Close to wrapping up the positions at PF, there’s a really interesting dynamic looking at my PF ranks.  Sure you can not agree with where I have guys, but I think it’s pretty undeniable there’s a big dropoff from the middle round guys (ending with Zach Randolph, Thaddeus Young and Kenneth Faried) to the deep guys.  As I’ve said before, if drafting on Yahoo the positional scarcity isn’t nearly as big a factor with their position criteria, but if drafting on other fantasy sites, I would be sure to grab one of those top 20ish pure PFs so I’m not stuck with one of the guys in my 30s.

As mentioned before, all Razzball ranks are broken down by Yahoo position eligibility (view all top 200 here), so there won’t be direct positional crossover to other fantasy sites:

2013-2014 Fantasy PF Rankings

(updated Oct. 8)

POS RANKOVERALL RANKPLAYER, POS, TEAMNOTE
12LeBron James, SF/PF, MIAStill think an elite season coming, but can’t question KD at 1 overall anymore.  But at PF, easy call for first.
26Serge Ibaka, PF/C, OKCI’ll reach, scored 4 more a game, developing deep shot, 57.3 FG% 12-13.  Westbrook injury now has him a key scorer as well, but obviously doesn’t move above the big 5 overall.
310Kevin Love, PF/C, MEMFirst-round talent, injury downside.  Slides into top-ten overall with Westbrook injury.
415Al Horford, PF/C, ATLMillsap is more efficient than Josh Smith, love Teague, big year for big Al.
517Al Jefferson, PF/C, CHACharlotte finally has a big, offense will run through him.
619Carmelo Anthony, SF/PF, NYElite scoring, sure, think boards go down and a little injury prone.
721LaMarcus Aldridge, PF/C, PORWould move 5-6 spots up if guaranteed with POR all year – trade concerns.  A tad gimpy right now.
822Anthony Davis, PF/C, NOHuge second half, lots of scorers coming in a slight concern.
923Dirk Nowitzki, PF, DALAfter working his way back, elite Hall-of-Famer we’re used to in 2nd half.
1025Josh Smith, SF/PF, DETHas opportunity, very volatile in his value.
1126Joakim Noah, PF/C, CHIInjuries will be concerning, but very big year from Noah in 12-13, Rose = FG% up.
1227Larry Sanders, PF/C, MILGM calls him key to the team, contract extention in works, big year ahead.
1328Ersan Ilyasova, SF/PF, MILEasy to overlook he was coming off the bench before Skiles fired, huge 2nd half.
1431David Lee, PF/C, GSOften underrated, not worried about the hip injury that’s healed up.
1534Pau Gasol, PF/C, LALBye-bye Dwight, hello to old ways.  Or would it be hola?
1635Nikola Vucevic, PF/C, ORLNot only a double-double guy, 2 ast 1 stl 1 blk a game as well.
1737Tim Duncan, PF/C, SADream season last year, think he’ll come close to duplicating going for title.
1838Paul Millsap, PF, ATLOnly 27, played only 30:26 a night last year, will flourish in ATL.
1940Rudy Gay, SF/PF, TORBuying all things Raptors, solid multi-cat contributor.
2043DeMarcus Cousins, PF/C, SACStill risky, one of fantasy’s biggest high risk/reward picks yet again.
2144Blake Griffin, PF, LACDespite hardcore fantasy player’s hate, there’s still upside, but I won’t reach.
2245Jeff Green, SF/PF, BOSHuge, huge upside with extraordinary breakout potential.
2349Chris Bosh, PF/C, MIAUnder-the-radar (at least to me) very productive 12-13 despite dwindling skill set/rebounding.  Some further regression.
2450Derrick Favors, PF/C, UTAThe Jazz have a ton of faith in him, oozes potential/high block total.
2557Tobias Harris, SF/PF, ORLMy boyfriend from last year, flashed fantastic goodness in 2nd half.  Will start.
2658Chandler Parsons, SF/PF, HOUFantastic 12-13, think he has another great, efficient season.
2763Ryan Anderson, PF/C, NODespite new faces, don’t think his role/numbers change much.
2866David West, PF, INDSolid 12-13, another solid 13-14.
2967Zach Randolph, PF/C, MEMRead West, David.
3070Thaddues Young, SF/PF, PHISomeone has to score in Philly, right?  Actually a pretty good 12-13 as well.
3186Kenneth Faried, PF, DENLove the Manimal in real life, think his fantasy value can be a little overrated.
3291Carlos Boozer, PF/C, CHIOne of my least favorite players, is actually going a bit underrated in 13-14.
3392Andre Drummond, PF/C, DETSure some upside, but 37.1 FT%?  Really?
34100Amir Johnson, PF/C, TORDespite probably a sub-10 PPG scorer, gave you 1 stl 1.4 blks last year.
35101Cody Zeller, PF/C, CHAA surprise from Summer ball, there’s upside playing next to Jefferson.
36103Chris Kaman, PF/C, LALThrived when he’s gotten starting minutes, will be vastly undervalued.
37104Kevin Garnett, PF/C, BKNKidd says he’ll bench KG on back-to-backs, #s still there last year, down a bit this year.
38106Anderson Varejao, PF/C, CLEThe unreal rebounds are tough to ignore, but less minutes, Bynum = less value.
39114Andrei Kirilenko, SF/PF, BKNNever been a huge fan, but will still get minutes behind old former Celtics.
40117Shawn Marion, SF/PF, DALI don’t buy a repeat, but Marion was huge last year under-the-radar.
41121Tristan Thompson, PF/C, CLELoved him before Bynum/Bennett brought in, Bynum hurt, TT could start.
42133Anthony Bennett, SF/PF, CLEFrontcourt is loaded, but loaded with injury-prone guys.  Still won’t reach for #1 pick.  Showing conditioning problems recovering from off-season shoulder surgery.
43134Gerald Wallce, SF/PF, BOSWill get minutes early, he’s getting shopped, probably loses value on deadline deal as I doubt he gets traded into a big role.
44136↑ Andrea Bargnani, PF/C, NYKApparently gelling well with Melo and Amar’e is still hurt.  Not going to go nuts for him, but upside warrants the slight boost.
45137Nene Hilario, PF/C, WASAdds 3 dimes a game, but up there in age and not a guy I’m drafting earlier.
46139Metta World Peace, SF/PF, NYShould play despite not playing under this name.  Probably avoiding.
47140Brandan Wright, PF/C, DALDalembert the de facto starter, but I see Wright getting upper 20 minutes a night.
48145John Henson, PF/C, MILWon’t get boatloads of minutes, but his per/48 is fantastic and can contribute.
49150J.J. Hickson, PF/C, DENBehind Faried and McGee, will still get pretty solid minutes.
50157↓ Amar’e Stoudemire, PF/C, NYName value probably has him going earlier, not touching him.
51165Luis Scola, PF/C, INDRelegated to the bench, still has efficient scoring upside.
52168Tayshaun Prince, SF/PF, MEMStarts, gets minutes, will give you a tiny bit of scoring.
53173Carl Landry, SF/PF, SACRevolving door at the 4 for the Kings, I think Landry is most consistent.
54174Nerlens Noel, PF/C, PHIWill get eased in, always a chance he has big last couple of months.
55176Kosta Koufos, PF/C, MEMWas productive in only 22 minutes/per last year, will get 18-20 and a few boards.
56177Brandon Bass, PF/C, BOSUnclear role with Humphries/Wallace stealing some minutes.
57179Markieff Morris, PF, PHXHey, he’s starting.  Deep leagues could do worse this late.
58180Glen Davis, PF/C, ORLHurt, probably misses opener, they’re trying to dump him – 180 from my thoughts in May.
59182Thomas Robinson, PF, PORThis deep, there’s late-season upside if LA gets moved/hurt.
60183Patrick Patterson, PF/C, SACP Pat is stuck in that 3-man PF rotation with Landry/Jason Thompson.
61184Antawn Jamison, PF, LACHe’s old but can still score off the bench as a mid-week streamer.
62185Ed Davis, PF/C, MEMRandolph is reliable but old, Davis showed potential with TOR in 1st half of 12-13.
63193DeMarre Carroll, SF/PF, ATLI always thought he was underrated, will see decent minutes as reserve 2/3.
64198Marressee Speights, PF/C, GSThink he’s a better player than opportunities he’s been given, works into mins.
65200Boris Diaw, PF/C, SAJust so fun to say his name like Rick Flair, he had to be my Mr. Irrelevant!
