Full disclosure: I’m getting killed in my first two weeks of Fantasy. The reason? I have 3 bench spots, filled by Wilson Chandler, Kobe Bryant and Tobias Harris. Am I dropping any of these guys? Nope. I’m cool, Daddio. Remember, good reader, that being down by a couple points early in the season will hurt, but dropping talented players for stop gaps can spell doom for your season. I’m betting smart money that these guys will kill it when they return, and were I to drop one or more, it leaves me to stream guys, gambling on good performances from players overachieving week-to-week. Dangerous.  But if you like to live on the edge, or you lost Tyson Chandler for 4-6, and are a man of action, not words, then take a look at these fine fantasy finds:

Buy:

Wilson Chandler SG, SF

Denver is a mess right now at the wing. Both Chandler and Danilo Gallinari have started the season on the shelf. But fear not, Mile High-ers! Wilson has said he will be playing in Utah on Monday. He is currently only owned in 55% of the Yahoo universe, and will get all the playing time he can handle. He has a career stat line of only 13/5/2/1/1, with 1 3pt per, but, like I said, that was behind first Melo, then Gallinari. I expect better lines than that.

Gerald Green SG, SF

Goran Dragic went down, and we all know, through adversity comes opportunity. And Gerald Green is the beneficiary of this particular opportunity, and is running with it. In his last two games, he has averaged 16.5 points, along with 4.5 3pts. Cash. And all that while missing half a ring finger on his shooting hand. Unfortunately, Dragic isn’t supposed to be out for long, but Green is worth a look if you need short term help.

Miles Plumlee PF

I don’t know where you could have been in the last week to not have heard all the hype around this cat’s stellar start out the gate, He is a board and point machine! Since I submitted my first buy/sell the day before Halloween, I didn’t include Plumlee, as he had only played one game. Despite the hype, he’s only owned in 60% of Yahoo leagues, so, if my math is right, you have a 40% chance of nabbing him. Hope that is the case.

Steve Blake PG

I know what you’re thinking. This is a bit of a reach. And it is, sorta. But consider this: Steve Nash will play very limited minutes, and rest one of the games in all back-to-backs this season. Blake had 14 points, 2 assists, 3 boards and 4 3pt against the Clippers, and got the start in New Orleans tonight. I’m not saying go get him now, but if you’re in a pinch… And he’s owned in 6% of leagues. You could do worse.

C.J. Miles SG, SF

Miles has been consistent off the bench, and, until last night’s game, Dion Waiters was under-performing. I like the long ball, as anyone who reads me knows, so getting 14 pts, 3 boards, 2 dimes, and 4 3pts  last game is just fine for a fill in, and is worth a look in my book.

Jae Crowder SF

Now this dude is interesting. Don’t go get him just yet, unless you’re in a 14-16 team league and have the space to stash him. Vince Carter got ejected from the game last night against the Thunder, and Jae capitalized , going for 17 pts, 3 3pts, 3 boards, 2 steals. And the game prior, he came of the bench to get 18 pts, 4 3pts, 4 boards. He’s buried behind Marion, Carter, and Nowitzki, but should any of those 3 get hurt, he will get playing time.

Dejuan Blair PF, C

He’s averaging 9.5 points, 7.8 boards, and 2.8 steals per game, off the bench in 20 or so minutes. The steals are nice from a big, but he only has .8 blocks per game, which is underwhelming. He’s only owned in 10% of leagues, so he’s a good streaming option.

Sell:

I know that this is a cop out, once again, it’s 5 games into the season, there aren’t any real players you should be dropping. What? Fine! I’ll try to find something!

Tyson Chandler C

The other Chandler. I don’t really think you should drop this dude, but I suppose if you have no space to stash him, do what you gotta do. He will be out for 4-6 weeks, that is a long time, I guess.

Ronny Turiaf C

You didn’t know this, because you don’t own him, but if for some reason you have Turiaf on your bench, ditch him, he’s got a broken elbow. But seriously, if you have him, your team is in trouble.

That’s all for now. May your dunkers dunk, and your shooters splash. Good luck in week 3!
