Alexey Shved scored 17 points last night in Philadelphia making it three straight 15+ point games (17, 16, 17) in a row now. He chipped in 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 block, and hit four three pointers. Not too bad for a guy who’s just 15% owned in yahoo leagues. That’s what she Shved! Ha! Anyway, there’s some concern with his minutes, however, but Shvedy lead all players last night with 29 minutes. J.J. Barea also had a good game with 11 points and 10 assists in 27 minutes, and starting point guard Luke “Star Wars reference” Ridnour had 10 points and 4 assists in 21 minutes. Rick Adelman thinks Shved could be “The Answer” at shooting guard for the Wolves. And that’s me quoting someone paraphrasing someone tweeting someone else. Either way, Shved is likely to see plenty of time on the court and could be worth a look for your fantasy team.
Here’s what else happened Tuesday night in fantasy basketball:
Lebron James - 26 pts, 13 reb, 11 ast, 3 stl, 2 blk. The triple double machine gets the first blurb because our very own James Redacted was attendance. Yup, and Bron did just about everything he could to impress James R. but he still couldn’t stop the Wiz from grabbing just their second win of the season in a huge upset. I guess those Wizards really are magic, because they definitely pulled this win out of the hat!
Chris Singleton - 9 pts, 9 reb, 3 ast, 1 blk in 35 minutes. Started in place of Kevin Seraphin (16 pts, 10 reb) and I guess they matched up much better versus the Heat this way as the move worked out and Washington got the win. Unfortunately, for Singleton this was likely a single start for him. Expect to see Seraphin start next time out, but he’s worth watching if Singleton continues to see big minutes.
Jordan Crawford - 22 pts, 6 ast. Old man voice: “I remember, back in ought-three, they had a real Michael Jordan playing for the Wizards, and they wore blue jerseys, and they still stunk but everyone was happy about it! Those were the golden years.”
Josh Howard - 16 pts, 10 reb. Howard got his second start of the season and took advantage with his best game this year. JoHo is gradually gaining a bigger role on this Wolves team, he’s a fav of Coach Rick Adelman, so if you’re the speculating type–I’d go speculate somewhere else, ahem, you ain’t welcome here.
Andray Blatche - 19 pts, 11 reb, 3 stl. Brook Lopez is still bothered by a foot, so Andray is reaping the benefits with another nice start. Worth a flier in the meantime, ‘Dray is cray, and will play, while Bropez is day-to-day.
Paul George - 34 pts, 9 reb, 3 stl, 2 ast, 2 blk. That is exactly what I am talkin’ about! Keep doing that.
Kobe Bryant - 39 pts, 6 reb, 2 stl, 2 ast. Kobe was in Mamba mode last night but apparently Snakes are no match for Rockets. #tradeeveryonebutkobe
Antawn Jamison - 15 pts, 9 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl, 3 blk, 3 3pm in 37 minutes as he started for Pau Gasol, who sat out with an injury. Antawn is still under 50% owned but should be owned everywhere by now. So go own him.
Carlos Delfino - 15 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast, 1 stl in 31 minutes. Just his second game back from a groin injury (ow, my groin!), Carlos took 10 three’s in this game. Gotta love that. The Rockets’ bench is actually a lot deeper than I originally though, with Carlos of the Fino the sixth man off the bench and even Toney Douglas (22 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl, 3 3pm) could provide some possible value.
Metta World Peace - 9 pts, 4 reb. This train is slowing down, and quickly. SELL Artest if you can still get any value for him, but you probably can’t. Womp womp.
Zach Randolph - 38 pts, 22 reb, 1 stl, 3 blk. This train, on the other hand, just seems to get faster and stronger every day. Z-Bo cannot be stopped! He’s, er, not-stoppable! He’s like that Denzel Washington movie, “The Train That Wouldn’t Slow Down.”
Michael Beasley - 6 pts, 2 reb, 1 blk. Beasley put up a measly 6 points? He missed 10 0f his 13 shots, and has proven to have some big problems staying consistent. If he keeps this up, he might not be in the starting line up much longer.
Luis Scola - 16 pts, 8 reb, 3 stl, 2 ast. Alternately, Scola has been playing well enough to warrant a return to the starting line up. See Beasley, Michael.
Kevin Love - 6 pts, 10 rebs, 5 ast. Not the best game from the Love Guru. I just wanted an excuse to share this video for his Coat Drive. You can have all my coats, Kevin, just promise me you’ll play saxophone at my wedding.
