it, if he doesn’t like it. You can never offer less, after you table an offer. And don’t fixate on Davis. If the dude who has him wants too much, look to Aldridge, or love, etc.

      • Kevin says:
        (link)

@Dan A.: so he did reject it, like you called it. He was asking if I was willing to offer anyone else. I was thinking about trading john wall but he’s the only one of my team giving me a good stream of assists right now. So either I sweeten the deal a little bit with john wall or maybe include in trey Burke or Bledsoe, OR I’ll just move on. Haha.

I’ll look to trade for Aldridge or some other big man. Love is out of the question, because the guy with Kevin love is holding onto him so no go for him.

        • Dan A

          Dan A says:
          (link)

@Kevin: you could now offer Aflalo and Kyrie for AP and a piece, or offer Kyrie for Aldridge, or Vucevic.

          • Kevin says:
            (link)

            @Dan A: thanks dan. you’re the best.

            • Kevin says:
              (link)

@Kevin: hey dan! So the owner flipped the trigger and traded his Anthony Davis and tyreke Evans for my Irving and afflalo!! I was so happy.

And then I find out AD has a nondisplaced fracture in his hand!! At least 4 weeks gone. I’m a bit disappointed but at least long term I’ll be set. Hopefully. I’ll just have to wait and see.

          • Kevin says:
            (link)

  20. Jason says:
    (link)

    Teague for Vucevic.

Guy needs a PG. I could use some rebounds. I have wall Beverly and George hill at PG.

Also what are your thoughts on Gerald Henderson?

  21. Dan A

    Dan A says:
    (link)

I love teague for Vucevic, one of the top 5 bigs in fantasy, IMO. You gotta give to get, so you are understandably lighter at the point, with Bev emerging as a defence first kinda point, and Hill taking back seat to Stephenson and George. But you still have Wall, and if you need boards, Vucevic will dependably get you double digits each game.
As to Henderson, I’ve never been a fan. A shooting guard who can ‘t shoot the 3 in his 5th year? he gets boards, and a few dimes, but… meh. A later mid round value guy. But as I said, not a big fan, so I have my reservations that might not be shared by others.

  22. m1chael says:
    (link)

    Hey Dan,
With Jordan Hill potentially missing a couple games do you see Shawne Williams stepping up? I’m dropping Dray Blatche for him tonight…

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@m1chael: I won’t lie, I would have said unlikely, but you called it. I hope you followed through, he was amazing.

      • Michael says:
        (link)

@Dan A: Went with Jordan Farmar instead. I was losing on assist by 5 and Farmar plays this Sunday which is when I’ll get him in my roster.

        • Dan A

          Dan A. says:
          (link)

@Michael: Farmar not a bad move at all, but you would have looked like a savant if you had gotten Shawne. But, to be a truly prophetic move, he will need to continue on this trajectory, and while I’m hopeful for him, but not optimistic. He sure didn’t while he had the starting position. I hope Farman drops mad dimes for you tomorrow.

  23. Jake Van Zuiden says:
    (link)

Hey could you give me your opinion on who gets the better side of each of these trades? thanks

    Cousins, Lillard for Durant, Hickson

    Tobias, Beal for Al Jefferson

    Rubio, Tobias for Parsons, Griffin

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Jake Van Zuiden: 1)Durant, Hickson, 2) Al, just because Harris is out again indefinintely, and 3)Parsons, Griffin, also influenced by Harris being out.

    Larry Sanders

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@teeque: Sullinger, I think, from that list . Also look for Kosta Koufos, he has been filling in well for Marc.

  26. Michael Pan says:
    (link)

i got offered Russell westbrook for my Ty lawson . do you think i should do this trade?

russell westbrook can flat out score, but lawson has been playing with better efficiency and scoring just as much , but wanted to know what you think. i got mike conley and trey burke as my other two pg.

    i am in a 9 c at roto

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Michael Pan: well, Westbrook was straight murder last night, so if the offer is still there, I would take it. He will turn the ball over, but only 2.5 per last 4 games, which is way down, and what he gives you is worth it.

  27. Frank White says:
    (link)

Morning Dan… I was wondering, when they say 6-10 weeks and now 3-6 weeks for Gasol’s return, Do they mean from the time he got hurt or from now?? If it’s 3-6 weeks from now then it isn’t like anything changed cause they said 6-8 weeks when he got hurt 3 weeks ago, ya know..

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Frank White: It’s from now. Nothing has changed.

  28. Frank White says:
    (link)

Also I know you tell me not to worry but with Mayo, Hayward and West not doing crap, I have NO BIG MEN That are reliable. Without Tyson n Gasol, I have Tristan Thompson, Valancinas and John Henson.. And Henson is the best!! With
    Conley
    Teague
    Hayward
    Mayo
    Ariza
    Millsap
    West
    Carmello
    Pierce
    Tristan T
    J Valancinas
    Henson and
    Blake
In my lineup, Do you think I should be sending trade proposals and if so who would you recommend trading for what kind of player?? If not then every week I have to stream these guys.

    • Frank White says:
      (link)

Oh, Plumlee is on waivers and they say with Bledsoe back he will get a chance for more play since they’re covered. If he’s available Monday do you like him?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Frank White: Go for kosta koufos, or Hickson, or, in a pinch, Dalembert.

      • Dan A

        Dan A says:
        (link)

@Dan A: Or Plumlee, sure, why not.

  29. Frank White says:
    (link)

Do you think I should try trading Hayward and West for Aldridge n Jimmy Butler? I know Butler is hurt but with Rose out He’ll have a huge role. Or them 2 plus Pierce for Al Jefferson and Kahwi Leonard?? I don’t even think they’ll take it. I suck at matching trades in basketball

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Frank White: Hayward and West for Aldridge only. Or West for Butler.

What has happened to Harkless and MKG? Drop those two for streaming FA’s?

    • miles proudfoot says:
      (link)

@miles proudfoot: also 12 team h2h so not great options on the wire…far mar, middleton, Mitch Williams…

      • Dan A

        Dan A says:
        (link)

@miles proudfoot: if you mean Mo Williams, he is suspended for a game, and has dropped off the last few games. Middleton is not a reliable choice, IMO. Farmar is the better option, he has been hot for the last 5 games. I would drop MKG over Harkless, I think, he has Plantar Fasciitis, which can linger all season. If you’re not attached to Harkless either, maybe look to see if Kosta Koufos is available, or Henson, Aaron Brooks, Wes Johnson, or Marvin Williams.

@Dan A: thanks for the advice, haha meant Marvin Williams not the 90’s Phillies pitcher..

I wanted your opinion on my team and what changes, if any, I should make. I’m thinking about selling high on Matthews but one part of me says that maybe he can maintain his production. I play in a 6 Team Points League w/ the following categories: FGM, FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, ST, BLK, TO. Need to start 10 [1PG, 1SG, 2G, 1SF, 1PF, 2F, 2C]

    T. Parker-PG
    R. Rubio-PG
    M. Ellis-PG, SG
    D. DeRozan-SG, SF
    L. James-SF, PF
    D. Nowitzki-PF, C
    W. Matthews-PF, C
    D. Howard-PF, C
    P. Gasol-C, PF
    T. Duncan-C, PF

    Bench: K. Korver, K. Leonard, C. Boozer, B. Lopez, J.R. Smith

    Thanks, Mike

@Mike Herbst: Matthews listed as a PF/C? I would look at trading Matthews, there are always guys who are hot on the waiver. Turn one into amore reliable piece.

@Mike Herbst: That is a very interesting trade. I think I would do it too. Tough giving up LBJ, though, but Curry is straight murder since the concussion.

    14 Team, 9-cat H2H

PG: Curry (SG), Conley, Bledsoe(SG), IT2,
    SG: Henderson (SF), Waiters, Dunleavy(SF)
    SF: T.Jones (PF),
PF: Nowitzki (C), Millsap, Kieff Morris,
C: Favors (PF), Henson (PF), Valanciunas

Dirk + Conley for Ant Dave too much? Looking at trading Favors and Millsap cause they drag my FT% down. Thoughts?

  33. Dan A

    Dan A says:
    (link)

AD is the best player, and typically, the dude who gets the best player wins, but the other two are slaying it, so it’s a fair exchange, you may even be giving up more than your opponent. He can drop his last bench player, and you have to make up the second on the waiver. But Davis can single handedly win your swats and steals, mind you, and while it’s just me, no actual metrics behind it, but I always worry about an older player like Dirk keeping up the pace over a long season, so I like the trade. But I bet against Wade breaking down last season, and not only did he not, he mowed muthas down, so take the advice with a grain.
If you can package Favors and/or Millsap for a big with high FT%, good on you, like Vucevic, for example. But research how their contribution in other cats affect your team. Don’t want to suffer in 4 categories to improve in 1, for example.

  34. Glenn says:
    (link)

would it make sense to drop Hinrich for Knight? Kirk just isn’t producing enough and Brandon is on the rise… who has more upside long-term?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Glenn: Knight has more upside than Hinrich, for sure, except he’s always injured. He’s out with a hammy right now. So buyer beware, he looks like a guy who will only play 50% of his games, at this point.

  35. Steve Stevenson says:
    (link)

Dump Danny Green, or hold? If Redick’s injury lingers, I’d have to start Green next week in H2H pts. FA options (in order of ppg in our format) are Manu, R. Jackson, Hinrich. Jackson has 4 G next week, the others have 3.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Steve Stevenson: If you’re good on point production from your other players, Danny provides stats across the board, which has good value, from a 3pt, blocks and steals perspective. But given the choice, I would prefer Reggie or Hinrich over Danny, at this point.

Traded T. Jones for W. Chandler, bad move?

9-cat H2H 20-team, I have cp3, rubio, millsap, kanter, pierce, waiters, sanders. I’m planning to pick up Tyson Chandler which is why I traded away Jones for a guard. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Larry: I like it. You took a waiver pick up, and turned him into a mid round value piece. Just be patient with Tyson’s return expectations, he’s still at least 3-4 weeks, IMO. I have to guess, because they won’t put a time line on it, which in itself is not an encouraging sign. What we do know is that he has yet to work out on the court, he is doing all his rehab in the pool. certainly does not sound like a week- 10 days to me.

Some interesting names floating around on my waivers…
I just made the trade Tobias and Beal for Al Jefferson so i have room for a pickup
Some guys out there are Marc Gasol, Paul Pierce (just got dropped), Bynum, Felton, Derrick Willaims, Sanders, Kanter, Asik, Knight, Farmar, Jordan Hill (just got dropped)
    My roster is as follows

    PG- Lillard
    SG- Ellis
    G- Rubio
    SF- J Green
    F- Cousins
    PF- Love
    C- Drummond
    C- Jefferson
    UTIL- T Evans
    UTIL- Sullinger
    BN- Illyasova
    BN- Valanciunas
    BN- Iguadala

I was thinking about maybe dropping Valanciunas or Illyasova as well. Its a 10 team hth 11 cat. with a DD category. Some people in my league are talking about picking up Gasol so should i snatch him up before it’s too late? Also i’ve been offered a few trades and was wondering what you thought..

My Lillard, Green, and Sullinger for J Smoove, Favors, and Parsons

My Cousins and Ellis for Durant and Bargnani

Also, who are maybe a couple buy low guys that i could target, and how to maybe improve my team.
I know this is a lot of stuff but i really appreciate it! Thanks!

@Frank White: Melo is an Elite player, a guy who does get 3’s, btw, and is worth at least a second round talent, like Batum. Or offer Mayo and Melo for AD or Love.

Of all of those free agents, I would only be interested in Farmar or Hill, but Jordan is streaky.
I would drop Ilyasova over JV. I know the big Lithuanian has been unreliable so far, but better than Ersan, IMO.
If you want to wait another 5 weeks with Gasol eating up a roster spot, then sure, he will be productive after shaking off the rust.
No on Green/Lillard deal, IMO. I’m very high on Lillard.
Yes on Cousins/Ellis. Any trade where you get KD for non-first round talent going back, is a good deal.
As to buy low, look to see what Kyle Lowry would cost, and not exactly a buy low, but also inquire about Vucevic, a double double machine.

Hey Dan, I’m pretty set at PG with Parker, Isaiah thomas, and Lawson but i have some concerns about parker’s long term value. he tweaked his ankle and pop benched him, he’ll have his minutes go down toward the end of the season, and theres never any pressure to play him. should i think about flipping him for someone not restrained by their teams championship aspirations, hold onto him as long as I can, or even keep him the whole season and just accept some off nights? also why can’t greg pop just prioritize my fantasy needs!?!?!?!
    thanks

  45. Dan A

    Dan A says:
    (link)

I know your pain. He’s tough to give up, because he performs so well, when unleashed, but Pop is the quintessential minute counter. I would try to trade him, if you can add another piece, and get a CP3, or Lillard, and if not, stick with him.

  46. Bobby says:

    Sup fellas,
Is it worth dropping W. Chandler, or Tobias …. For J. Hill, or Markieff. What are your thoughts? Thanks guys, appreciate all the good reads.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Bobby: not Chandler, he’s worth more than the pick-ups But Tobias is out for a while, so he’s the drop candidate. Markieff over Hill, jordan’s coming back from a sprained ankle.

  47. teeque says:

    Hey there Dan,
I think the Danny Green owner just got impatient. Should I drop Pat Bev or Sullinger for him? I was already trying to drop Dalembert to pick up Gasol off the waivers. If I can’t get Gasol, drop Dalembert for him?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@teeque: Danny Green is a poor man’s Batum. He gets a few boards, blocks, steals, dimes, basically helps out in all you r stats, but just no impressive numbers in any one category. But compared to Dalembert, he’s an improvement for sure.

  48. Jeremy says:
    (link)

In a 12 team, 9 cat H2H league. Ever since I had to drop Javale McGee and Larry Sanders, my team basically went to shit with numerous injuries and sub par performances. I have a crapload of guards and looking to add a big like Koufos (just went on waivers), Gibson, or Blair… who is the odd man out?

Brooks, Stuckey, George Hill, Harrison Barnes, Jordan Hill, Josh Smith, Ibaka, Frye, Irving, Knight, Jimmy Butler, Beal, and Beverley

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:

@Jeremy: Knight. Injured again, and has been a disappointment this season so far.

  49. Mike says:

Just dropped all my laker players, they don’t play until Friday. With a possiblity of Kobe coming back Friday, he will take shots away from all the guards.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Mike: Fair enough, Aside from Gasol, there are no must holds. But Don’t expect Kobe to kill all your other gold and purple guard’s value right off the bat. He as already said he’s fine with a minute cap, which means first couple weeks, he will not do more than 20-25 minutes.

  50. Jon says:
    (link)

just pull off a trade today. wanted to know how you think:
I offered D-Wade+ Wesley Matthews for his Melo+Kawhi

i’m actually feeling pretty bad right now coz wade and wes matt is playing really well lately. especially Matthews.. shooting 50% from 3pt is just crazy, i thought wade’s knee will eventually be an issue later, and Matthews might eventually cool off…
the X factor here is Kawhi… he needs to step up big time or im gonna cry

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Jon: It might work out to be a bad trade, but it’s not bad on paper. Meaning, you didn’t get fleeced. And Wes will not be a stud all year, he’s no Kawhi Leonard anyways. It’s more like 2 trades: Melo for Wade,a nd Kawhi for Wes. And I would rather have Melo over Wade, for the injury factor as well. Wes is putting up great numbers (who injured himself last night, BTW), but is playing at the absolute top of his ability, where Leonard could continue to rise into a near all star level.

  51. Frank White says:
    (link)

Sup Bro… Blake only got 2 games this week. Who’s the best bet to replace him, Beverley or Nate Robinson? With Nate I like the FG n FT% points n 3’s and Beverley has a good line to except the fg n ft%. The thing is Nate is doing great but only gets like 18 min. Who would you go with??

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Frank White: I would say Aaron Brooks, for this week, while Lin is out. He will get more minutes than Nate, and Bev is defensively minded. Also, see if Reggie Jackson is available, he could be good as well.

  52. Frank White says:
    (link)

Oh and Assists and steals are huge too.. basically I just said every category like an idiot instead of sayin best all around.. LOL

  53. Frank White says:

      • Frank White says:

        • Frank White says:
          (link)

I’m sorry.. Instead of all this crap I wrote, What do you think about me picking up Marvin Williams and Brooks and dropping Pierce and Blake???

          • Dan A

            Dan A says:
            (link)

@Frank White: Frankie, you already know the answer. Marvin is hot, and getting the start. Alan Adderson is interesting, but with Jet coming back soon, if not already, he is only a spot start for now. So I would go with Marvin, if you only have one spot.

            • Frank White says:
              (link)

And you sure Brooks over Nate cause I saw that Brooks sometimes only gets 16 minutes every couple games and nate got an extra game this week..?

              • Frank White says:
                (link)

Forget it I already know that answer too

                Dan A says:
                (link)

@Frank White: So go Nate. What I’m saying is that they’re a coin toss, but Brooks is replacing an injured player right now, has had 2 out of 3 great games, with the bad one coming against the Spurs, a great team. But if Nate has 4 games, that is indeed an advantage.

@Fantasy Newb: Wow. That’s easy. Nope. There may be waiver guys playing better than a few dudes on your squad, which is stacked, by the way, but streaming guys rise, and then fall quickly, whereas you have dependable guys. Bluechip-ers. The only one to keep an eye on is koufos, who’s value is tied to Marc gasol being out.

    Dan man,
Follow your advice last time got rid off Markieff and got back Frye, work well so far! Thanks!

Davis should/could sit out from 2-4 weeks to 6-8 weeks. What do you think of Jason Smith?
Amir or Jason Smith? Amir not a starter no more and Raptors are having problem passing to each other especially feeding inside…so thinking about dropping Amir

And Pierce got dropped because is out from 2-4 weeks. Would you spend wavier on him in 14 team league?

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@quintero: glad to hear it. Believe, it can easily go the other way. Frankly, I don’t love either. I have Amir, and I agree , it’s a mess in Dino land. But smith not much better, IMO. Check for either Kosta koufos on your waiver, or Terrance jones , maybe dalembert in a pinch? Iin that order. f the choice is smith or Amir only, then smith, I guess.
I wouldn’t get pierce until he proves he still has some truth in him. Because he’s a lying sob right now, and that kills me to say, he’s a hero of mine, a top 50 of all time, IMO.

      • Dan A

        Dan A. says:

@Dan A.: a follow up, I see now that you were asking about dropping Amir for smith, while AD is out. In that context, yes, smith will get more burn while Davis is out, and I see why you would nab him.
